RISK 3.23 IS HERE
Pirate Map Pack 2
Translation fixes & more
RISK: Global Domination is a fantastic mobile adaptation of the classic board game that stays true to its strategic roots while adding modern flourishes. The cross-platform multiplayer is smooth, allowing you to challenge friends or strangers across the globe without much lag. It captures that perfect 'just one more turn' feeling as you plot your world conquest.
The variety of maps is what really keeps the game fresh. Moving beyond the classic world map into fantasy realms and historical scenarios adds layers of strategy I didn't know I needed. While the dice rolls can be frustratingly random at times (as is the nature of RISK), the tactical depth in troop placement and alliance-making makes every win feel earned.
Multiple game modes: Global Domination, Play Friends, and Single Player
Over 60 unique maps with varied terrain
Authentic rules with customizable house options
Cross-platform multiplayer support
Animated avatars and troop effects
Focus on capturing Australia or South America early in the game. These continents have fewer entry points, making them easier to defend while you accumulate the continent troop bonus each turn.
Join millions of players in global battles. The game supports seamless cross-platform play, so you can compete against users on mobile or PC in real-time ranked matches.
Yes, the game includes a 'Pass & Play' mode for local multiplayer on a single device.
Game is well designed and rating would be five stars except for one fatal flaw! In online, when a player quits and the computer takes over, the computer needs to be more logical and sophisticated. I was just playing an online match and it was between three players. A computer controlled, a human opponent and myself. The human opponent had at one point, four continents under full control, I had one (Australia) and the computer had its troops spread over Asia with out control of the full continent. The computer proceeded to consistently attack territories in Asia and corner me in Australia by stacking surrounding territories with high troop counts, while my human opponent was absolutely running away with the game! To make matters worse, the human opponent left some continents with little protection and the computer still didn’t attack one single territory to reduce the bonus troops for the human opponent. Needless to say I lost the match. My issue is I didn’t lose because the human player out strategized me, but rather because the computer player was in la la land with its head up its a-s. Please make the computer in online much more sophisticated so that the games remain competitive and fair when some one quits mid game.
he game is great, with interesting new game modes like Zombie Apocalypse or 5-Round-Rumble, and some nice additions like Fog of War, my personal favorite, and Blizzards. I also appreciate the minimum of 3 troops at the start of your turn, because it gives you at least a small chance of making a comeback when you have few territories left. As for the dice, I strongly recommend Balanced Blitz over True Random, which can be very frustrating. Don’t believe the hundreds of other reviews which claim that “Dice is completely rigged” or “the game automatically gives one player the advantage in his dice rolls”, because the Balanced Blitz mode is, as the name says, Balanced. However, the adds are very annoying: they can last almost a minute, and you can only skip them at the last second. Then it automatically sends you to a page on the App Store, and a banner even shows up in-game once you’ve clicked the “NO” button. I understand that since this game is free and most players don’t pay to win, they need advertisements to make money off the game, but I would still like the ads to be made less irritating, though. Even if that’s not possible, I won’t stop playing Risk because apart from that it is one of the most enjoyable games. Another problem, this one more important: when a computer takes over in the middle of a game, it makes the weirdest moves and seems to only attack one or two players. The AI really needs more sophisticated decision making. Thanks to SMG for making this game
Great game except they can’t get the cheating under control the people using multiple accounts to get unfair advantage is insane 9 out of 10 games you will get a cheating double account in your lobby and you will loose the match!! Fair warning don’t even bother with this trash !! Decided to download and see if these people have got this game together and it’s still junk !!! I’ve played 5 games since I downloaded it for the 2nd time and 4 games froze this is not my internet and not my device this is just another major problem they can’t seem to fix !!! Nothing like playing half way through a 2 hour game just to have it freeze up and send you to last place in rankings several times a day at least figure out how to let people keep their positions rather then automatically giving them last place because the game freezes just stupid !!! Lots of updates actually seems to be getting the cheating under control but now I kid you not every single game I play it crashes on me !! Sometimes you can get back in if your quick enough to reload your game but not always and when it happens several times a game we’ll let’s just say it’s difficult to even finish a game completely unless you get killed off early early on or happen to get that perfect game where you kill everyone else off in the first 10 moves so this time I give 2 stars .. PLEASE PLEASE FIX THE MOBILE VERSION CRASHES, fyi I already tried to reinstall and I cleaned out storage so I have plenty of space and nobody’s internet lags that bad not even MC Donald’s WiFi 🤭
I first downloaded this app back around 2015 or so, and it was exactly the game I was looking for. I enjoyed playing regularly enough, but when the first pack of new maps came out, it was game changing. I was especially fond of the USA and Europe maps. I had since downloaded several different series of maps, and purchased the game twice when my original Apple ID was lost. I was happy to do so for the quality of gameplay. Over the years I have gone for periods without playing, but I somehow always come back and keep going. I understand the need to keep cash rolling after all these years, but the game is started to turn into every other gems for items game. The purchasable emotes and figures are annoying having felt the purity of the game in its early days. I shouldn’t be surprised, and am always excited to see the new maps. I wish you’d go back to world maps and regional maps. I always enjoy real world scenarios more, personally. Also, with all the changes, I keep needing to login with my ID. It’s really annoying, and has created at least 4 different characters over the past few months, as well as making an entire map package I purchased no longer available. I didn’t mind rebuying the game when I lost my Apple ID, but I lost one of my favorite maps in one of the character changes.
Update: I’m not disconnected as much any more, but you’re losing a star from me. If I’m waiting for people to join a game, OBVIOUSLY I WANT TO PLAY. Why should I have to click ready within 10 seconds before the game starts if I’ve waited 2 minutes to play? Unless I’m staring blankly at my phone waiting to people to join, I can miss this 10 seconds and be excluded from the game. On the other hand, it’s just as annoying when I’m starting a game and other people didn’t click ready. Then I’m forced to play with a computer which is just as annoying! Please fix this. Been playing this game for about a month or so now. It’s addicting! However, I have some issues. I dislike that it randomly disconnects me from the game. That will count as a loss and go against my stats which seems to happen more often as I approach the highest rank. Maybe that’s a coincidence. Maybe it has something to do with the new update. Also, when others get disconnect or quit, the remaining players shouldn’t have to wait an entire 60seconds (or more depending on the game settings) for them to make their move. If they miss 3 turns they shouldn’t be allowed to return and let the computer take over. It took 20 minutes just to claim territories and start the game the other day because 2 people got disconnected or quit. If these issues can be fixed, you’d get a solid 5 rating from me. On a positive note, I still love playing this game. I’m glad my husband introduced me to it. Our 10 year old also plays with us. Hopefully the next update will address the issues at hand.
I’d rate it lower if possible, i played 6 straight games where i did not lose to poor strategy but because the dice roll odds are ridiculous. I lost a 17 more troops then they did when we both started with 30 and then the next turn I attack someone and lost all 13 troops on another territory when they were defending with 6. This has happened multiple times to players that pay for the risk premium account and only in critical points in the game. Every review I’ve seen just gets replied to with a “check out our dice odds” automated reply but it’s almost statistically impossible to lose 6 games in a row like that at critical points and never have one of them go my way. In addition to the dice odds, computer/AI needs to play like an actual person. There have been multiple times it just continues to attack me or attacks another person when it does not make sense. This has both helped and hurt me but it shouldn’t be a thing. I can leave a territory that’s giving me a continent bonus with only 1 troop in it and they will refuse to attack me and it’s gone both ways. Lastly, they do not actually evaluate reports. Several times players will either blatantly cheat or stall (refusing to attack the last remaining territory just to draw out a game). Even when reporting this they send back a reply saying they didn’t do it. I have no clue how you can look at someone not attacking the sole territory for multiple turns and not call it stalling. Horribly run game.
This game is fun, but small irritating things really hold it back. tl,dr: glitched dice, far-too-restricted communication, and network issues bring this otherwise 5 to a 2 1) Glitched dice rolls. You can literally lose 6-7 rolls in a row without winning one. This just isn’t realistic and seems to only happen when I host a game. I’m guessing this is a bug and not intentional 2) Almost zero ability to effectively coordinate with your Allies. Need to tell your teammate to attack your territory so you can unleash a massive force on an adjacent territory? Good luck. All you can do is use a few emojis and tell them whom you plan to attack and hope they’re smart enough to unlock your nearby army. You should be able to communicate basic things like “let’s attack red, then attack blue” or “I’ll attack red, you attack blue”, etc. the communication restrictions are WAY too tight - you should, at a minimum, be able to chat with your allies. 3) Weird connection issues resulting in dropped games or lagging out of games constantly and praying for a reconnect. Have tried on multiple devices with multiple networks and this intermittent problem persists. Wildly annoying. 4) There should be a straightforward purchase button for the full version of this game. It’s borderline unplayable with ads. No worries, but why do I have to buy a box of diamonds, or whatever the in-game currency is, to unlock the full version? Make this intuitive and straightforward: “Unlock the full version of this game for $11 by clicking this button.”
I remember playing the older available risk game, that had a dark and also more intense playing setting. This was another Hasbro game that was PVB(player vs bot) and you could also play with your friends. Improvements to the game were: the addition of PVP(player vs player) features, adding profiles, and the addition of many new maps that you can POTENTIALLY play. Ways that the game have let us down, is the need for Hasbro to make money off of its game. A clear thing that shows this is that you may only play a maximum amount of 3 times a day unless you pay money and upgrade to premium. Another way Hasbro has made it all about the money is teasing us with the introduction of new maps as a fun way to not get bored and have a variety of game modes to play, but they are totally inaccessible if you can’t pay what they are asking for. Although you can now have a variety of characters to chose from, and this is an interesting and cool feature of the new version, the graphics have surprisingly decreased. This version is now a lot more cartoony, not calling the old version gory, because it was a lot more realistic, interesting, and inserted you into the game. Overall I would say that this version is a very small step up to the last game and this has a LOT of room for improvement. In addition to this, I think that this game is loads of fun just because of the game itself. MY RATING ON THIS GAME IS ON A SCALE OF IMPROVEMENTS, AND IF IT WERE NOT A RATING BASED ON ANOTHER GAME IT WOULD AT THE VERY LEAST HAVE BEEN A 4!
