War Thunder Mobile is an impressive technical feat, managing to cram the massive scale of the PC/Console version's vehicular combat into a handheld format without losing its soul. The damage model remains the star of the show—hitting a fuel tank or knocking out a pilot feels infinitely more satisfying than simply depleting a standard health bar. It demands a level of tactical patience that is rare in the mobile shooter market.

While the controls take some getting used to due to the sheer number of mechanics involved (ranging from tank angling to flight maneuvers), the 'Dynamic Aim' assistance helps bridge the gap for mobile players. The visual fidelity is stunning, particularly the lighting effects on different armor surfaces. It is a grind, as any free-to-play title of this scope is, but the gameplay loop of researching and mastering historical machines is consistently rewarding for military history buffs.

Great, only some issues

I’ve been playing mobile for about 2 years now, I would say overall it’s a 8/10, tanks are well modeled, great graphics for mobile, simple progression, but there comes the first problem, the time it takes to go from tier 1 to tier 2 compared to tier 4 to tier 5 is astronomically different, while rp/xp is not a problem, silver lions is what holds people back from enjoying and obtaining those more modern tanks, I think there should be some type of rework to the cost of certain vechicles, I don’t expect people to reach top tier in a day, but it shouldn’t take people over a thousand hours to just reach 1 top tier, I get gaijin wants money and that’s okay, they’re a business after all, but they still need to respect their playerbases’s time, you can only enjoy a game so long until it just becomes unbelievably repetitive. I see other reviews complaining about overpowered premiums, I don’t see what they’re talking about, I’ve never spent a dime on the game and have never had a issue killing premiums, most of them are just copies of the normal tanks anyway, and others do have a learning curve to find their weak spot but they aren’t overpowered by any means. Please gaijin, consider reworking silver lions, whether it be increasing the reward for them, or adjusting the price of tanks, something needs to change in order for the game to consistently be fun and enjoyable, the game shouldn’t feel like you just pour endless hours to obtain a single platoon. After playing War Thunder on PC for about 6 months as of writing this review I’m really enjoying this mobile port of the game. I was pleasantly surprised that some rewards I earn on mobile, such as the boat that is up right now, was granted to my PC account as well. The controls aren’t too bad for mobile and it has all the same maps, munitions for the vehicles that are included, and you have a way to earn gold eagles. That said the is a lack of an air only mode and control over what plane you could come in but it’s the same on arcade on PC/console so that isn’t the worst. New Platinum “wolves” are the new premium currency which is strange when they already had gold eagles but I’m playing free to play so it doesn’t affect me. Also vehicle lineups are predetermined and these new “platoons” need to be leveled up to get the other 3 vehicles to spawn in once your first tank/truck is destroyed. Even then it isn’t that bad, you can earn silver lions and gold eagles to buy premium vehicles for free essentially if you don’t mind sitting through ads. That also means ads are not popping up on screen since they are built into getting small amounts of currency and other resources or challenge progress. I haven’t tried naval yet but wouldn’t know the difference since I’ve barely touched it on PC. If you want to keep your daily log in progress, just the days not the rewards for PC, logging into the mobile app while you are away or too busy to open up your console/PC. I’ve read no rewards for the main port of the game when you log in on mobile will be saved but give. The fact that they are usually boosts they most likely would have expired by the time you get back. Anyways if you download glhf.

Not Enough Modes to Play

There needs to be more game modes in War Thunder Mobile like an arcade mode and realistic mode that is almost or exactly like War Thunder not on mobile. For example a ground arcade which is like what is in now, then a realistic mode which had no cross hair where you can penetrate and have to use a rangefinder if needed and also at lower ranks or all the way through being able to bring aircraft in and also for realistic have spawn points which are given when getting any type of hit, regular or critical, a target destroyed, a assist, or capturing a point. And how the spawn points would work is you can spawn in 2 tanks no madder what because you will start off with 450 spawn points (sp) and the first ground vehicle will cost 100 spawn points (sp) and the next would cost 200 spawn points (sp) and you keep adding 100 spawn points (sp) and the first aircraft if it’s a fighter would be 480 spawn points (sp) for the first bomber it would cost 720 spawn points (sp) strike aircraft could be 600 spawn points (sp). And for ground the realistic they would work more like the actual vehicle. While realistic for air you would get 1 plane no spawn points and there would be no lead indicator and the plane would behave almost exactly like the real thing. For naval you wouldn’t really change anything I don’t think. So please take this into consideration for the next big update like for New Years or Christmas if possible, thank you.

This game is amazing, but there is some changes that would make it a lot better and a lot more popular like the explosions come on man when you drop a 1000 pound bomb it looks like a 50 pound bomb and also the bomb is the explosion is not that realistic it is just like smoke there’s no fire or anything like that really also you should add different different modes like realistic mode arcade mode but but then where we could also choose maps we want to play on and on the maps and on realistic mode, there would be people that would actually actually be driving the ships and tanks in aircraft carriers like on the PC version to where we could actually dive bomb on the carriers. Also, can you make the game a little bit more grinding? It is kind of too easy and also maybe add more weather to wear like waves would be bigger and there would be smoking and stuff and clouds when you’re in a plane and like I said. Be nice if you could add aircraft carriers. make it to where there’s different maps we could choose in different modes we could choose to play like arcade real also mode to where there’s people that would actually be driving the ships and actually be driving the tank so we could be bombing real people and be bombing real people that are driving tanks so that would be cool. Thank you and thank you for the amazing game.

I love this update. I’ve always wanted to have decals in this game and can you also please add details for achieving for getting a certain plane and reaching a certain level on one nation, notations by reaching a certain level, basically by getting a certain jet or plane excuse me, Mr. 🐌 entertainment I put this now cause I do not know how to spell the first word in your company name. Can you please add the Chi-Ha LG as a Japanese premium in the German tech tree at rank three? Can you add the Iraqi T 72 but into the next event and the new Turkish home built main battle tank and the flag customization option for tanks and ships and please make the rewards better in air and tanks and ships. I want to play a game where I got over 1000 damage I played multiple games are 1000 damage. I did not even get 100,000 silver lines so please make the rewards better in all game modes and please add a zombie apocalypse game mode for next Halloween. A zombie apocalypse game mode is available for ships tanks and aircraft for aircraft. It’s by planes and slowly goes up the brakes until eventually there’s no players remaining and please make it so you can buy extra decals slots for golden eagles and one extra decal slot equals 100 golden eagle and please add quest that can give you platinum wolves

Remove auto tracking

Game is really good for a phone but there’s still a bunch of things that need work. First let me say how aggravating the auto tracking feature is in tank battles exclusively. For air and ship battles it makes sense but in tank battle it is so frustrating lining up a shot only to have it auto turn your canon and shoot the wall next to your target. And unfortunately it can’t be turned off as you can in air battles. Why, I have no idea as it purely makes no sense in tank battles. It has a manual mode but it auto engages every time you see another tank and has to be manually turned off each time, which by the time your able to do that your already dead. It causes me to miss about 90% of my shots that I would have hit. PLEASE GAIJIN LET ME DISABLE AUTO AIM ENTIRELY. A couple things I also don’t like, controller support is clunky and overly complex controls for scope and zooming. The main menu uses a mouse cursor on controller which makes it difficult to navigate. I also will mention the maps on the mobile version are smaller versions of the regular maps on pc so all the cheeky hiding spots have been cropped out :( Lastly I’ll say that I’ve played the pc version for maybe 10 years now and none of my account data is usable here. I have some very rare tanks I would love to use in this game but unfortunately have to start all over. Overall it’s a great game but hindered massively by this auto aim feature. Also please allow changing of reticle color in air battles, it nearly impossible to see where your aiming due to the reticle changing to red when it’s near an enemy, which is the same color as the player name and indicator, the reticle becomes invisible because of this.

When I first started, this game was great! The controls were simple and easy to learn, and the tanks were accurately modeled and detailed amazingly! The first few matches were fun and saw a lot of action, until you advance just ONE tier higher. Premiums flooded the map, people who joined 3 minutes ago and payed a few bucks to get a good tank. It’s impossible to penetrate these premiums and where you can get through there is nothing to destroy. The free tanks have virtually no armor and it takes forever to reload your gun that will inevitably just bounce right off. If you rely on your team, I Guarantee that they will drive right by your flaming T 34 while you desperately try to defend yourself from the entire enemy team. If you try to push a point or attack a position, expect zero support and your entire team cowering behind rocks. There are also many other problems such as artillery shells doing nothing against anything that has a millimeter of armor, crew that can withstand anything from a 75mm AP round to the head or fuel exploding right behind them. Your track will fall off if you hit something going 4 inches per hour, and teammates that apparently cant see what’s happening right in front of them. If you play this game, I warn of a frustrating play through and painful experience. This game has a lot of potential but there’s a lot that needs to happen before that.

It’s still ridiculous with the match making. Going against an entire team with 3000 matches is insane. The research points that you gain in matches is not good either. Unless you pay for boosters. Only jets on tanks and you get shot down in two secs cause it’s tanks and nobody cares for air battles. Aviation needs jets. It’s boring. Whole game is boring with just PvP. No in game missions or objectives. The whole point system is dumb and unfair. Making you just pay for stuff. Which I won’t. I’m not gonna pay for a vehicle to then get obliterated every game. You’ll grind for a vehicle to unlock to then grind a million silver to buy it…. While needing three other vehicle in the same tank to compete in that rank. It’s just a ridiculous cash grab gacha game. Also you won’t ever be great. You may get good at this game. That’s it though. People emulate it on pc and play with mouse and keyboards. After rank 5 it’s just a slaughter and your the prey. It’s just a buy now pay later scam game. They don’t even have a British tree for aviation yet have spitfires for tank campaign… and jets. All the 5 star reviews are from bots/sellouts. This game does everything to get you spend money. It does not care for you hard work or grinding. Just buy your way up. Even if you win a special vehicle or buy it…. You’ll still die. The game is trash. Just save your money and buy a console or pc and play real games!!! This game will never be what it once was it’s a sellout has been and thats all war thunder will Ever be!!!
