Updated for iOS 14 and fixed an issue where Cultural Insights were unable to load or play correctly.
The game's graphics and details are absolutely stunning. The little details make the game so much more realistic. However, even if the game was so addicting and beautiful it was so short by the time it ended it left me wanting more. I wanted to know about about what happened at the ending. This game deserves a five star rating for its story line alone. There were a few glitches like with controlling the fox near the middle/end, but it's still pretty ok to control. I recommend this game to people who pay attention to graphics and storyline a lot. It's also like limbo in some ways the controls except much more beautiful and in depth with its story. Please play this game! 👍🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The game has great graphics, storyline, and characters but theres so many things wrong with it. The first problem is it's really confusing on how to play. Every chapter there's a new things to learn about the controls. The controls are also really wonky. The second thing is that it's kind of expensive for what it's actually worth. The game is kind of like a demo it's not complete. The third and final thing I will be stating is it's a short almost demo type game. After you finish the chapters it takes you back to the start and you just replay the game there's not another level there's not another story it's just the same story over and over. This really frustrates me because I thought it's going to be a really fun game to have multiple different stories. Since I bought the game I hope they make updates and bring new stories into the game because that would be a waste of money if it's just one gameplay. There's a bunch of other games you could've bought with the money that you paid for this game so it really makes me mad. I finished the game today and I was expecting it to bring me to another story or another section or chapter but I just brought me back to the start screen and once I press play it restarts the whole story>:( sorry this was a long review but just wanted to inform people who wanted to buy it:)
I was a little weary when I read some a review saying the controls were a bit wonky as from watching gameplay, I knew you had to switch between characters and certain controls that give each character their own abilities. Still, I couldn’t pass on this beautiful story and upon downloading it I found that the controls were easy to navigate and I had absolutely no issues. I just finished the game, and it was just as good, if not better than expected. Also, the cultural insights into the Inupiat people is such an interesting and beautiful feature. Download it!
This game is incredible. You play as an Iñupiat girl and her Arctic Fox companion as they journey to find the source of a blizzard that has precluded her village from hunting caribou, which they need to survive. Throughout, you score “cultural insights,” 1-2-minute pieces of documentary footage that deepen your cultural understanding of the Iñupiat, their traditions and stories, and their relationship with their environment. You have to find the hidden owls to gain them, so you end up working hard to learn about them. I missed three of them by the time I was done, and I went back and replayed the levels to find them all. It’s gorgeously done, front to back; it’s challenging; it’s so smart. And I CRIED AT ONE POINT BECAUSE I WAS SO MOVED My only criticism is that sometimes the controls don’t work as expected, even when I changed the level of joystick sensitivity, so there were moments of frustration when I had to replay some scenes several times because I couldn’t get the fox to clamber up a wall properly.
A lot of games I'd describe as 'magical' are lighthearted and safe. This platformer reminds me of a mix of Limbo (can be sad and dark with constant deaths, and the gameplay), with Out of this World (realistic physics and movement) and also Ghost Trick a little. The characters are gorgeous. The controls are great but there's only so much you can do with a touch Dpad. I am almost finished but I get so frustrated playing platform games on a touchscreen. I would love to play on a controller. The cultural fact additions are great and I love the narrators voice in native tongue. The snow animation is beautiful. Thanks for putting on sale
I just read a review that said it is confusing to play... It literally tells you in big white font what is going on while you play the game. So disregard the idiot review. The game is TRULY incredible. It’s absolutely captivating from the second your eyes lay on the beautiful graphics. I adore that it is a strong, young heroine that ties in not only a beautiful, true storyline but basically tiny snippets of documentaries. You have the option to watch or not watch. It’s a game you look forward to coming home and relaxing with. Beautiful!! Bravo developers!
This is a gorgeous game. It’s obvious the developers put a lot of love and energy into this game. I loved the inclusion of the spirits as a key element of the game. However, as others have said, the controls are super finicky right when you need them to be reliable. When I try to do a wall jump to escape a polar bear, I really need the jump button to work properly every single time. Unfortunately, my frustration over the controls was such that I had to quit playing and won’t get to experience the end of the story for myself. At least there are plenty of walkthrough videos out there.
This was, and HAS to be, the BEST game ever created!! I really hope there's another part to it! This game had everything in it! Challenges! Emotions! Puzzles! You name it! Defiantly emotions, I about cried when I saw Fox die, I was so relieved to see he was okay! The only small thing that bugs me, which isn't so bad, more or less funny, but- when you switch to Fox, the spirit, K would sometimes be.. really stupid. She'd run to the edge- and jump off when ever a flew out to get a spiritual bubble. Other thank that- the games' great! I'm so glad I caught it before it went back to its original price, though, either way. I still would have bought it. The cover looks great, the graphics, controls, everything! And just being able to switch between the two was so creative! I don't think any game can beat this in my top 3. Because this is #1!!
