Is This Seat Taken? is a lighthearted yet challenging puzzle game that turns everyday social anxiety into a series of clever logic levels. Your goal is simple: find a place to sit. However, you must navigate a minefield of 'reserved' seats, manspreaders, people with too many bags, and crying babies. Each level presents a different scenario—from a crowded subway to a fancy wedding reception. You'll need to use strategy to position yourself correctly without causing a social faux pas or getting stuck in an uncomfortable conversation. It’s a relatable, funny, and surprisingly deep strategy game.

I didn't expect to be so stressed out by a game about sitting down, but here we are! 'Is This Seat Taken?' is brilliant because it's so relatable. We've all been in that situation where we're scanning a train for a spot that won't result in us being trapped next to a loud snorer. The game captures that tension perfectly but wraps it in a cute, colorful art style.

The puzzles get surprisingly difficult later on, especially the airport lounge levels where everyone has giant suitcases. It requires a lot of 'Sokoban' style thinking. The humor is the standout feature here; the character descriptions and the little speech bubbles that pop up are consistently funny. It's the perfect 'pick up and play' game for your actual daily commute.

Great and very fun but…

It’s replayability is really lacking and given the small amount of levels, that makes it feel slightly unfulfilling. Since it is defaulted to the hardest setting for the requests and you don’t know you can change it unless you go to the settings, there’s basically no reason to replay since you could just remember the solution & playing an “easier” version of it after finishing the hardest version isn’t fun. However, I think the game is very fun and the story line is cute. I appreciate it being completely hand drawn in the times of mobile games using ai images.

A cute little game!

A cute and entertaining puzzle game! I’ve been waiting for this one to come out for a while, and was not disappointed. The puzzles start off easy and scale up to what I’d consider upper-medium difficulty — I got stuck on several for a while but never long enough to get frustrated. The premise of the puzzles is also fun — seating people so that they’re comfortable, with relation to other people (being with friends, not being next to someone wearing too much cologne, sitting beside someone willing to share sunscreen) and environmental details (being in the AC or wanting to sit next to a plant because why not :) ) I completed this game over the course of a long travel day — I’d say it took around five hours to complete, though it would likely take less if you locked in without distractions. Definitely worth the price and highly recommend.

Charming game, doesn’t save mid-level

Super cute and charming game. The puzzles are mostly solved by shuffling things around rather than any big “aha” moments, but there’s a couple interesting constraints. The different wacky scenarios and quirky characters were fun to see any time I picked it up for a quick level. My expectation for a mobile game is that I should be able to pick it up and play in small chunks of time, so I was frustrated to find it doesn’t save after completing a segment of a level, only after completing the entire level. That’s completely normal for Steam, but the reason I got it on mobile (paid more, actually) was because it seemed like the perfect game to play in a couple minutes of downtime. I hope this can be updated to improve the mobile experience.

this game is awesome…despite the rage.

YES. IT IS TAKEN. BY MY BRAIN. THE ONE YOU MURDERED WITH YOUR FIVE THOUSAND RIDICULOUS PREFERENCES. a window? A forward-facing requirement? A slightly-too-cold AC? A little whiff of cologne? I can’t even. I cannot. And don’t get me STARTED on the SURFBOARD, the TROMBONE, the TEACUP, AND THE BRIEFCASES YOU FORGOT TO LOAD INTO THE TRAIN! DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO TETRIS LUGGAGE INTO THE BACK OF A TRAIN CAR WITHOUT LOSING MY MIND??? Noah can’t sit there. Koda can’t move. Nat has dreams. Adley is talking. James has a spine. And somehow, SOMEHOW, the ACs are on and somebody’s smell is offensive. Do you hear me, game?! You are a sadistic genius who just wants to watch me combust. I SWEAR. If I have to switch one more person to satisfy another person’s obsession with cold, hot, facing left, facing right, staring at the ceiling, or the faint smell of someone’s deodorant, I will—I will—throw my device out the window. THIS IS NOT SEATING. THIS IS WAR. THIS IS TORTURE. But still… I survived. My brain is shredded. My patience is a ghost. My sanity is on indefinite leave. But I… I persist Playing this game was fun, when you weren’t screaming. It may deceive you in the beginning with a three seater taxi, but it quickly gets challenging. Once you’ve followed the story into NY, that when you really give up and start asking ChatGPT for help. I digress.

Over too soon!

When a game is REALLY good, you get addicted. And when you’re addicted, you finish the whole game 100% in 3 evenings! I purchased this app on a whim because I thought it looked cute, and prayed that the price tag would pay off- it’s the most expensive app I’ve ever bought. It certainly did pay off with an uplifting and soothing design aesthetic, a heartwarming story, genuinely funny bits and pop culture references, and a very relaxing soundtrack which kept me calm during the handful of stages that I got stuck on for 20 full minutes. I don’t play logic and puzzle games often at all, but don’t let the adorable icon make you think it’s made for kids… the difficulty level challenged me well at age 30! I can only hope that someday there will be additional levels added.

Great but there are issues with the progress saving

Ok so I love this game, it’s a really fun and calm puzzle game. However every time I leave the game, when I come back I’m always on level 5 in the second world. I once got as far as the fourth world only to have to go back to the second. It’s very frustrating and I’m not sure how to fix it. Other than that very solid game but doing the same levels over and over (especially the stadium level) isn’t fun for me. I still play those levels from time to time it’s just sad because I love to play this game.

Cozy & Cute

I love this game! It’s so cozy and cute! There is just one thing tho… When I go back to the main menu after I have done multiple levels. I don’t get the star for some. For example I do 4 levels. Level 1 & 3 don’t have completed stars, only 2&4 have stars. Please fix this. But I still love this game! It’s giving animal crossing puzzle! Just the vibe and the mellow chill music and fun sounds! Also please add more levels I loveee the gameeeee!!

Love this game - wish it had more levels.

I made it through all the levels in less than a week, even just casually playing in the evenings. It’s such a cute, smart, fun game and I wish there were more levels - esp for the price. I hope they release updates! Even though, it was so fun I will probably reset and play again at some point.
