Unpacking+ is nothing short of a masterpiece in subtle storytelling. It manages to evoke a profound emotional connection with a protagonist you never actually see, simply by letting you handle their most personal belongings. The transition from a childhood bedroom to a cramped college dorm, and eventually to a shared home, feels earned and deeply relatable.
From a mechanical standpoint, the 'zen' label is perfectly applied. There is a primal satisfaction in finding the perfect spot for a row of books or neatly stacking plates in a cupboard. The sound design is equally impressive—the distinct 'thud' or 'clink' of every object varies depending on the surface you place it on, adding a layer of immersion that many mobile games overlook. It’s a short experience, but one that lingers in your mind long after the final box is empty.
8 distinct house moves
Meditative gameplay with no timers
Environmental storytelling
BAFTA-winning soundtrack
Haptic feedback support
Start by identifying the category of items in each box. Place large furniture items first to define the space, then move to smaller essentials. Remember that every item has a 'correct' zone, but you have creative freedom within those bounds.
Pay close attention to repeating items like the plush pig or specific diploma. These items track the character's growth and changing relationships across the eight house moves.
The core gameplay involves dragging items from boxes into the environment. You must manage limited shelf and drawer space, effectively solving a spatial puzzle to fit a lifetime of memories into a single room.
While the game requires items to be in logical rooms (e.g., no towels in the kitchen), the specific placement on shelves or desks is up to your personal style.
So when I first started the game, it was so nice. I loved it. I even got my own little book and then when we got to the other thing, I kind of thought it was a brother‘s room, but I found out it was actually the girls so then I realized it was a story of a girl‘s life and had to end with the baby. I loved it. This was literally the best game I’ve ever played in my life this if I could give it 1000 stars then I would know actually a limited. This is so amazing to the people to the people who created this. This is the most amazing game I’ve ever played. It’s very calming very wholesome and when I found out that she made a children’s book with her favorite stuff toy it was so Wholesome you guys made the best game ever and I really appreciate it so keep on doing this stuff like this, and this will be running out the roofs.
While I love this game and played it very often, it’s just too short and buggy. There was a bug on 2012 or 2013 (I can’t remember) that made it so you couldn’t get past it. The bug was that there was a photo that would continue to flash red, despite being on the cork board. The game also feels too short. I wish that there were multiple different possible timelines to unpack instead of just one. However, I love the fact that there was a setting to turn off the items not being placeable in different locations so I could get past the bug and personalize the different rooms in my own ways. I see a lot of people complaining that they don’t like the fact that they can’t personalize the rooms and it gets frustrating, so make sure to turn off this setting if you don’t like the puzzle elements. Overall, love it, but it’s not in its amazing stages yet.
This game is such a beautiful story about a woman growing up and going through life, and you learn so much about the story through the little pieces from past houses that you unpack what she keeps and the new things from every part of her life. You see how they make their way into each new house, and the storytelling about the relationships she goes through is so beautiful. I don’t want to spoil anything, so I won’t give anything away, but I’d recommend this game to anyone who needs a cozy game to just enjoy it helps me get out of the real world like not many other games can!
I loveeeeee this game a lot! I can play this for hours straight and I would not even notice! The only down side is that you ‘misplace’ things and you can’t just place them were you want. Is soooo annoying! And they don’t even give you hints were the item goes. And the levels are short! I wish they were longer. AND the albums are always the same. If they made more levels and added on to the story it would be great! Oh and it gets a little annoying after a while when you take the SAME items out the box each year. Otherwise it’s GREAT! (I also would like it if we could Maybe coustomize our items maybe?)
I really like this game and I was going to buy it on Xbox but I waited and I was so glad I did cause it came to Arcade for FREE I was very relaxed playing this game it brought me joy but It also kinda upset me like the loom thing was a wash rack bruh but I wish there was more I finished in three hours and I wished their was the kid side like there was a kid eventually in the game get his/hers side of the story overall I like it and if you own Xbox there is a game kinda like this called little to the left it doesn’t have a story but you can sort stuff but good game
I am a guy and when I got this game, I expected a chill, relaxing, unpacking sort of game. And for the first level, I was really into it I mean, unpacking a room. It was amazing and super relaxing and while I was going through the level I kind of noticed things like how the person liked writing and soccer. But then I made the second level. I noticed that the person was in college and then I started unboxing things like bras and tampons. I mean, I have sisters so it’s not like I’ve never seen these things before, but it felt pretty weird. Playing a game with them in it. I just said there was a version meant for like male stuff not that woman or bad or anything, but it just kind of was uncomfortable for me.
I have had this game FOREVER! it was originally on nintendo, and i played it for HOURS! And now it’s come to mobiles! Amazing! it’s a whole new experience and it’s truly just awesome. it just came out and i’ve already done it twice through! it’s so much easier on mobile! The only downside is that if you “misplace” and object it won’t tell you where it goes. other than that it’s spectacular! i recommend, it will keep you busy for hours on end.
I rlly love this game, and I’m not really a big fan of games like this so that says a lot tbh. It’s a very relaxing game and a good way to pass time in my opinion 🙂↔️ the only issue I have is the need for more levels, I could play this game hours on end over and over but it would be refreshing to play new levels. Especially long ones like the two story house, that one is my favorite so far 🙂↕️ so yes hehehe add more levels pretty please uwu
