Fixed game resolution for new iPhones and iPads
Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project is a fantastic blast from the past that translates surprisingly well to mobile. Unlike the first-person shooters the series is known for, this is a side-scrolling '2.5D' action platformer that captures the high-octane energy and crude humor of the Duke. The controls are tight, which is essential for a game that requires precise jumping and constant shooting. The levels are surprisingly large and offer plenty of verticality, encouraging you to explore every corner for secrets and captured babes to rescue.
Visually, the game looks great with its updated textures while maintaining that early 2000s aesthetic. The Manhattan setting provides a gritty, neon-lit backdrop that fits the tone perfectly. What really sells the experience is the voice acting; hearing Jon St. John’s iconic one-liners while blowing up mutant pigs never gets old. It’s a challenging game that doesn't hold your hand, requiring legitimate strategy to manage your ammo and health. For fans of classic arcade action, this is a must-play port that respects its source material.

Don't waste your powerful G.L.O.P.P. Ray on basic enemies. Stick to the pistol for single mutants and save the heavy ordnance for the robotic bosses at the end of each zone.
Progression is often tied to finding colored keycards. If you're stuck, look for vent shafts or destructible walls that lead to hidden security rooms.
No, Manhattan Project is a side-scrolling action platformer, though it features plenty of shooting.
It is a great game I was actually wrong about it. However... the sound was working for two seconds until I put ear buds in, then it just become silent, I tried other games, the sound works on the others. So I realized that it was just the game, so i guess I’m just going through it without any sound, unless the next time I go on, how knows 🕶
Loved this game on PC. I figured it would be great to pick up and play on the go in bits at a time. The touch controls are quite hard to use with precision. Platform jumping and jump kicks are hard to pull off on the phone. I think when the app was first developed, iPhones had more empty space on the tops and bottoms of the screen, but now they fill the screen edge to edge. This gives you very little room to both hold the phone and touch your thumb to the buttons at the edge. The game is also missing the Look and Zoom feature of the original, making platforming even more challenging. The option to purchase items appears to be broken, but good riddance- that was a pathetic cash grab. The pros? It’s Duke Nukem after all.
Episode three part three
How disappointing! I spent several hours progressing through the game only to have a crash upon opening. This is happened twice already and I have lost hours of time. I’m not going to try again because you never know when it’s going to crash again. There seems to be no way to recover this.
Awesome game. Best mobile game i have ever played. Its a classic side scroller with all the fun of duke nukem classics
The last of the solid Duke Nukem games with a throwback to the first two Duke releases.
Every time I load the game I get to the screen to select easy normal or hard as soon as I click on one it glitches out to my home screen very disappointed
This game brought back a lot of great memories. But unfortunately it crashes every time I launched a saved game. Wish I never bought it! For the record, I’m using an iPhone XS on iOS 12.2.
