Shattered Dimension is a brilliant addition to the premium action roguelike lineup on mobile. It excels at crafting a heavy, isolating atmosphere, leaning into striking neon-on-gloom art design and an ominous electronic soundtrack that pairs perfectly with the cosmic horror themes. The touch-screen movement controls are incredibly snappy, which is a massive relief given how tightly packed and chaotic some of the later combat arenas become.
The real joy of the game lies in its build variety. Stacking a fire-rate upgrade with an ice-trail matrix and a ricochet module can turn a standard laser pistol into a room-clearing tool of absolute destruction. It occasionally suffers from visual clutter during late-stage runs, where it becomes difficult to separate enemy attacks from your own flashy special effects, but the sheer mechanical satisfaction and deep progression loop make it an absolute must-play for roguelike enthusiasts.
Procedurally generated environments ensuring completely unique run layouts
Diverse roster of unlockable characters with distinct special abilities
Over two hundred synergizing items, alien artifacts, and weapon matrices
Deep permanent metagame progression system between deaths
Intense, screen-filling boss fights that challenge your tactical reflexes
Prioritize clearing minor rifts first to secure baseline nanite currency before challenging elite mini-boss encounters. When choosing room rewards, balance aggressive weapon modules with defensive shield matrix nodes, as health regeneration points are incredibly scarce across deep multidimensional floors.
Players engage in swift twin-stick combat, managing precise dodge-dash cooldown counters to slide through incoming waves of neon enemy projectiles. Defeating boss encounters unlocks dimensional anchors, allowing you to choose temporary synergizing perks that fundamentally alter your active weapon fire patterns.
Yes, you lose all temporary items and weapon mods gathered during that specific run, but you retain core data fragments used to purchase permanent base upgrades.
It’s challenging but the puzzles are engaging, fun, and very rewarding once you solve each. There’s so much content here and the setup, with discovering new people as you go, sets the perfect pace. There’s a few puzzles that seem random or nonsensical (who knew you needed to tap the fish and even when you do the feedback from each fish is almost non-existent, it’s a frustrating puzzle). Overall, I highly recommend this game and all Cotton Games.
Having played every CottonGame title and loving all of them but two, I have absolutely no idea what’s going on here! I will report back later. Ok, I’m back and I got it. Lots of fun, tons of original puzzles, layered and hard at times. Of course it’s drawn wonderfully. I will say that the opening of the game was pretty confusing as where to start and what to do (even after playing pretty much every escape room game in the App Store). It sort of bombards you with a bunch of text and talk boxes. So don’t give up or give it at bad review just because you don’t get it initially. Overall, I like it. The one criticism I have is jumping back and forth a lot between the screens, other than that, I like!
I’ve been a faithful patron of cotton games since I was in school (I’ve graduated). You guys have always been my favorite developer and way to exercise observational skills. This game has topped them all. I love the unique gameplay, diversity of puzzles, and episodic stories (we get five individual stories in one instead of a continuous one). I’d happily invest in a sequel to this.
Loved this game. Couldn’t put it down. Some easy puzzles , some harder but all doable. Especially enjoyed the gameplay, storylines, and layout. Please make more of these
I love Cotton games! This one was different than the usual, without landscapes - a nice variant. I wonder what you will do next!
That’s about all there is to say. So much fun! Such great puzzles! Good generous length! Loved this game so much.
