Each puzzle is solvable in 2 words!
Use hints if you're stuck!
Letter Box Word Boxed Game is a minimalist's dream. It takes the familiar concept of 'find the word' and constraints it to a square box format that feels more like a mechanical puzzle than a standard word search. You have to connect letters on the sides of the box to create words, but the catch is that you can't use the same side twice in a row.
This single constraint completely changes how you view a word list. It’s much more challenging than it looks. The interface is snappy and the dictionary is quite comprehensive, though it can be a bit strict with specialized terms. It’s a great way to expand your vocabulary and improve your lateral thinking under pressure.

Try to finish words with letters like 'S', 'D', or 'Y' that are positioned on a different side than the root of the word. This makes it easier to bridge to your next word.
The last letter of your previous word must be the first letter of your next word. Plan your endings carefully so you don't trap yourself with a difficult starting letter.
Most puzzles are designed to be solved in 2 to 5 words, depending on the difficulty.
This app is a perfect addition to anyone’s word puzzle collection. I alternate between this and a quordle app. My only possible request would be for the app to saw “awesome” or “genius” if you get a word that clears most of the letters or something like that that indicates a level of proficiency. It is hard to gauge performance since the boxes don’t have a difficulty rating or anything like that so a small little encouragement based on performance would be nice. That is honestly and completely my only possible suggestion!
After playing NYtimes Letterboxed for a bit, I wanted to try practicing and getting better at solving with less required words. Discovering this app, I came in with the expectation of a similar experience but with infinite games. Maybe I’m a stickler, but this was not the same experience. The UI and how the game played out, I had no complaints, but the one key issue was the inability to solve the majority of the randomly generated puzzles in 2 words, which disincentivized why I came in the first place. For those in a similar predicament, I do not recommend the game in its current state as you’ll be scratching your head for a couple of minutes only to check a website to see that it wasn’t possible in the first place. For those who just want to simply play the game and could care less about this caveat, this game will suffice those needs, and I do recommend. If this game was not consistent with NYtimes, it would be a little disappointing, but nothing too game breaking.
I really like word puzzle games, and this one is no exception. I like the challenge of trying bigger more complex words. Only have 2 suggestions: 1. THE ANSWERS! What the heck is the answer!? I can only get it to 3 words. 2. Give some sort of point system, just to give some small reward. I like to see how many puzzles I do and have some small sense of achievement.
I loved the NYT version, but found it frustrating so I wanted to find an app I could play an unlimited amount of times for the practice. This one is perfect and I love how relaxing yet challenging it is. The only recommendation I have, is I just wish there was a way to see the solution to each puzzle. Each puzzle is supposed to be solvable in 2 words, so when if I finish a level in more than two words, I would like to see the solution… I just want the satisfaction of at least knowing what I got wrong/missed!
I don’t recommend this game for those with a decent vocabulary who are accustomed to similar games found elsewhere. Many very common words I entered are not found as legitimate words, yet the words suggested as a two-word solution are often words that are so uncommon that even the brightest won’t recognize them. In addition, it’s not rewarding to start out with a prompt telling the player to solve the puzzle in six words and even if you solve it using three or four words, it takes you to a page saying you could have solved it using two words. That’s just idiotic. The developer took a good, fun game and changed it just enough to ruin the experience.
This is such a pleasant word game. It allows you to use what you know. It is challenging without being stressful, because you can keep trying different solutions. If you want to increase the challenge you can add your own goals, like using fewer words, or not repeating any letter more than once.
Really enjoying this game until I got a puzzle with a random “/“ instead of a letter. It doesn’t seem to accept this character in any of my guesses, I can’t find an explanation/solution anywhere online, and there is no way to request help or additional info through the app or the developer’s website. Leaving this review in the hopes that someone might be able to help me! Game has been great otherwise.
I was looking for a similar game to the NYT letterbox and this one didn’t disappoint. In fact, it’s even more challenging than the NYT version. This one really makes you have to try hard to get the words in the right amount of tries. Good job developer.
