Hindsight is a poignant, beautifully crafted narrative journey that uses a unique perspective-shifting mechanic to tell a story about memory and loss. Unlike traditional puzzles that test your logic, Hindsight’s puzzles are emotional; you rotate and align objects from a woman's past to open windows into her memories. It feels less like a game and more like an interactive poem about the objects we leave behind and the weight they carry.
Visually, the game is stunning in its simplicity. Every transition feels fluid, pulling you deeper into the protagonist's life as she returns to her childhood home. It’s a short experience—best played in one sitting with headphones—but its impact lingers long after the credits roll. It’s a masterclass in 'environmental storytelling' where a simple tea cup or a window frame can evoke a lifetime of regret or joy. If you loved 'Florence' or 'Old Man's Journey,' this is a mandatory experience.

Memory is a puzzle
Mon Jun 05 2023 GebloomPeople pay a lot of money to therapists to find their memories, but memories aren’t found, memories evolve with your life experiences. Hindsight is a simple visual puzzle of accompanying another down that path. It’s also gorgeous and accompanied by pleasant music. I enjoyed the experience. You might too.
Excellent but not a game
Sun Sep 04 2022 CaroCaro68I love Annapurna’s games, which is why I bought this one, but an hour in and I just don’t see that it’s a game. It’s a sort of graphic story, it’s engaging and well done, but there is no skill or choice or thinking or mystery. I probably would have bought it anyway to support the publisher of the fabulous Gorogoa and Donut County. But still, it’s not a game.
