Puzzle lovers dream
Thu Mar 12 2020 ChelbiMustangI love this app because it’s the best way to enjoy puzzles without the mess and expense of tangible ones. Plus, there are never missing pieces! For only a few dollars you get 30 or more puzzles. You can’t do that with “real” puzzles! If you love jigsaw puzzles, this app is for you! I like the fact I can pause the game when I’m not actively working on a puzzle so I can see how much actual time it took to complete. I challenge myself to improve my time because it’s a way to exercise the brain. I have not had the same negative experience as some of the reviews I’ve seen posted over the recent hours/days. Mine doesn’t crash or have too many ads. Someone gave the game 1 star because it’s “not really free” but the APP is free. It’s clearly stated in the App Store, when you read the fine print, that there are “in app purchases” therefore it’s not advertised as “always” free. There is a free daily puzzle. I often start several daily puzzles and leave them to finish later. So I have 2 or 3 in my “in progress” bucket all the time. If you only want truly free puzzles take advantage of the daily ones. Otherwise buy puzzle packs on sale. There are puzzle packs for $0.99, $1.99 and $2.99 that are good ones. Each puzzle pack has around 30 or so which can be done over and over with various levels of difficulty to challenge you. There are ways to enjoy the app without spending more than $3. Get creative. I’ve used several other puzzle apps and I like this one the best.
Today’s Seder puzzle

I was moved and full of gratitude for the puzzle of the day today depicting the Seder celebration that was to become Jesus last supper. I was raised Episcopalian and my husband was raised Methodist and I grew up believing that the last supper was just the last supper. When my parents moved to a small town called Hamilton Montana, they joined a church there called St. Paul’s Episcopal church and had a wonderful pastor there. Whenever I was home visiting, I would attend St. Paul’s and loved it. One year I was there around Easter and my mom stayed home with my two small children so that I could attend St. Paul’s annual Seder supper. Their priest believed everyone should understand that the last supper was in fact Christ and his disciples celebrating the Seder supper and later was referred to as the last supper so many of us non Jewish worshippers had no idea that the Seder was the reason for that supper that night. Our priest walked us through the whole meal explaining everything about the beautiful steps and stages to everything that was done on Seder and it was Incredible! Thank you so much for having the courage and respect to share that this day/ week is about more than Easter baskets and bunnies and for paying such high respect to the the beauty of the Jewish culture and tradition You have my gratitude and lifelong support.
Good app except for brief appearance of obstructive popup banner.
Tue Oct 31 2023 narrator56*** I am editing this review to add at least that the irritation I describe below was of relative low duration as it has disappeared as mysteriously as it appeared. So all is well at least for a while. *** I like this app mostly. I usually do several puzzles a day to help keep my brain active, and there is enough variety that I can do just the types of puzzles I prefer: buildings and street or landscapes, for example rather than the still life or colored beads, or whatever. I paid for the premium version to get rid of ads and it comes with a bonus giving you the ability to make your own puzzles out of pictures on your device. Now they still want me to look at ads because that helps them pay the bills, but normally they ask me if I want to look at ads over the next 31 days to gain bonus coins to “buy” more puzzles, and that is fine. But their newest thing is a banner that pops up at the top encouraging me to do more puzzles (15 a day - really?) I have to touch the screen to get rid of it before it lets me do what I was trying to do, and it reappears every time I do something else. It is irritating and perhaps a sign that the premium version will mean nothing soon. Now I won’t get rid of the app over this irritant because I have so many puzzles lined up still to do that were mostly free, but if this banner is trying to get me to do more puzzles, this isn’t the best way to do it.
Boring!
Sun Jul 19 2020 Tom472I never write reviews, but have become increasing frustrated with the changes to this app. With each update more and more features which made this a very fun app have been removed. Getting to be a very boring, ho hum app! This had been my most favorite game app that is available! I even paid the extra not to have the ads that interrupt my playing. I have completed over 1000 puzzles. I still like the variety of puzzles and the free one each day, which I play for that day and leave until the next free one. It used to be that if you collected enough coins you could use them to get new puzzle pack, but they have eliminated that feature for the most part. Now you must pay cash for almost all addition puzzle. Occasionally there are puzzles that you can us the coins to get, but they are mostly very unappealing puzzles that no one would buy with money. They have also lowered the number of coins for completed puzzles and no longer tell you how many you can earn for the different number of puzzle pieces you chose, so much of the challenge has been removed and not as much fun to play. The number of objectives not longer very challenging. Not sure why anyone would watch any ads to get coins as the coins are useless! So disappointing to see how this app has been changed from it’s original, and not for the better!
Improvement
Sun Dec 29 2019 IluvshopsI want to update my earlier review because there have been some significant changes (some good/some bad). Most importantly praise is warranted because the puzzle hardly ever crashes anymore -- thank you! Some things I'm not so happy about are the following: (1) Trays are useless and take up valuable board space; (2) there are 2 puzzle packs that I do not want (taking up valuable data space) that have been placed in my puzzles. I cannot delete them. I will never use them and I would like to remove them. Please tell me how. (3) I want to do puzzles at my pace when I have the time. I don't want the annoying messages that tell me how many puzzles I have completed or that I need to complete more, etc. Just please allow me to utilize the game the way I want to. Maybe this is as a result of the upgrade to get rid of ads, not sure. Had I known I would be assaulted with all these messages after every puzzle completion, I would never have upgraded. The game should have a feature to turn off all annoying messages. Thank you for listening! love this puzzle app when it works. The problem is that it constantly crashes and freezes, and sometimes the screen just goes black (but ad at bottom still plays lol). I have to close the app and wait a bit then try reopening so it will reload (hopefully). Why can't these bugs be fixed? I'm not the only one complaining about them. I can't delete and reinstall because I will loose all purchased puzzle packs!
Jigsaw Puzzles
Mon Dec 04 2017 SlightlysorryI'll add my thoughts....I love jigsaw puzzles. The only problem in our house is that the hubby doesn't like to see the card table sitting out. This game takes care of that. I have had a great time getting into the swing of things....getting faster now though. Since I just upgraded I play the sound of waves and it is very relaxing. I love flowers and the color green so I make sure to have those puzzles to work on. I give this app an A plus. One more thing....I really enjoy using my own photos in a puzzle. I recently asked about sizing photos while using my own photos. My question was answered promptly and I really appreciate that. I really really love this app. So relaxing! Update: 11/17. I really appreciate this app going back to letting the player decide when to add the rest of the pieces after placing the edge pieces in the puzzle. I didn't appreciate it when one of the updates automatically added them after completing the edge pieces. Over all, I have spent many many hours of fun and relaxation with this app. By far the best of several I have tried. I have purchased a lot of puzzles but have had special enjoyment completing puzzles from my own pictures. I give this app A+. Update: December 4, 2017. I don't appreciate the newest upgrade where an instantaneous flash occurs when the correct piece is added. It is definitely annoying. I'd like to turn it off.
Update is awful
Thu Mar 14 2019 Dagan2278I loved playing this game until the most recent update came out. Before the update you could push a button on the puzzle settings menu that would lock the board and keep it from moving. While you can still do this with the new update, it resets every time you start a new puzzle, unlike before when it would stay that way until you changed it again. Having the board be movable is unnecessary to begin with (except for zooming in and out). The scatter function is worse than before and it moves the pieces too far out onto the edges of the board, and I have to move them back in again in order to see them. I play this game on an iPad, and even though the iPad is old, I feel like the ads on this game slow the movements down a lot more, and the pieces don’t follow your finger as well as they used to. Other than those complaints I still really like the game. I enjoy that there are free daily puzzles as well as many free puzzle packs. I also enjoy that you can earn coins with every puzzle you complete, and use those coins to “buy” new puzzle packs. I hate in-game purchases, so having the incentive to do more puzzles in order to get more puzzles is highly rewarding and less draining on my bank account. Many of these puzzle packs are not worth the money, even if they are on sale. I will continue to play this game even with its flaws. I think that it is still worth it and pretty fun to do when you want to relax while being mentally active.
Newest Version Doesn’t Address Old Issues
Wed Mar 13 2019 Uncle Dan 59First I want to say that I put together a puzzle with this software almost every day, so I’m very familiar with it. Unfortunately, the last update is very annoying and disappointing, and they still haven’t addressed older issues that bother an average user, namely; 1. Puzzle image is restricted to a square format; 2. Table size is too small; 3. Auto scattered pieces go nearly off the small table. Here are the issues with the newest version; 1. The overall feel is very jerky. While they may have made the play faster, it feels much more like a computer game than it used to. The smoothness of moving the pieces around is much reduced. 2. The virtual table is way too small no matter what size I set in the preferences. There needs to be more room outside of the puzzle frame to assemble pieces and develop strategy. 3. The pieces seem to violently snap into place when they get close to being correct. 4. The puzzle size is still limited to a square format. 5. Auto scattered pieces still go nearly off the table. 6. When scrolling to the side to see pieces off the playing area, the whole game snaps back too quickly. A larger virtual table may be the solution to this and some of the above issues. I almost never criticize other people’s hard work, but this version leaves a lot to be desired. I really want to give it 5 stars, but I just can’t until they fix the above issues. Please fix a few things and I’ll enthusiastically recommend this app.
