Space Ace is the groundbreaking interactive animated game from the creative genius Don Bluth. You play as the heroic Ace, who must rescue the beautiful Kimberly and stop Commander Borf from using his Infanto Ray to turn the Earth's population into babies. This mobile version features video transferred from the stunning HD master, offering visual quality far superior to the original laserdisc. Navigate perilous paths and blast aliens with simple d-pad and fire controls in this timeless classic.

Space Ace is a legendary piece of arcade history, and this mobile port is the most beautiful version of it I've ever seen. Using the high-definition master files instead of old laserdisc transfers makes the Don Bluth animation look absolutely breathtaking on a modern screen. The colors are vibrant, and the lines are crisp, making it feel like you're playing a high-budget animated film.
For those who didn't grow up in the arcades, be warned: the game is notoriously difficult. It relies on perfect timing and 'quick-time event' style reflexes. However, the satisfaction of finally nailing a sequence and seeing the story progress is immense. It’s a pure shot of nostalgia for some and a fascinating look at the history of interactive cinema for others. A 2GB download is a lot, but for animation of this quality, it's entirely worth it.

Success in Space Ace is all about observation and timing. Watch for flashes on the screen—these indicate the direction you need to move or when you need to fire your laser. Practice on 'Cadet' mode to learn the sequences before moving up to 'Captain' or 'Ace' for the true arcade-difficulty experience.
Gameplays
The game is a cinematic experience where the player must input specific directions or actions at precise moments to keep the animation going. Failure to do so results in a hilarious death animation and the loss of a life.

NO SOUND
Tue Dec 25 2018 NorthWinterholdThe game is identical to the original laser disc game. However, there is NO SOUND to the game. No options for sound/music like all others games on App Store. Also, the control arrows make it difficult to play. If you enjoy games with no sound, this one is for you. I WOULD NOT have bought it for $4.99 if I knew there was no sound available on this game. So I give it “1” star because of that.

Sat Mar 14 2020 Rob MayetteThis awesome game used to work beautifully on my iPhone 5s. Now on my iPhone 11 Pro there is STILL no sound even though that problem was reported over a year ago. This game should be fixed or removed from the App Store.
