Metal Slug 4 is an action-packed shooting game released by SNK in 2002. As the fourth entry in the legendary run-and-gun series, it features new characters Trevor and Nadia alongside veterans Marco and Fio. Battle against the mysterious Amadeus Syndicate across high-intensity levels filled with enemies, vehicles, and spectacular bosses. This ACA NEOGEO edition brings the original arcade experience to mobile with global leaderboards, customizable controls, and the series' iconic hand-drawn pixel art and animation.

Metal Slug 4 is often overlooked in the series, but playing it again via the ACA NEOGEO port reveals it to be a rock-solid 'run-and-gun' experience. While it reuses many assets from previous games, it introduces the 'Metallish System,' a scoring mechanic that rewards you for rapid destruction, adding a nice layer of depth for high-score chasers. The newcomers Trevor and Nadia fit right into the chaotic world of the Peregrine Falcon Squad.

The action is as relentless and beautiful as ever, with the series' signature hand-drawn pixel art still looking incredible decades later. The 'Metal Slug' tanks are still a joy to pilot, and the boss designs are as screen-filling and imaginative as you'd expect. The ACA port's quick-save feature is a godsend here, as the difficulty is notoriously 'quarter-munching' high. It's a pure distillation of arcade action that feels great in short bursts on mobile.

You can’t use Bluetooth or at least I don’t know how to activate it in the setting or something yet the controls are good anyways so it doesn’t really matter. Just wish controller was available.

This one controls far better than 3. Still not the best, but much better! Please release metal slug 6!!! That one is my favorite!!

I can now play the Metal Slug 4 in 1 pack (1,2,3,X) in a generic mfi controller via bluetooth. There’s a small icon on the right lower corner.

To get the controller to work its the icon on the bottom right, to insert coin/credit is LB, to press start is RB
