1. Introducing an all-new Treasure Chest, now available for free in the store!
2. Includes bug fixes and various under-the-hood improvements.
Word Roll is a fun and breezy addition to the word-puzzle genre. It takes the familiar 'letter-connecting' mechanic and adds a nice rolling animation that makes it feel more dynamic than your standard word search. The levels start very simply, but the grid sizes and word complexity ramp up at a steady pace, keeping your brain engaged without becoming overly stressful.
It’s a great 'waiting room' game because you can complete a level in about 30 seconds. The dictionary is quite extensive, and I was pleasantly surprised that it recognized some more obscure words as bonus entries. Like many free word games, it relies on ads and hints to monetize, but you can definitely progress without spending money if you're a bit of a logophile. It’s polished, easy on the eyes, and a solid choice for anyone who enjoys daily word challenges.
Smooth and satisfying rolling animations
Hundreds of challenging levels
Daily brain-training puzzles
Bonus rewards for extra words
Playable offline
Always try to find extra words that aren't in the main grid. These 'bonus words' fill up your treasure chest and earn you free coins for hints.
Swipe your finger across the letter wheel to form words. If the word is correct, it will fill into the grid above. Clear all the words in the grid to move to the next level.
You can spend coins to buy hints when you're stuck on a difficult level.
One thing I really do like about this game is the free exchange letters, which you can do twice before using any coins. What I don’t like is sometimes when you exchange letters you get exactly what you had. Today I exchanged 3 letters and got 3 letter I’s. I wish we could choose the letters we want to buy, because I exchanged 6 times and never got an N but that would be hard to program…you might need to visit with your ad companies because the ads are sometimes 180 seconds long, and there is no way to turn off the sound on some of them. One ad has loud sirens and screeching car sounds because it’s a traffic game. I play this game in my car and hearing loud siren noises and screeching tires just doesn’t mix well with highway driving. I don’t mind watching ads as long as they can be muted. This is really a great game. I do love it and it is way more affordable than some.
Several different ways to play. you can play opponents, though it does seem mostly computer generated. Some real people. A daily bingo that gives you coins. Another daily game that requires 100 coins to continue but in end gives you 50 coins back. Not that it matters much as they give you plenty of coins (hope they don’t change this). Then there’s my favorite-> ticket mania… it is open play for several hours up to 2 days, during this time you try to be in the top 5 to earn extra coins, this takes place while playing regular opponent games only need to tap to add. It breaks for 4 to 6 hours then starts a new cycle. The only down fall is when it picks computer generated opponent because that’s just not as fun playing if there is a true competition! Thanks for creating a fun Word Roll game - helps break up the monotonous of the day 😊
Updated Edit: this needs to be fixed. The game gives you a match to play but that player is away. Hence, you get one word in. There doesn’t seem to be a way of getting back to that game! I get notifications that they’re nudging me, but nothing takes me to them. Then I get a notification that their nudging game is over! What? —— This is one of the best word games I’ve played. My only beef is the cost of coins. 350 for a swap is high and empties fast. Otherwise, definitely thumbs up as far as incentives and graphics. Edit: I find that if I start a game and it doesn’t say, “plays fast” and my opponent isn’t responding, I have no way of finding that game again. Can we get a “games in progress” to go back to?
I enjoy this game. However, it is just a crash grab for you to buy coins. You don't need the coins to play but if you want to win, you will need coins. That being said, it leads me to the ticket game. The most you can win is 1750 coins. Yet, you suggest using 1000 coins to gain 3 extra coins in your endeavor. This is ridiculous and only cements my point about it being a cash grab. This game could be so much more fun if the incentive to play it was higher. Getting 50 coins here and daily coins does not help in the overall. You will need to buy coins if you want to win. How about making the game more lucrative? As soon as I get to a point where I need to purchase coins I simply stop playing the game. If the goal is to have people play your game, then make it more lucrative. There are plenty of word games out here that are just as fun and give you a bit more for your efforts.
The game play is fun and challenging so I didn't mind paying for limited ads. But the overarching quests hold zero interest to me. They just get in the way of my enjoyment of basic game. Also, am assuming most/all of my opponents are bots as the move timing makes no sense if real people. If bots, make them smarter. I regularly see them make dumb strategic choices. Also, I haven't figured out why I/anyone would want to spend money on game coins. So I can buy extra tiles? Why spend real money to make game easier when I can't see any reason to need to win more games. I must be missing something. I want game to be more challenging, not easier.
The game was glitching so bad that I removed it and reinstalled it. Unfortunately, when I reinstalled it, it lost that I paid for it. I’ve tried to support and spent three weeks going back-and-forth with an automated response, telling me to reply back with the name of the game, stalling for a couple more days. Even though I provided the name of the game initially and receipt of purchase. They told me what to do and close the ticket. I think I went through that three or four times over three or four weeks. I’m just done. I think it’s a scam and a half and reporting to the Better Business Bureau might be a good move. Too bad, because the game had good concept, poor execution and awful support. I don’t know how they have 4.9 rating. I just read all the critical ratings in the last month.
For the most part, the game is fun there are a couple of comments I need to make:… I’m not crazy about the new format. There are things that I used to be able to do that don’t seem to be available anymore… Also, who is developers should be aware that there are game players, who are more interested in changing the chat room situation to more private chat rooms in other areas… Very suspicious… I think these guys I’m sure their guys are on more than one site with more than one name. Some responses are almost exactly the same you should be aware of this I think it’s a way to gain confidence in naïve and gullible players with potentially serious consequences
Love the game except I still see the banner add which is annoying. Also when I use the word amplifier I still see an advertisement which is also annoying. Paying $9.99 to remove the ads was a waste of money to me. I don’t mind spending money on in app purchases but don’t say you’re going to remove advertisements when I still have to look at an annoying banner and still advertisement when using the amplifier. Especially that banner! It’s so annoying. Anyways I love love love the game but I can’t play it no longer than 15 minutes because I can’t stand seeing that banner constantly flashing advertisements.
