Smallestviolin is a quirky, hyper-casual rhythm game that lives and dies by its sense of humor. It’s essentially a 'sadness simulator' where you have to play the world's smallest violin in time with various tragic (and often hilarious) scenarios. The mechanic is dead simple: tap and slide to maintain the pitch of the violin as the 'sob story' unfolds on screen.
While the gameplay isn't deep, the scenarios are what make it worth a download. It’s a great 'joke' app to show friends. However, as a game, it suffers from a lack of long-term progression. Once you've seen all the sad stories, there isn't much reason to return unless you're a high-score chaser. It’s a polished, funny, and very self-aware experience that perfectly fits the 'meme game' genre. It's best enjoyed in short bursts when you need a quick laugh.
Hilarious 'Sad Story' scenarios
Unique slide-based rhythm gameplay
Charming minimalist art style
High-quality violin sound effects
To get a 'Perfect' score, you must follow the blue curve with your finger exactly. Sliding too fast or too slow will make the violin squeak, causing the crying characters to get angry.
Play through 20 different scenarios, from 'Dropped Ice Cream' to 'Unrequited Love.' Each level features a unique musical track and increasing rhythmic complexity.
Yes, you can compare your 'Sympathy Score' with players globally for each scenario.
Beyond basic....only 1 song really for "whiners" and it plays a piano in the background as well...wut?!?! Lol...Whatever, I've spent a dollar on worse things...strippers aren't one of them fyi
No sound. Check device and other apps. Restarted the app still not working.
I find myself using this app nearly every week and I absolutely love it and the music. There are, however, a variety of new functions it could use. 1. Song titles available that fade in and then fade away after a small amount of time after switching to a new violin color. 2. The ability to use personal music in the app, as in allowing you to drag in your own music and then personalize the violin color to your liking for said song. 3. An auto-play function that will allow it to play in the background and/or without having to place your finger on the screen. If any or all of these were to be implemented I would gladly pay $2.99 to $3.99 for this app and recommend it to family and friends.
Look no further. My sarcastic needs have been met I literally use this every day. Also I love the basic design.
It's running well now! Can't wait to try it at work!
Easy to use and definitely the best design out there. Good graphics, no bugs.
This app is a total ripoff! Paid for this app and couldn’t complete the download because it’s so out of date and requires a update that was needed YEARS AGO apparently. Charges now disputed and going to report this !
It will work for a few minutes and then won’t make sound anymore. Have uninstalled and reinstalled, don’t know what the problem is.
