Stability improvements and new shop offers.
Retro Highway is a high-speed love letter to 16-bit arcade racers like Hang-On. It perfectly captures that 'just one more run' feeling by pairing tight, responsive controls with a progression system that constantly gives you something to aim for. The pixel art is vibrant, and the 60 FPS gameplay makes the sense of speed feel genuine and exhilarating.
The challenge level is high but fair; as the traffic gets denser and the speed increases, it becomes a true test of reflexes. Unlocking new bikes and environments provides a satisfying sense of variety, and the daring 'close-call' mechanics reward risky play. It’s a perfect mobile game—easy to pick up for two minutes but deep enough to keep you hooked for an hour. If you have any nostalgia for the arcade era, this is an easy recommendation.
Smooth 60 FPS old-school action
Six unique environments to explore and master
Dozens of unlockable and customizable motorcycles
Global leaderboards and daring achievement system
Charming pixel art and retro sound effects
To unlock bikes faster, focus on completing the specific 'Challenges' listed in the menu. Also, performing 'Near Misses' with traffic grants a score and coin multiplier.
Each bike has different stats for speed and handling. Some are better for highway survival, while others are built for pure speed records. Choose your bike based on your current objective.
The game contains ads, but they can be removed with a one-time in-app purchase.
This game is a salute to some of the great arcade racing games. Games like Super Hang-on, Outrun, and Pole Position. If you have ever played any of these games, then give this a try. Big tip: to get that full arcade feel, hold your tablet close to your face, just inches away. Your on a bike, collecting coins, dodging traffic. You got your turbo boost, and can do some crazy crashes. Think of Retro Highway as one as the home console version of today. You can get the Crazy Taxi arcade version in the App Store, but you get the Crazy Taxi version on your Dreamcast or Steam you get the base game, plus extras. That is what you get here. You can unlock upgrades, new locations, and new bikes which help you progress. Instead of paying a quarter for five minutes of gameplay or one round, this game costs a download, a tap to start, and an ad or two.
What i love: Objectives change and therefor you can play each level over and over with a different approach. You can try to not crash and set new distance achievement. This is fun on its own. Its also fun to try to reach more specific objectives. What could be improved: The gameplay is awesome. I am still playing. The level design could be more interesting. Unlocking new levels is fun, but newer levels are more like obstacle courses, taking the joy out of joy riding. My biggest complaint is that sometimes the level design is a little flat and unrealistic. Like a two way road that just ends. What about a progression through varying types of scenery, Or a fork in the road?. What about being able to get off the beaten track every once in a while. That could be fun. Like jumping on and over bridges. How about making this game a little more scenic, like the corn fields in the first level. Details that feel more genuine and maybe even more realistic. For example the, downtown, level feels a little flat(ie buildings and backgrounds). It could be more immersive while still retaining the retro feel.
The gameplay is fantastic. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that there is only 1 fun level: the original. The only reason to switch to the others is when a mission calls for it. Otherwise there’s too many hazards or turns to have any fun. Candy land is a motion sickness-prone nightmare. There’s a pickup that makes the screen blurry that’s as no fun as a level that mostly consists of two lanes and one way traffic, during a steep turn. All inconsistent with the game’s best ideas: going way too fast while burning nitro and weaving between both lanes of traffic, catching all the jumps and boosts you can. I was excited to unlock the moon, but there’s too many tunnels and overhead hazards to risk a jump, which defeats the point of a low gravity level. Why not double down on the idea and have nothing to wreck you on a jump and make them even higher? I like difficulty, but not at the cost of fun. They don’t give nearly enough coins for how short the runs usually are.
To start with, the gameplay is amazing. I really enjoy the way the game feels and the stunt system is intuitive. A couple things that I believe could be improved: firstly, the scenery and level design feels a little same-y after a while, and quite flat. New objects could help with this like a bridge or a fork in the road. I also believe the game could benefit from different things to replace nitro with (jump boost, as an example) and benefit from more power ups rather than just 3. The bike system is good but I wish there was a stronger difference between bikes, rather than just a small increase in speed and manueverability (maybe a special ability or something for a bike, or just making the higher end bikes a little bit faster) overall though a phenomenal game that feels great to play
I love this game and I have so much fun with it! I love how fun it is to play over and over again and I love how paying to get rid of ads is 100% worth it! There is just one thing. It’s been 2 years and there has not been any content updates. The online and in-game leaderboards are great and keep me playing but the game needs something new. I love how you still fix bugs and other things and I think it’s great but with 2 years of no content, I can only hope more will be added some day in the future. Even if it’s only a few small things, the game needs it. Besides that, I love this game and I hope you keep supporting it!
The purchases are nice, a little bit of cash goes a long way. Wish they would offer a motorcycle that is slower... why pay more for a motorcycle that is going too darn fast. Another note for developers: the menu UI is counterintuitive. Might watch some new players try out the game for thirty minutes to see what I mean. When you’ve paused the game, it’s too easy to accidentally end it and go back to menu. Also when your selecting a stage, once it’s selected it should go back to the menu, so you can play immediately.
I had a lot of fun with this game. I probably put in around 10-20 hours. I love the retro graphics combined with fluid gameplay. When you get the bikes that handle well, you truly get immersed into the game. Weaving in and out while avoiding deadly obstacles. That being said, getting to the higher bikes is an absolute chore (without $$$). The tasks to earn in game coins are free, however there’s only 10-15 tasks. This may seem like a lot, but you’ll get through them very quickly. Once complete, they recycle the same tasks with higher numbers. So now I have to fly off 40 ramps. But it takes 5 minutes for 40 Ramos to even appear. All in all, I enjoyed the game and would highly recommend.
I love this retro racing app! It isn’t too hard and it’s easy to control. I love all the characters and places you can get by getting coins and doing tasks, though I wish there would be more characters. Because I have all the places and characters you can get, and it’s getting a little boring. Also, I wish there were “power ups” instead of just the fuel thing. And just WHY are the characters so expensive? I know I said I already have all the characters but before that, I hated how many coins the characters costed. Other than all that, I think this is a wonderful game.

Coins have been replaced by advertisements, but otherwise Scrap Divers could easily be mistaken for a traditional arcade game.
