Fixed minor issues.
Grand Prix Story is a masterclass in the management sim genre, proving that Kairosoft's signature 'addictive loop' works perfectly in the world of motorsport. You start with a scrappy team and a slow car, but the satisfaction of researching your first high-performance engine and seeing your driver climb the podium is unparalleled. The pixel art style is charming as ever, but don't let the cute visuals fool you—there is deep strategy involved in choosing the right tires for different terrains and balancing your mechanics' workloads.
What makes this game a 'just one more week' experience is the constant sense of progression. Whether you are upgrading your facilities, hiring better sponsors, or developing a new vehicle for the next big circuit, there is always a goal in sight. It manages to capture the tension of a race through simplified visuals that still make your heart race when your driver tries to overtake on the final lap. It is a must-play for simulation fans and racing enthusiasts alike.

Classic Kairosoft Pixel Art
Start by hiring a mechanic and a driver. Use your initial funds to research a basic chassis and engine. Once built, enter local races to gain research points and money, which you can then reinvest into more advanced parts and better staff.
While you don't drive the car directly, you oversee the race. You must choose the correct tires (slick, off-road, or radial) based on the track surface and ensure your driver is well-trained to handle high-speed turns.
Yes, Grand Prix Story is a premium title that can be played entirely offline once downloaded.
EDIT: like 5-7 years later got this game again. Played nonstop beat it in 7 hours - maxed stats, 999 research points, beat Kairoland track, have 2 kairo kars. Game was too addictive so deleted it lol. But super fun and very well made. I love how much detail Kairo put into this. I mean they have successfully reached the hardcore race-fan crowd with this. Even in the animations during racing, the more you train your drivers the cleaner the apexes they take and the more they go WOT. Also the names are a hoot and cleverly done, like "Ireton Cena", "S. Bettel", "Lou Hampton", and the game just seems to pick fun at itself and not take itself to seriously as you play. Fun game, if you like and respect racing, you'll enjoy it. If you like simulation/management games, you'll enjoy it too.
I have played beastie bay and Game dev story, and I liked the way you play. It may get hard at a point (formula Asia) but it's still good. If you are in thought of how to play, you use money to upgrade the cars and research new ones, while hiring and training a crew. You aren't the driver, all you do is watch, but it's fun to cheer
One of the few games that I've had on my phone since it came out. But can we please have a new one.
Well I play this game since they released it and still play it till today. But there is a bug that never happened before. When I moved up to Formula Asia, I have 2 teams now. Normally when cars were fixed, the driver and crews’ status will go up randomly. But my 1st team stat got nothing, all I get is tech +0, pedal +0 and all +0. Do you know why this happened?
Well worth the purchase, one of the better Kairosoft games
Im at year 6 with tons of money and progress during the Grand Prix last race I sold my car & made a new one but i didn’t finish in time, I won & was prompted to the ceremony and a notification box pops on my screen with the following “an error occurred” and I can’t continue PLEASE HELP
Fun but it gets old. There is almost no replay ability for this game
I haven't enjoyed a Kairosoft game this much since Game Dev Story, but that's because I am not a big fan of the space management and planning layouts. This game has gone back to the roots of purely hiring, upgrading, and researching for your racing team. I know some people may find it tedious to watch your racer participate in the races, but I find it exciting to see the races unless I'm losing for sure. Perhaps putting in an option to skip races would appease some of the unsatisfied customers. The only problem is to beware if you're playing on a 2nd generation iPod Touch. The training menu and the picture of your team is flickering which is quite annoying which give me headaches after prolonged periods of playing. I have heard of the case from a few people with 2nd gen iPod Touches and I hope Kairosoft fixes the problem because it is inhibiting the enjoyment of the game.
