Manuganu is a masterclass in how to execute a 3.5D side-scrolling runner with precision. Unlike many endless runners that feel like they're playing themselves, Manuganu requires genuine intent. The dual-action control scheme—allowing you to halt Manuganu in his tracks to dodge swinging boulders or time a jump—adds a layer of platforming depth that is rarely seen in the genre.
The environments are lush and vibrant, moving from sun-drenched tribal lands to icy caverns with seamless transitions. Each level feels like a mini-adventure rather than a repetitive track. The 'Halt' mechanic is the standout feature here; it turns what could have been a simple reflex test into a rhythmic puzzle. Whether you're dodging giant hammers or timing a leap over a bed of spikes, the game feels fair but demanding. It’s a polished, tactile experience that sits comfortably alongside the Rayman Jungle Run series in terms of quality.
Unique Halt/Stop mechanic
Stunning 3D environments
Alternative paths in levels
Original tribal soundtrack
The blue button on the left is your 'Halt' action. Use it when you see swinging obstacles. Don't rush; many levels require you to wait for a specific pattern before sprinting forward to grab all the blue medallions.
Manuganu can perform wall jumps and rope slides. Timing your jumps at the very edge of platforms will give you a slight speed boost, which is essential for hitting the 'Time' goal on harder levels.
Levels are unlocked by reaching the finish line, but you earn stars by collecting blue medallions and hitting time targets.
Unique game with a cute graphics! Hope to have more levels!
I managed to only play about 4 minutes before the character fell through the floor and the game got stuck.
I've played through the first 20 levels and so far this game gets so many things right that I had to stop to write this review. Kudos! As a platformer and not a random endless runner, the hand crafted levels with clear end-goals are welcome indeed. Level design so far seems spot on with each one introducing you to new skills as they get progressively more challenging. Coins are placed in all the right spots to give the player the opportunity to make a risk/reward decision. Character flow through the levels feels smooth and players have multiple path options through some levels. The graphics are beautiful and the textures are clean. Special attention has been given to lighting and fog. Overall it makes for a fun and appealing visual style. Creaking ropes, critter sound effects, and the music seem a natural fit and add to the ambience. Thanks for an entertaining evening!
This game is unique in its own way. It's very basic but at the same time fun! The graphics help make the game look cool too! For a 1$ this game is worth it. Definitely add more levels in the future though!!
Add more levels, more difficulty, and customizable controls. Very smooth gameplay. Sexy graphics. Kinda easy.
I absolutely love this game and look forward to the second one to come out!!
Well worth the money! Super fun and will keep you occupied for a few hours! Update with more levels soon, PLEASE!!!
Great graphics, controls & sounds. What more can you ask for. Add more levels please.

The iOS market seems to be overflowing with cute little platforming games that are all basically the same game with different designs.
