Idle Bank Tycoon is a very polished entry in the 'idle-clicker' genre that focuses on the world of high finance. It captures the satisfying rhythm of optimization—upgrading tellers, improving security, and opening new branches. The progression is well-paced; you always feel like you're just one upgrade away from a massive surge in income. It effectively simplifies the complex world of banking into a series of rewarding progress bars.
The graphics are clean and professional, avoiding the overly-cartoony look of many idle games. While it does lean heavily on the standard mobile mechanics of watching ads for bonuses and managing a 'prestige' system, the 'Bank' theme gives it a more grounded feel than fantasy-themed idlers. It’s a great 'background game' for people who like to see their virtual net worth grow while they're away.
Deep idle management mechanics
Hire and train professional staff
Expand into global bank branches
Satisfying money-stacking visuals
Offline income generation
Prioritize upgrading the 'Counter' capacity early on. If the queue gets too long, customers will leave, costing you potential interest and reducing your hourly profit.
Spend your first big profits on a 'Manager'. Managers automate the collection of money, allowing you to generate income even when the app is closed for several hours.
Prestige resets your current bank but gives you a permanent 'Interest Multiplier' that makes your next bank grow significantly faster.
At first, the game guides you through a tutorial after installing the app. It helped me know what to upgrade and how to win quests for the bank. The instructions are simple enough to understand and the quests are easy to follow along. The hard parts would be that the costs to complete the quests will increase as you go along. Finally, I love how the graphic artists for making the gameplay world looking like 3D Pixels and 2D motion images. This helps to keep the theme of the game on point for what it is. However, the game itself is nothing epic nor strategic to actually fuss about. I’ve played different games with this kind of simple setup and this game is no different. The good thing about it is that helps pass the time when you’re not trying to play to win or gamble anything. Overall, I believe that this app is worth it if your looking for something to pass the time.
I have played lots of mobile games, this is an interesting concept. The problem comes in the execution. First is the ad system, in all the games I have played, this is the most exploitive and abusive system I have ever seen. It takes forever to gain the funds to upgrade, and the costs are insane once you reach a certain point in the game. So here come the ads go in game money. At this point it should be called Idle Ad Watching Tycoon. The offered solution? Unlike most games that give you the option of paying for no ads (which given the overwhelming volume of ads, I would happily pay for) but that’s not the route this game goes for, essentially getting the game paid for, therefore not needing to penalize the player with the endless stream of ads. This game goes for a an equally exploitive and abusive model, you can buy packages of tickets that allow you to end individual ads (given the excessive volume of ads in this game, you would burn through them extremely quickly, needing to buy more.) which certainly explains the abusive volume of ads. Then there are other problems, at certain times the ad system doesn’t actually work, and the other issue is while in the ads you get sent involuntarily to the App Store, this is a frequent and quite annoying occurrence. If they drop the exploitive and abusive ad and ticket system and the forced redirects, you’ll have a great game.
The chapters take "managers" ur managers have a level, and a rarity you'd assume a legendary manager would be better than an epic after acquiring, but youll soon realize its RNG, I had 7k above the power i needed to beat the chapter and LOST with half of the bar filled up, i have 5 legendaries with all 5 of the options and sometimes i replace to have two of the same options for more points, yet i still lose. Not to mention you have beat a whole bunch of the chapters before you even progress to the next bank, even if you fully upgraded ur base get ready for beat chapter 66, then a second quest saying beat chapter 80, then a third quest saying complete chapter 100 before you move on to the next bank, you have to level up ur managers with other managers but they dont ever give you enough, oh and if you want managers to upgrade ur other managers that cost gold but you get that by leveling up and upgrading ur bank, but good luck leveling up when it bricks you at level 30 and you have to fight all these chapters with no gold income because ur bank is fully upgraded. overall 1/100 bad game.
I’d give this game 4 stars easy if it was the game in the preview. And honestly that part is there - nice graphics, good sense of humor lots of over the top banked t- build and decorate. Then there’s the minigame. A lame, tedious match three game. You know it’s tedious when the developers put in an auto play mode after you e played enough levels. And if I only had to play it a few times total, no biggie. But no, you got to play 30-40 levels of it to advance to the next bank. I’m trying to get out of the 5th bank and on level *242* of the match 3 game. All three of my level quests are “play mini game”. I have to get to at least 260 based on the third quest. Been stuck on this level for weeks because I’m sick and tired of the mini game. After every level, even on auto pilot, you need to spend Trillions of in game money to earn the next level, pick your characters, watch it play, accept the win, lather rinse repeat. I play plenty of fun match 3s. This is not one of them. In fact, explaining this has -ur such a bad taste in my mouth thati’m tempted to only give it 2 stars, not 3.
I’ve been playing for around a month now and am currently on the bank Reaching for the Skies and at level 70. I have VIP activated for 30 days and I purchased 500 gold tickets. Building the banks have gone smoothly and I’ve enjoyed the process as well as the mini games so far but Business Mode has been an issue. I have 42 managers out of the 50 possible, 16 of which are Epic and 17 of which are Legendary, and out of those 33, 20 of them are maxed out at level 100. Even with all of that and plenty of lightbulbs, ingots, and golden tickets to spend, I can’t find a way to raise my Efficiency in Business Mode to be enough to pass audits without needing more life. Sometimes the Recommended Efficiency is 20k higher than my maxed out managers can achieve. I have no idea what could possibly done by a player to get past this issue. It’s definitely something that needs attention since leveling up in Business Mode is required to complete banks.
Look, this whole concept of the game is actually fun. I don’t really care how long it takes me to finish a bank and what not but my only concern is the business mode. Business mode is easy, until you get to a point to where you’re not even getting the briefcases. And why is it that the level I’m on in business mode 2x higher than what my managers are? I can’t even catch up no matter how many briefcases I try to save and what not and then open them. I really think it would be fun all around if 1, decrease the amount of levels to complete for each bank and 2 at least give us a chance to increase the levels of our managers because it’s just ridiculous and annoying that I have to do this. I don’t even play as much as I used to now because of it and I don’t want to sit there and waste an hour trying to complete these tasks for the next bank
While I know the ads aren’t required the game definitely pushes them. I knew that going in and still enjoyed checking in, leveling up and playing the game. Over the past few weeks in May a new style of ad has appeared that requires many clicks and pauses to get thru to only receive the same reward as the much short quicker ads that do not require multiple actions. I was happy watching an few ads, getting a boost and jumping that much more forward in the game. However now I have to be very active with these ads. They are ridiculous and not something I’ve seen before. I am ready to remove the game altogether since I can no longer get the joy and entertainment I once did from this game. Each time I try to get a boost I get one of these ads that takes close to a minute if my time and attention. Lastly I cannot even continue to listen to music as it pauses and seemingly closes my music down so I have to leave the app, open my music app and restart my music before I return to the game. I am so disappointed.
I loved playing this game. It’s charming and relaxing. The worst part of the game was business mode already before this last update. For some reason (cash-grabbing) they double-downed and made it even worse, which I would have thought was impossible. The match-3 mini-game is time-consuming without the ads, and is not the reason anyone downloaded this game. While the old business mode was expensive, it was doable. This is literally impossible and has put my game to a halt. I watch the ads at least 10x a day to get free briefcases to level up my managers and I had no difficulty doing business mode before that. Since the last update, I can’t get past this one level and am nowhere close. I’m saddened to say I will probably stop playing the game, because this hurdle is just not possible to jump through without paying real money. I guess the ad revenue just wasn’t cutting it anymore. If they reverse this change, and I really hope they do, I will come back and change my review to 5 stars, because I have really loved this game.
