Vikingard is a comprehensive Norse RPG where players lead their own tribe to glory. The game combines city-building mechanics with tactical hero collection. You will command valiant warriors and Valkyries, embark on dangerous voyages across Europe, and engage in strategic alliance clashes. Beyond the battlefield, you can experience romantic stories, raise heirs, and even train pets to accompany you in life and war.

Our Expert Score

82/100

Vikingard is much more than your typical mobile city-builder; it is a sprawling Norse epic that successfully balances gritty management with romantic subplots and intense tactical combat. The art style is genuinely impressive, featuring high-quality animations for the 'Hersirs' you collect. Managing your tribe feels personal because the game forces you to make decisions during voyages that have actual consequences for your territory's growth.

What sets it apart is the 'Heir' system and the romantic sagas. It’s not just about raiding; it’s about building a legacy. Dating various companions and raising heirs to become battlefield assistants adds a layer of RPG progression that is surprisingly engaging. While the gacha elements are present, the sheer amount of content—from alliance clashes to pet training—ensures that free-to-play players have plenty to do. It’s a polished, deep experience that captures the Viking spirit perfectly.

So awesome and well balanced

Been playing for a couple months now, it started off a little overwhelming just because I wasn’t used to it, but the game introduces you the many different aspects of it in layers and intervals. It is very well balanced with other things to do but it does not stray far from its main content. You don’t have to pay to play. Like many games it helps when start getting competitive, but there wasn’t a need to pay to progress and have fun. Always ways to get coins so you can grind and save up. The catch up dynamics of the game does not interfere with the game’s process or dilute the game for older players. But since this game is so fun and addictive, the only drawback it’s you can burn yourself out in the later stages, like all games. But so far this game has kept me playing. There is no need to be on it everyday unless you are in a competitive clan(which is understandable). Great game all around, for any type of player, casual or hardcore or just trying to kill some time. Got nothing to lose by downloading theirs game.

This isn’t what I signed up for but okay 😀 I LOVE IT! ❤️❤️❤️

Ok first I just want to say this is a PRETTY good game, but improvements can be made. My main point is in the screenshots/photos I looked at before getting the game were exciting. Like I thought I would snuggle my pets have the choice for my heirs and the ability to play in first person. When I started, you know what I got… THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE OF THE PICTURES!!! 😤I went and got my first heir like two weeks ago now I have had like 14, but I didn’t get to choose anything but what name it had and then when it became old enough I got to choose “Would you like so and so to be an archer, spearman, or a warrior” I clicked archer and it to my best archer… THEN WHAT? They get married and do nothing for me? Like I somewhat created you, but I RAISED YOU, and you still betray me? 😔Me just wanted to have fun, but then I said “let’s be stupid and our hopes high that we can snuggle wolves, and bears today” 😏 Ten seconds after I realize it’s not like the picture either: ☠️DUDE I WAS SO DOWN ABOUT THE HEIRS AND FIRST POV, BUT TO DO ME DIRTY AND GIVE FAKE PHOTOS OF MANIPULATING/ HAVING FUN WITH WOLVES AND OTHER DANGEROUS PREDATORS IS JUST UNBELIEVABLE! Okay, im sorry to be the negative Nancy on this but at least give us real photos cause the game is awesome even without the petty lies about heirs, first pov, and bonding with pets. 🥳 THIS GAME IS STILL AWESOME, BUT NOBODY LIKES LIARS, NOT EVEN OTHER LIARS!

Love the game but it costs too much

Love everything about this app, but eventually you have to pay thousands of dollars to compete or you get left behind while the server dies. Its very confusing at first, but once you understand how its all connected, it is a really well designed app. There are a few things I take issue with: 1. The rewards are not worth the money spent, 2. Unless you can log in fast enough, Medusa dies before you can get a hit in (I often can’t log in before 6pm CST every day and she is dead by 6:01 on my server - a lot of people have left the server or given up trying to get enough tears to collect the lover), 3. Clash lasts from Wednesday through Saturday and unless you are in a large alliance or have hundreds to spend every Saturday as well as the time to sit there ALL DAY, you have already lost. Clash lasts too long and elevates my blood pressure, haha. 4. The pet realm lasts only half an hour on Sunday when I am already in bed, and 5. Unless you spend hundreds more, you don’t get the special companions… and even then only those willing to spend $2k get the companions special look. My hubby quit playing because of the pet realm time limit and I am quitting because I prefer to spend my money on more satisfying things like ice cream and my house payment.

I love this game

This game released in June 2022 and there was a beta before that iirc. The game was rough in it’s early stages but within the past year it has really polished itself. I went through and read reviews from the earlier times and I agree with them. But things are not all applicable anymore so keep that in mind as you read through reviews. I really like the UI and that was what initially hooked me. In some games I cannot figure out what the “gameplay loop” is supposed to be. But in Vikingard it’s all straightforward and other people don’t mind helping. (I never ask for help in a game’s chat usually but everyone legit seems cool.) Support is great and I have always gotten a timely reply to any issues I have encountered. And yes, that was when I was strictly F2P for the first few months and even when I started getting VIP levels. A player is a player to them, in my experience. I saw someone complain that support uses some kind of bot auto-replies?? The replies do use a template but issues are directly addressed within the reply. It’s not like they are sending everyone the same exact generic reply. I leave feedback all of the time in the in-game customer feedback section of the uh Customer Service menu. And I have noticed my feedback being used or at least there’s been a bunch of coincidences. 😂

I started playing this about 3 1/2 months ago. I almost removed the app, lol it had so much going on it was overwhelming! I stuck with it and have gotten used to all the bells and whistles. I like the fact that they have a lot going on, never a dull moment! If I do not feel like doing one thing I have a lot more to choose from ! One reason I like this is because if I have a busy day I can jump in and do my daily stuff and still grow without spending a lot of time with it. The one thing I have a problem with is as woman I would rather have men as my companions than the female ones, lol but it would take me a lot longer to have the heirs I would need that way too, so I do se the need. But come on, women do play this too you know. You can grow without spending a lot of money here too. I get the small monthly pack to get the daily gold I need and that’s about it, $10 a month. So it is easy on the pocketbook!

Cheaply Made Game

I know it was gonna be bad because it had one of those cheesy ads on TikTok, but it’s not even polished as a game. First, I chose the female character to play as, and it seems like the developers never made any interface for playing as the female heir—everything from the companions to the voice lines assume that you’re playing as the male character. Plus the kid I adopted has a voice line that says “Thanks Father!” when I’m playing as a woman. Also when you choose the character model for the kid, it doesn’t show up on screen as the character you chose, they sometimes even show up as the opposite gender. On an off-note, I also had the same problem as other people where my game resets after exiting the app. Overall, this game is dumb, if they’re trying to do a gacha system, at least make it more appealing. It’s clear they gave all their money into artists for the companion art instead of investing in game development/design. If you’re looking for better art, animation, gameplay, play: Blue Archive, Genshin Impact, FGO, and stay away from this garbage.

Not another P2W

The game starts off great, with a ton of content to keep you going. The problem? You very quickly find out that in order to compete with other players, you will have to spend a lot of cash. After playing for about a month, the game feels like a holly wood set, it seems like it had a ton of content, but it’s actually a very shallow mirage. It makes you think it’s a multilayered, we’ll crafted game, but it’s not. No strategy involved with this one. It’s just, gather or buy resources, dump them into your characters, then play the various, shallow mini games that just become tedious after doing them so many times. The final and probably the most important note for you all, cross server events. So the server I joined was new, they stopped allowing new players to join only a few days after it opened, then the server died over the course of the next two weeks. What do you think the solution was to this problem? You guessed it! They opened us up to other servers that started two weeks ahead of ours. Now you may ask, why is this a problem? To put it simply, it became impossible to compete with players who had the head start. The alliance I joined was the top ranking in our server, but that meant nothing once we had to compete with players who were two weeks ahead of us. With their massive lead, they crushed us in the pvp events, which was not even fair. Unless you are willing to throw money away, I recommend you take a pass on this one.

Very pay heavy

Has multiple season passes and appears the main season pass is 50 dollars. 50 dollars is by far the most any game charged for a season pass. They release servers way to slow. Game just started and appears to be slow and now a lot of whales started showing up in all servers. I would avoid this game and company and go play a different game. This game takes greed and hinds things in progress. Like the 50 dollar season pass, I would of never spent if I seen that but you unlock that later. They do this with a lot of content. With all the whales now, you will be kicked to make room for them. This is bad and not a first come first serve. Like if someone joins alliance, later in the day someone who has way more power and is a whale will take your spot. This is a bad system. If someone joins a alliance, you should not be kicked with in 48 hours. They should make all money grabs at the start of the game so you can see how mad it will get farther into story. Game is a big scam, I recommend other games that are not this company.
