Rewarding and Timeless

This game may have its issues with powercreep, but I'm pretty sure it will stay playable for f2p, seeing as a large portion of the player base prefers saving money, or simply keeping the challenge. I'm hoping that isn't compromised anytime soon. Regardless, HSR is my favorite gacha game I've played (I played the other 2 big dogs in the gacha world.) The quests are always either funny, profound, engaging, or comforting. The events are very entertaining and well-thought out, but I must ask you to provide more of them! After finishing an event, I feel dread because I don't want to run out of them so quickly, and it seems that Hoyo is a bit slow on pumping them out. The characters are very much my favorite aspect of the game, with lots of nuance, different motivations, and they're not always fixated on the MC, thus letting each character have its own independent value, with whatever unique role they play. The combat is great, I love being strategic but not being stressed by real-time combat, as my hands and fingers hurt sometimes and don't allow me to react quickly. The game environments are engaging, and I hope Hoyo can put out as many puzzles / chests out as possible, as it's one of the easiest ways for f2p to quickly and mindlessly collect stellar jades, though it does take time to find them. Overall, HSR is so relaxing to play, but interesting and "personal" in a way too. The dialogue is pretty good!

Top Tier Game, only a few things…

Let’s start off like this: I love this game. The character designs sre unique, the animations and fighting style are clean and most of the characters really fit their personality and style with in game mechanics. The game is amazing for someone who wants a game they don’t have to spend hours in front of their screen for. The auto battle mode is amazing for people who wanna do other things while they play like that homework assignment that was due last night. Yeah, I’m talking about you. A few things people might complain about is: lack of things to do, very long quests, etc. The rewards the game gives are very generous and whilst this is a gacha game, I’d say you can play it F2P and get MOST things you want. Of course, it just depends. I’m almost fully free to play on the game, minus the one time I spend $10 since I had money to spare, and I’ve gotten my favorite character, Aventurine, and his lightcone. As well as some other amazing characters. The main story quests can be very long at times, which can put some people off. And it DOES take a little skill and practice to get good at the fighting mechanics, but over all the game is 100% worth it if you like anime gacha games with generous rewards and casual ways to farm materials. Later in the game it may appear that there’s a lack of things to do, which can put it off. Depends on how often you play.

Worth playing

First off, I’m going to come out and say that yes, this is a gacha game. However, there are so many ways for players to earn premium currency just by playing the game that being a gacha game makes total sense. I love this game. It’s one of the few games that I can keep up with on a daily basis amidst working full time and 3 children. The events are a decent length of time so I don’t have to feel rushed to complete things. The characters, story and style is just amazing. You can feel the passion put into this game as you play. There are also some auto-play mechanics to help with the dailies so if you don’t have much time to play you can still do it in the background while making breakfast or whatever without having to stress that you don’t have time. I can get all daily stuff done to earn the daily 500 points in 5 minutes. I’m not kidding. When I have the time to sit down and play at night I can focus on the story and running around and having fun. For people with lives a game like this is wonderful. I have been playing daily for the last year and will probably continue to play daily until the game dies. Thank you Hoyo for once again making another phenomenal game and for listening to the players. This is my favorite Hoyo game to date followed by ZZZ.

Phenomenal game

Despite all the recent bad reviews and hooplah that the game has been receiving the game is still great. It’s extremely f2p friendly, you’re almost always given plenty of ingame currency each patch making getting characters you want feel much more obtainable than other games like this. There is powercreep I will admit but you can still clear most content despite that fact. I don’t think the game is pay to win in the slightest, dropping loads of money makes the game tons easier yes but it’s by no means necessary. The game is easy to pickup, has great visuals and music, aswell as a great story. Each character that releases is gong to be stronger than previous and that’s just the way it’s going to be. A car company wouldn’t release a new model of a car from the previous year but make it worse or not change it at all. Global passive drama is taken too seriously at the moment. Players are focusing on that way too much. We’re getting so many quality of life changes, buffs to older characters, and plenty of free rewards aswell as a generous amount of pulls for characters. I recommend the game heavily, the rewards from the developer are generous, the gameplay is satisfying and beautiful with a story that will draw you in and keep you wanting more.

Top Tier gatcha game

I have been playing since launch and even participated in the beta before launch and I still think its one of the best gatcha games out there. There are issues don’t get me wrong, but none of which make the game unplayable or less enjoyable. I am free to play and don’t have good luck when it comes to summons but even with my bad luck I was still able to clear all the content given and endgame content with just a few non meta 5 stars and 4 star units. Unlike other gatcha games the 4 stars are actually pretty useful too! Each character is unique in its own way in terms of story and playstyle mechanics. The devs do listen to the community and work to try improving the game towards the direction players enjoy. Not all decisions are spot on but they definitely do listen as they have addressed their own flaws and improved upon them for the players. Even with the recent Gloval passive being a thing the devs are listening and even scrapping their future plans of future characters having these said passives because the community isn’t happy with these implementations. Regardless what happens I see a bright future and will continue playing the game as a free to play.

Can't play comfortably anymore.

No I'm not taking about the powercreep issue. I physically can't open the game after the 3.8 update and it's very clearly a bug. For context my iPad was running all the previous patches just fine there was very little lag as long as I played smart and now I have to play on a device that runs a million times worse just to do my dailies because it's the only device that runs the game now. I contacted customer service and their solution was basically "get a new device in the meantime lower your graphics settings." This doesn't help because on devices like mine you already have graphics as low as possible because otherwise the game won't run at all. Also I'm not replacing a perfectly functional iPad just for a game when it still works perfectly fine. I will replace my pc that I'm currently playing on but not because of the game that's because it's nearly a decade old and can barely run the browser. I only replace my devices when they get to this point of being barely functional because replacing things is very expensive and I feel pretty upset that that's their solution to a bug. Until the bug is fixed I have to give it a one star because the bug force restarts my iPad whenever I get stuck on the loading screen which is literally every time I open the game now. If it wasn't for this bug and terrible customer service I'd have given the game 4 stars at least as I do love the story and the characters.

Awesome game

It’s a great game with more than the waifus that probably made you download it. The way the story unfolds makes it feel so realistic even for a space rpg. The world building will also make you feel certain ways about almost all characters, each one leaving behind their own storys. The game has amazingly unique and funny dialogue along with some of the most sad moments that make you feel for the characters. The gameplay’s also very fun if you like turn based games. Besides that you can explore and get rewards from almost everything. The later game content definitely tends to lead more into perfecting the simulated universe runs and having a few good teams to clear AS,PF and MOC which is still very clearable with f2p characters. As for paid characters they definitely are almost always the better option however each story quest gives you plenty of gems to be able to snag yourself multiple limited payed banners for free. Overall amazing story that rewards exploration with both rewards and lore. Great characters that allow you to understand them. As well as gameplay that’s both easy to understand and difficult to master for later game content.

Amazing game all around!

As a day-1 player, i can truly vouch for this game. I only leave reviews for games that really deserve it (whether those games be amazing or absolutely atrocious), and in this games case, it truly deserves a review filled with praise. The character design is amazing, the graphics are amazing, the combat is amazing, the amount of content is plentiful, and it runs very very smooth regardless of whether you play on iOS, PC, or PS. I will say though, the lore is rather convoluted compared to Genshin and ZZZ. There isn’t much elaboration that goes on in this game regarding the entities within the games lore. You really have to dig deep and figure the lore out for yourself which can get kind of confusing at times. So learning this games lore requires time and patience. But i highly advise anyone who is considering to play this game to give it a go. It’s a free game so no harm no foul, and despite the micro-transactions, it’s not difficult to earn rewards and characters in-game rather than paying for them. If you value time over money, then whip out the wallet. Otherwise, kick back, grind, and in good time you’ll eventually earn everything you could want simply by just playing.
