Bug fixes and performance improvements
This game is incredible, especially considering that it’s developed by a single person. Turn based combat has a lot of variety in terms of abilities and classes, which is amazing, and it’s definitely the highlight of the game. My first suggestion is to simplify the layout of buildings and increase the quantity of some production buildings. Carpentry and masonry as separate buildings makes a lot of sense, but I don’t see a reason to make every weapons building separate other than to reduce the number of weapons in the UI of any single building. I also want to be able to focus more Vikings on producing a few things at a time rather than only being able to deploy one Viking until I’ve unlocked a 2nd building later on. I often find myself needing a lot more work done in carpentry but unable to allocate enough Vikings to get it done quickly. To solve this, I’d suggest moving 2nd building unlocks to be earlier, so that players can more heavily focus on what they actively want. Another small thing I’d appreciate is longer queues. I find it annoying having to check my base every hour in order to add a few more of the same item in to each queue, or lose out on Viking work time. Queues on crops and windmills would also be cool.
I downloaded this game because the visuals reminded me of forager and it was free. I had no idea that I just stumbled across the best free mobile city builder/rpg/fishing simulator. First of all, there are ZERO pop up ads. The only time you need to watch an add to get a small about of material or micro currency. There is a subscription model that speeds up progress, however it feels achievable to earn the membership by watching ads. The rpg element is surprisingly in depth with so much customization for each villager. It allows you to form an actual connection with each villager and create the story of your own little town. There are even distinct roles in battle with dps, tank, healer, support options for each class. The fishing system at first might seem like a fun little mini-game, but the way that it connects with the rest of the game makes it a integral part of the gameplay experience. The fishing mechanic does not only provide a food source to heal the villagers after battle but it is also a surprisingly fun mechanic to engage with while all your timers are going. In summary, this is definitely my favorite mobile game to date!
I really enjoyed this game and it’s setting, as well as the lack of ads makes it nice, the fishing is a fun little thing to pass the time, and the building can be fun, the only thing I feel is slow is after you progress far enough you can’t expand as fast as you want because of the lack of workers, I understand the amount of workers = the amount of your army so more than 4 doesn’t make sense, but it does take away from the expansion and tribe building aspect, I just wanted more Vikings or hired workers or something because I’m unlocking 100 different buildings and can only use four, and in a town building game it doesn’t work the same as in something like clash of clans, it’s totally different, I just want more town expansion and different ways of fighting pve, sometimes I just have to wait it out and can’t do anything, or take days to upgrade my boat so I can keep playing the fighting aspect of the game, it’s fine and it all works but it could be more cohesive from my point of view, I end up playing other games that are just more engaging and I have so many things to do that I’m being pulled in different directions, it makes it fun, and that’s all this is missing, but I’ll just have to wait.
I’ve been checking out a lot of games lately & approached this one with the usual suspicion. The graphics are cute but I wasn’t sure there was enough substance/strategy for my current mood. After an hour or so of not paying attention, I discovered how the vikings’ skill points/ability system works. Example: if you put 5 points into “Fighter”, it immediately unlocks the Fighter 5 skills. Same for “Mage” & so on. Also, you can replay old raids to gain XP & “War Fragments” (costs a little in-game gold) so you can try out different abilities without remorse. I’ve been playing a couple of days now & haven’t encountered any glitches. It’s a lot of fun with no pay walls so far. Probably the most generous devs I’ve seen in a long time. You get premier currency occasionally from productions, quests, etc. I gained enough from 10ish hours of play to buy the VIP membership for a week = +XP, +worker speed, & passive health regen. (There seems to be only 1 level of membership.) Yeah… good game - well done - kudos to the devs - recommended.
I’ve played many mobile base/army building games like this, but this one just did it best. I have adhd so i bounce between games fairly quick filling a new roster every month or 2 but this one has stuck. The COMBAT is an rpg turn based style thats done in a simple yet fun and requires a lot of strategy or a lot of grind. The BUILDING aspect keeps me hooked because theres a lot of content and they balance what you can craft, how fast you get loot, and what levels you unlock new features so well. You dont need to spend any money to have a fun gaming experience and there are NO ADS. Whoever the DEVS are i love you and your game. Its hard to find good games that aren’t just a money grab or fizzle out after the first couple minutes/hours of playing. You made a quality game. I considered buying gems just to support you but I don’t want to speed up my experience. I suggest adding a donation button because even tho I’m broke id throw a couple of dollars and i feel others would to.
This game reminds me so much of what made early iOS games good. It’s simple, not overly time consuming and has satisfying progress. Ive deleted nearly every game if downloaded in the first hour of playing this last couple years. I can tell this game I will be playing for awhile. I haven’t made it too far yet but there are a few tweaks I would like. I wish I could rename my dudes. I also would like some female representation. I also would like if I could zoom further out than it is currently available. I also kinda have a bit of a bigger ask: It would be cool if chests had some degree of a gotcha game, such as some uniquely special weapons/armor (non craft able) that are not entirely broken but look good, things I can collect with levels of rarity. I enjoy building my warriors appearances, and identity. Maybe pets are in the chest too, Something to run around my village to make it feel more lively. Thank you developers for filling a long empty hole. :)
This is an amazing game, like another review said, it was oddly nostalgic, simple rpg and semi-automatic gameplay (probably wrong term) is wonderful, along with the strategic fighting and need to keep food producing if you fight in dungeons or the "campaign", I guess, a lot. Normally I get bored of some games that are slow in progress but stay tied to them because well I already made progress and just can't put that effort to waste, but this one is enjoyable and makes me addicted in a way I'm okay with, I hope this keeps getting more recognition and grows plenty further, just don't overwork yourself, if people want to complain that one man can't do this or that quickly, screw them, they can't understand how hard it is to fix bugs and glitches by yourself. My review was a mess but I felt happy with it so I just didn't bother to be formal... I mean to be fair who wants to?
This game is honestly phenomenal, the base building is simple but fun same with the raid mechanics. The only thing I’d like to see changed is some of the crafting times for items. For instance, if you want to make 1 stick it takes 30 minutes and making a whole plank takes 20 which seems somewhat backwards. And the empty rune-stone which in my mind is essentially just a rock takes 20 minutes. I feel a lot of the times could be decreased or just adjusted slightly nothing too drastic as the progression still feels good if just like to be able to sit there and grind for a little bit but the food timers makes me take at least a 20 minute break from the game because all my Vikings are dead. Edit: BOWLS. You should get a bowl back when you consume a food that is in a bowl. Edit2: new textures for increased levels of houses and crafting stations would be a great addition
