Featuring simple, responsive controls and a striking low-poly visual style, the game challenges you to weave through lanes and avoid catastrophic collisions. Earn credits to upgrade your vehicle's performance and unlock a massive collection of cars and stylized environments.

Our Expert Score

86/100

PAKO Highway is a high-octane masterpiece that strips the racing genre down to its most addictive elements: speed, near-misses, and a killer synthwave aesthetic. Unlike its predecessors which focused on top-down arena survival, Highway puts you behind the wheel in a third-person perspective, barreling down endless roads. The core mechanic revolves around 'near-miss' boosts—the closer you get to traffic without crashing, the faster you go and the more time you add to the clock.

The gameplay loop is incredibly tight. It nails that 'just one more run' feeling perfectly. As you earn credits, you unlock a garage full of cars that aren't just cosmetic; they feel distinct in their handling and speed profiles. The visual style is a vibrant, low-poly nod to 80s arcade racers, and the soundtrack is a perfect companion to the neon-drenched chaos. It’s a pure skill-based experience that rewards daring play and quick reflexes without the bloat of modern mobile simulators.

It’s awesome! There could just be some new and better things
Wed May 29 2024 It’s fake!!!!

This game is amazing! It’s for long car road trips, for school games, and even at home, you could play it everywhere and never gets boring! It’s available on mobile, laptop, and basically every device that has either App Store or google play store! Well, it doesn’t need those, just search up Tako Highway, and it’ll pop up! But for the best experience and newest version, use App Store or google play store! There just one thing that bothers me, it’s not ONLINE!!! If it was online, and we could race and drive around with friends, it would make this game PERFECT! Well, if we could have more colors, or even make it our own colors and custom paint all around the car, that would be so so cool! Also, if we could even make our own cars! Like look, let’s say you guys make a default car, and we could customize it by working for the fake money in the game, the gold! We could make our own cars and customize it and have fun with it, and also we could buy the cars you guys make for us! Having both, like making custom cars, and you’re cars, is amazing! All in all, this game is amazing, it could just have a bit of more new cars, settings, and abilities, it would make the game a 10/10! But for now, I love this game, and I really recommend it!

Great game but here’s some suggestions

I play this game a lot, especially because it’s one of the only mobile games I have that can be played offline, but it is a little glitchy and some of the maps are just impossible some times. Like you could be driving an encounter two trucks that are impossible to see before they render in. Also I love the music station idea but there isn’t a lot of songs so they always get repetitive. I think the game should also have a phonk station because it’s arguably the most popular song genre in the car community. Another idea is way more paint jobs, tires that you can get from chests and maybe add led lights, spoilers, and decals/patterns. It would really improve the game if you added just one of these features. Thanks for making an amazing game!

Fun, but a couple recommendations to improve the gameplay

Played for about a week now and here are the positives: the retro, Pako-themed graphics are fairly decent, upgrading cars and such isn’t too difficult, the actual gameplay is very thrilling, especially when the AI are driving like crazy maniacs and bumping each other around. Now, keeping this review short and sweet and summarizing what needs work, while the traffic AI is fun to watch, but there are many times when the vehicles will slam into each other and wind up blocking almost the whole highway if enough vehicles are involved, to the point of where there isn’t really a way to drive around the them; the traffic AI should at least be able to see each other to a certain degree, so the crashes aren’t as frequent. Another recommendation for improving this game would be if the cop cars actually chased other vehicles or even the player, just like in all the other Pako games. Aside from that, this game is brilliant and definitely a work in progress.

Been Playing For 2 years.

It’s an amazing time killer. I randomly pick this game up from time to time over these past 2 years. It helped me in my overseas travel to Poland. It helps me when I extremely bored at doctors visits etc. Devils Plains is the best map, it feels fair and there’s actual skill in getting the high score. I can’t say the rest of the maps are like that though (the ones with 4 lanes are super boring and luck based). The plains have some RNG ofc, but if you get a good run going keeping it alive is much much easier. That said I love this game so much I’ve gotten 14/15 achievements (only missing finishing the race). And I’m 4th in the world in Devils Plains. And that’s with just picking up the game once every November when it gets cold outside haha. Overall. I wish the development of this game was still existing. We haven’t seen an update in years. But to me this will be one of the GOATed iPhone games.

Wonderful game but one problem
Fri Oct 21 2022 tanks...r awsome

This game is great and a awesome time killer and if you love fast pace car dodging games this is it and I love the time mechanic but the major problem is the car AI is horrible you would be driving for a while and there would be a huge pile up of the cars and no time to react I would sometimes get cars driving the wrong way or 2 trucks driving side by side the game does have a problem solver for this by deleting the cars but it doesn’t go fast enough

Amazing

This is one of my favorite mobile games on my device. The graphics are spectacular and it’s just a great game overall. The only thing that needs to change is how realistic it is. When you hit a car in real life , it makes a dent. You don’t total your car and you don’t go flying 12 feet off the ground. I think that it would probably be more realistic if you had 3 chances until your cars engine flares and smoke comes out and you stop. I know that it is a video game but I think that it would be much better if it was a little more realistic.

Great but could use some work

This is a great, thrilling game and I love it a lot but sometimes the cats will Run into each other and block up the road and you don’t have enough reaction time to avoid it. And I would absolutely love it if you had like a free run mode where you aren’t burdened by a clock and if you crashed you could keep going because I die a lot, and I mean LOT so that would be cool. Also would be cool if the cops chased you somehow and you had to like boost away from them. Just some suggestions and feedback, this game is great

Frustrating Maps
Wed Oct 05 2022 Rikk1tikkitavi

Pretty fun, simple racing game. But some of the maps are not fun to play. The ones with intersections frequently have four cars crossing at the same time and there’s no way to dodge. You just have to play the map over and over again until you get good enough RNG where you’re not screwed by a bunch of cars blocking every lane when you don’t have boost. Needed a simple game to play during Zoom calls and while this game has potential, it’s too frustrating to constantly crash because there’s nothing you can do all the lanes are blocked.
