Bug Fixes and In-Game Enhancements
Been playing since thanksgiving and bought the booster and a few of the cheap packs ($40 total spent). I have a daily average of ~1 hour and it’s great. People complain about how slow it is but it’s a mobile game and you’re suppose to play it slow. Like during your lunch break or when you’re sitting on the toilet or when you’re in the parking lot of market basket and you tell your spouse that it’s super busy inside but you just wanna get away from your two toddlers. I’ve bought games for consoles and PCs for more than I’ve spent on this game and they have been significantly worse. Sure, there’s bugs. Okay, yes, whales (people that spend a lot on micro-transactions) ruin your PvP experience, but that doesn’t happen unless you’re good at PvP and over 3k rated. Also, PvP is like 1/4 the game. The campaign is great and the dungeons are great. Except the second boss of Gnomeregan, god, electrocutioner 6000 is a see you next Tuesday. I do not understand the mentality of people who spend money on mobile games or complain about having to spend money on mobile games. You are literally paying money to finish the game faster. Isn’t the whole point to waste time so you don’t have to think about how the awful reality is? Anyways 7/5 with rice
I had high hopes for this game. I’ve been playing Clash Royale since it came out and I’ve been looking for something to replace it. I thought this game would be it but unfortunately it is not. From the get go it barely piqued my interest and I felt I had to power through the tutorial. Barely any explanation as to how counters work or what the card types are. You pretty much just keep spamming cards until someone spams more. The only level of strategy is the miner you put out to get more gold in order to out spam your opponent. Personal gripe here that I can’t see the whole battlefield at once and have to constantly keep scrolling around, makes hard to really anticipate and play your opponent. Game loop is this; place a troop, scroll up to see enemy, oh they played a card in this lane, scroll down, place my card in that same lane to fight their card, scroll up, oh they placed another card in another lane, scroll down, place a card in that lane, repeat this process for the next 3 minutes until someone wins. The other sad part is that I’m early on and I can already see how the micro transactions will only get worse the longer you play. The game is quick to shove a bunch of progression at you at the beginning to make you feel good but that will wear off and the real progress will rely on how much you’re willing to pay. The game is still on my phone but each time I open it I lose all motivation to play.
Really fun game right from the start. Easy for all ages yet has enough depth to become very competitive. I love building teams while also being able to choose and unlock known heroes throughout the Warcraft universe. I think the pace of the game is fun so far and the mechanics on each map help spice things up. It’s a breath of fresh air to play this mobile game and I’m sure some will try and compare to “Clash Royal” but this game is really on it’s own level. The sound effects, music, and interfaces are all FLAWLESS. It’s what you would expect from Blizzard and more. I am really looking forward to dungeons, raids, and PvP. I hope they expand upon these modes and build progression systems that have depth and strategy to them. I also hope they add more customization to the teams you build. Overall this is a fantastic game that anyone can enjoy. You don’t need to know everything about World of Warcraft to get started. However, having played WoW makes it all that much better!! Familiar characters, areas, and abilities in a brand new incredible game that is filled with action and mechanics that keep you interested in what’s going to happen next. Highly recommend this game.
More p2w packs than the actual game contents. Leveling has no meaning as after 1-2 maps, the enemy out levels you again. Only 1 randomly picked mini gets any exp after a run, which fills only 1% of what it needs to level up, so basically can’t even grind. Only way to level up is with cash, which a couple dozens of bucks only takes you 2-3 more maps. Too many traps being sold that are aimed to fake users with no way to revert it and takes tremendous amount to fix. Everything is randomized and need to pay to reroll; everything that can be retried and the user may use reroll to their advantage is fixed. All maps starting at a losing stage, all map gimmicks are designed against the player. Strategy takes no place as only 1-2 level difference already destroys any compatibility. Game forces you to level at least five out of six regions and you’re stuck from advancing if you miss on any one of them, but it takes 6 weeks rotation to even consider leveling as all leveling contents whether paid or pve are blocked for that period. That is just the pve portion that any new player will confront at day 1. Wouldn’t even consider playing unless you’re willing to spend hundreds(if that even gets you anywhere) or planning to go slow and unlock a new stage every few weeks. Sincerely wish Blizzard would go back to its game craftsmanship instead of making empty nutshells asking for fast cash.
If they added global exp from mini (mobs) trading and changed the way chests drop items: gold/exp and added a boss middle which gave a buff +gold and changed the position of towers or requirements on tower order like other moba game so people actually contested them this game could be fit for ESports arena. I’d also love to see a 2v2 and 3v3 competitive more with more objectives and towers that can manage big pushes you’d see this game spike for a lot of players looking to jump away from league. This game is simple right now which makes it fun but so was LoL at first and as it got better and the content became more advanced yet simple the game took over. This game needs to advance strategically because atm you just rush right side and drop unbound for gold points and everyone is using the same mobs isolating the meta to very few minis. You need to create reason for other minis to shine and objectives and power dynamics helps with balancing. Game has the potential to be amazing as long as blizzard pulls back on this horrible pay wall opens it up to free to play and focuses on map and character skins vs. A horrible pay wall! WARNING: pay wall is very bad!!!
I’ve had this game roughly since launch and I would absolutely not recommend it. The game seems flashy and fun at times, and it’s exciting to win, but the more you play, the less you win, and by wider and wider margins. The AI opponents in this game are overwhelmingly difficult, even when you’ve played a long time. Strategy completely goes out the window when the game sends endless waves of enemies at you (Blizzard claims the AI has the same amount of money you do, but with five seconds of observing the game, you’ll see the AI has a limitless gold supply). The game starts out feeling a bit like a puzzle game, finding the best strategies to beat bosses and work around other players in PvP. But this drops off after a certain point and players are actually punished both for trying new teams and for sticking to their reliable teams. The game constantly gives you incentives to spend money, and I’m sad to say that I’ve spent a fair bit on this game. It seems exciting, getting that dopamine hit of leveling a leader or unlocking a new mini…until you realize that leveling up one character just makes the entire game harder across the board. Like I said earlier, this game wants players to spend money, but punishes them for getting better. I would never, ever recommend this game, based on this alone.
Very fun game. You can play for a very long time without having to feel like you need to buy anything. If you ever give them money go for the arclight booster (it continues to give benefits the more you play). I’ve played over a year and never felt like I was not able to play the way I want because I haven’t given money. They also do a very good job of introducing new units and adding new features. This game runs VERY poorly. On my much older iPhone (XR) this game turns my phone into a heater. It gets extremely hot (which is just wasting battery life). This runs well on a 4th generation iPad Air. This runs incredibly poorly on an 2021 M1 Max MacBook Pro with 32GB RAM. It will heat up the laptop, turn on the fans and the laptop will recognize that the cause is this silly little game. Sometimes the game will chug and the framerate will drop to single digits. Sometimes the game just doesn’t recognize clicks (as the framerate drops happen). Also on the phone the game crashes pretty often. If the issue was ONLY that my older iPhone XR runs poorly I feel like that may be understandable. The fact that it also runs poorly on a MUCH more powerful laptop shows that they’re not putting enough effort into optimizations.
I don’t like mobile games. I actually wish I could play this on my pc. I try mobile games all the time because of their convenience, but never stick with them. I just don’t like playing games on my phone for a number of reasons that I won’t get into. This game, however, is very good. I’m not very good at it yet, as I’m getting used to its more unique nuances compared to similar games, but I’m always able to eventually pass a mission I get stuck on without having to spend money or grind for hours. It’s fun to play, it’s quick, and it’s adorable. The perks in other games from it are appreciated as always. Nice work, Blizz. I do get stuck on 50% loading sometimes when launching. It’s usually bypassed by forcing an update check in the App Store or restarting my phone, but it would be super cool if that got fixed soon. Otherwise the connection seems to be pretty good. I’ve only disconnected while on reliable wi-fi maybe twice over the last couple days. It doesn’t seem to be able to hold a connection to the servers if another app has taken priority for more than maybe 30 seconds, but I’m pretty sure that’s just the phone.
