Connections Game is an absolute triumph of minimalist puzzle design. It takes the viral word-grouping format and expands it into a comprehensive mobile experience that is both intellectually demanding and immensely satisfying. As an expert in word puzzles, I was impressed by the 'layers' of logic; the game often presents red herrings that seem like a perfect fit for one category but actually belong to another. This forces you to analyze all 16 words as a whole before committing to a single group.
The daily refreshed puzzles keep the experience fresh, and the ability to review past solutions provides a great way to learn more complex associations. The UI is clean and fast, with zero unnecessary friction. It’s the kind of game that sparks immediate conversation and high-score sharing. If you enjoy testing the boundaries of your vocabulary and lateral thinking, this is currently the best word-game on the App Store.

Before you tap your first four words, look for words that could fit in two different categories. If you see 'Orange' and 'Apple,' they could be fruits or colors. Look for the other 14 words to see which category is 'stronger.' If there's only one other fruit but three other colors, 'Orange' likely belongs with the colors.
The groups are color-coded by difficulty: Yellow is the most straightforward, followed by Green, Blue, and finally Purple (which often involves wordplay or complex puns). Try to solve the Yellow and Green groups first to narrow down the possibilities for the more abstract Purple group.
There is one main daily puzzle, but the Pro version unlocks a vast archive of thousands of previous levels.
I love this game because it makes my brain work and how come right after the first level there’s an ad at least make the ads after the 13th level PLEASE
It’s OK. The biggest challenge I have with the game is that it doesn’t have an “end” function. If you get stuck and can’t finish a line, there’s no way to quit the game and start over. You have to close then re-open the app. Other games give you a certain number of tries and when you lose, you can see the context of the lines you missed. In this game you’ll never learn the correct answer for the lines you missed. There’s plenty of similar apps that have these two missing functions so there’s no good reason why they’re absent here.
When you get 3 sets of 4, the last guess is automatic. If there were 2 extra words in there it would be more of a challenge.
I was looking for something , I could do with my grandchildren. I was hoping it would encourage them to use their mind, but it’s a little harder than they can do it’s sometimes a little hard for me to do. ( But the challenge is nice )Let me know if there’s something out there that elementary school can do.
This app is really good for working your brain but I wish there was a “hint” option. It would help tremendously with how difficult the levels are!
If I'm totally stumped, I'm happy to throw in the towel, take a loss, and move onto another game. There's no way to do that. So I tend to back out of the game and not come back for weeks. Wish you would do it like the NYT version with four or so chances to get it right - or lose. That's a better game.
There is no way to move on until you have arrived at the correct groups. There needs to be a way to quit a game or get a hint on what to do next. There are thousands of possible combinations. I forgot the math for that calculation. 16 things taken 4 at a time…….divided by 16-1 or something like that
Game is amazing, fun, and challenging, but that ads come after every single level. Some level are like 30 seconds and boom another ad. No option to pay to remove ads. Games have just become ad farms.
