Myths of Moonrise successfully blends the high-stakes strategy of base-building with the tactical satisfaction of Match-3 combat, all wrapped in a dark, atmospheric supernatural world. In an era of generic fantasy games, the gothic aesthetic here—featuring Vampires, Werewolves, and Wizards—feels refreshingly mature. The narrative setup, revolving around a 'fallen continent' and a massive invasion of 'The Fallen,' provides a solid emotional hook for the constant rebuilding of your home.
What sets this title apart is the synergy between the Match-3 puzzles and the hero collection. Your chosen units aren't just icons; their elemental affinities and special abilities are crucial for surviving the wave-based combat. The strategic layer outside of combat—managing resources and expanding your territory—is deep enough to keep long-term players engaged. It’s a game of patience and clever team composition that rewards players for thinking three moves ahead both on the puzzle board and the world map.
Atmospheric supernatural setting
Tactical Match-3 combat system
Expansive base-building and territory reclamation
Deep hero collection and upgrade mechanics
Always match tiles that correspond to your hero's element to charge their special abilities faster. Use a balanced team of different factions to ensure you can exploit enemy elemental weaknesses.
Players engage in turn-based Match-3 battles where tile matches translate into attacks. Winning battles earns resources used to upgrade your city and level up your supernatural army.
You can recruit and lead heroes from the Vampire, Werewolf, and Wizard factions.
It’s actually not a bad game. Yes of course it has its paid to win advantages but as long as you shield, you don’t have to worry about losing any of your power. It’s actually a game I’ve been playing for over a year and I actually kind of like it I’ve made some good friends. One of the best games in the App Store that I’ve actually considered playing for longer and even spent money on. You don’t have to spend money as long as you get yourself a good server and if you good friends, it can actually be fun to play. Of course, if you get attacked by other players, who actually spend money on the game, you will lose everything butmost of all you should be fine
I’ve been playing for a couple of months now, and I have to say this is the best game I’ve played that encourages spending money. Odd way to put it, but yeah. There is never a shortage of things to do, super impressive. And the more you play the more there is to keep you occupied. I don’t feel like I’m losing out if I don’t spend real money, impressive in a game like this, and the endless options for packs and such to buy mean if I do want to money I can get something I really want. The graphics and theming are on point. The alliance seems like a cool feature, but mine is dead, lol. I took over leadership, but it’s not easy to recruit active members. Even with a dead alliance, I am seriously enjoying the game. I just can’t believe the amount of content and events! I’m used to mobile games backing you into a pay to play corner. This game instead inspires you to want to pay for things just by being genuinely fun. It does take time to learn all the things you can do, but that is part of the fun to me!
I love this game. It took me awhile to open it up and there was a learning curve. There’s so much to do. And they are quite generous with their rewards for completing tasks. The downside is you can’t use some of them until your manor has reached a certain level or something else reaches a certain level. I would advise building yourself up first before joining an alliance. You want to make sure they are in your time zone. Some things are scheduled by the alliance leader. The characters come with some great back stories. They just finished their 1 year anniversary. That was awesome. It’s my most favorite game.
This game favors people who spend a lot of money. If you don’t buy everything, you will not keep up. I love so many of the people I met from around the world, but keeping up with upgrades if you do not attack smaller/newer members of the game, it is not possible. Attacking smaller players, taking the resources they saved for upgrades, it pushes them to quit the game, then the server has fewer active people playing. Maybe that is the whole point, I don’t know… If you do not join a NAP alliance, you will be attacked relentlessly for resources, and you are attacked even more if you fight back and attack a person in a NAP alliance. I joined a NAP alliance and spent money on this game, but I did not buy everything Myth’s of Moonrise had to offer, so I fell behind. It’s not worth the stress and drama from the big spenders, or their alliances. Just don’t play the game.
It is really a very fun game, especially with some recent activities, such as the Valentine's Day event in February and the new real-time gameplay (I forgot what it's called) that was recently released, which make people want to invest a lot of time in the game uncontrollably. The combination of Match-3 and SLG gameplay is a great combination for anyone who wants to try more innovative gameplay. I hope the developers can continue to release more content that we want. If so, I think I can keep playing forever!
The game is very simplistic. Operations same as others. You will need a team. Learn how to use ruins, crystals, & something else. Beginning you grow fast after 10 you’ll slow down. Build then do all research at that level. That way you’ll keep a stronger home. Bubble or burn, especially if not in top 5- 15 depending on king. Relax it’s a game not your life.
I’ve been playing this game for quite a few months now almost a year. The only drawback is the bullies on this game. Just because they spend more money than me doesn’t mean they can bully me and talk crap to me. Other than that, I tend to have a lot of fun with my guild mates and with my hunting parties. Thankfully, migration is just around the corner, so I will be able to move to another server along with a large group of my alliance mates hopefully things will be better there.
First off, bait and switch ads. Automatically minus one star. Secondly, online only, data sponge game. Automatically minus one star. Going to give this a try and update later if it gets better, but already a few red flags. Images on the App Store page barely reflect gameplay. I don’t like app pages that are not clear about what I am getting into. I’m kind of surprised it has so many 5 star reviews given it did not seem that good to me at all.
