Our Expert Score

92/100

Genshin Impact is a masterclass in open-world design, especially for the mobile platform. From the moment you step into Teyvat, the sheer scale of the world and the fluidity of the combat system are breathtaking. What sets it apart isn't just the 'breath of the wild' style exploration, but the intricate Elemental Reaction system. Swapping between characters to trigger Vaporize, Melt, or Swirl adds a layer of tactical depth that keeps the grind feeling fresh even hundreds of hours in.

The production value is unrivaled in the free-to-play space. The orchestral score is region-specific and stunning, and the visual fidelity (if your device can handle it) is top-tier. While the gacha mechanics are present and can be tempting, the game is surprisingly generous with its primary story content—you can clear almost everything without spending a dime. It's a living, breathing world that feels more like a AAA console title than a typical mobile app.

Amazing just a few problems..
Tue Jul 15 2025 Bagofbeens

This game is amazing and really fun to play but I have a few problems with this game and some of the characters the problem with this game is it’s not very Friendly to the people who can’t afford the crystals in the shop for example you need at least three limited five start to play with Skirk one of the new five stars and of course the free to play players can still play the game but it’s a bit difficult. Also I’ve had a glitch in my game where I didn’t get my Star glitter I have gotten Mavuika and Yao Yao but I still have not received my Start glitter I have not been spending it on Wishes or other items it never gave me my Start glitter. Overall this game is great but the lack of diversity is sort of a problem in the game for example people on the internet are fighting over Iansan. People say she is grey others say is she has darker skin people complain about Natland and how the characters are “to white” I personally don’t care if a character it’s has a darker skin color than another character it’s not a problem to me but it does get annoying having to see all of that complaining. One last thing please bring back the voice actors for some characters the game play isn’t the same without the voice actors. If the voice actors aren’t willing to come back I understand they might have some issues at home or with kids. Overall this game is very good I am willing to play and recommend the game to more potential players.

I don’t see the issue…

I was thinking about buying this game for a long time and was constantly looking at reviews, a lot said that it wasn’t worth your money, it gets boring at a high AR, you can’t get characters you want. As an AR 57 player now with no quests to do, 100% exploration in EVERY region, and being f2p, im still not seeing an issue. The game is gorgeous and the events of every patch give me the primo gems I need to pull for characters. For example the version 3.3 patch 2nd half was Raiden and Ayato, I love them both and wanted them both so much. I managed to get them both even though I had only saved 30 wishes. The game is beautiful, characters are stunning, and the new events, characters, and regions that are coming will help new players. Genshin is still a relatively new game and is always coming out with more stuff. This is one of the few games I can play for hours even though there isn’t much for me to do. You can co-op with people and help others and helping with lower AR players allows you to experience the game again. Also you can always create another account and re-experience the whole game and it’s beauty all over again. I think people should stop complaining there’s nothing to do at a high ar, or that genshin is a scamming us for money, because it turns people off from the game, even though none of it is true. (There is also the teapot you can work on, friendship you can farm, materials to collect, artifacts to roll, there is so much to do in this game)

Not entirely new player friendly.

I usually play a game for a long time before writing a review and since I’ve been playing this game since the fischl event and I forgot to ever write a review I figured I could write one now. This game gets boring quick, when I said I’d been playing the game since the fischl event does not mean I’ve been playing the game consistently, I took like a 5month break from this game because it was super boring and I was questioning if I should or shouldn’t give my account away. I’m glad I didn’t because this is also a game you can just pick up and enjoy if you haven’t played it in awhile but it soon gets boring again. I play it consistently now but I can see other players running into this issue, your game needs more fun content like windblume. It’s not entirely new player friendly either, new players having missed certain events and will never get a weapon that was in that event. Just because they didn’t play the game at that time. It’s also really difficult now with inazuma and soon Sumeru newer players have to power through the game to level up a character they may have gotten like kokomi, they would have to power all the way into watatsumi island just to get her ascension materials. Besides these 2 major issues the game is fun and I like it some inazuma quests are buggy though. The graphics are gorgeous I like the character designs and personalities, I enjoy the main story, keep going with that I’m very curious on how the traveler is gonna find their sibling.

A must get game!

To start, genshin is free to play! No cost at all! No ads! The gameplay and graphics are stunning. I play this game nearly every day. Of course, all things have their cons. The amount of rewards is pretty decent, but not nearly as good as Honkai: Star Rail. Honestly, I really don’t mind but I’m sure some do. Storage may be an issue to mobile players. The game takes about 30 GBs of space, I play on PC so it really isn’t an issue for me. I think that’s really all that’s “bad.” Now, all in all, the game is certainly high quality. There are still consistent updates. I’d say about a month or so in between new patches. Now for my favorite part: The characters! There is a variety of characters! All of them have voice actors that do and exquisite job! Each and every character design is gorgeous and unique. I’d say there’s about 70-80 characters since patch 4.5! Each character is very lovable, as in the characters feel very real. They all have unique stories, abilities, etc. Each and every quest can range from solving a puzzle to arresting a crazy person! I love the fantasy-medieval theme. Though, each region is unique! My personal favorite characters are Kaeya and Diluc! I would say that the game is a bit more fun if you spend some time actually exploring and learning about your characters. Overall, 5 stars. An absolutely fantastic experience. Do keep in mind, genshin is not mobile friendly when it comes to storage space!! Thanks for reading this! I’ll see you in Teyvat, Traveler!

Amazing !!

Honestly probably one of my favorite games of all time !! The gameplay is fun story line is interesting and always exciting when a new story quest comes out , and the different characters and regions are all gorgeous and unique !! Definitely takes a bit the learn the game first starting out but it’s so fun !! Wish that they’d release skins for traveler maybe when a new region comes out to make playing traveler more interesting I suppose , also kinda sad I didn’t get the 4th birthday cake this year that I was looking forward to not sure if it was a glitch or something , also wish there was a little more to do in multiplayer I love playing games with my siblings and trying to get my brother into the game !! Sometimes can’t play the game because it takes up so much space which is understandable because it truly is a breathtaking game and pretty much one of the only games I return to quit often !! Just wish I could play it more often without worrying about space , love the events a lot as well that each one is different and adds some excitement !! Just an amazing game overall also a free to play game for most stuff and pretty much earn everything exapt some skins , me personally I have spent some money on getting 2 of my favorite characters and one of their skins ! But definitely free to play friendly !! 🩷 love this game and will always come back to play ! So excited for the new pyro region looks awesome !! Also love that they have social platforms to keep you updated on what’s coming to the game !! 🩷🩷🩷

😍💅✨An explanation of the game…✨💅😍
Tue Jan 17 2023 hutaosmushyroom

Starting out, the game explains the beginning of the storyline. With the help of your companion paimon, you learn the controls of the game and uses of the buttons. You basically go through all of the world’s wonderful regions inspired by real life places, at the start of the game, the only region was Mondstadt. The game continues to add even more regions. Up until now, there’s 4 huge regions to explore while completing your archon quest (storyline quests) so you meet new characters with their own wonderful jobs and personalities and powers. Once you’re in adventure rank 5, you can start using the gacha system. You exchange primogems (one of the currencies) for wishes, which you use to obtain different characters (4 stars or 5 stars) and weapons (1,2,3,4, and 5 stars) You might get lucky! With the characters you’ve obtained, you can fight against enemies. Some enemies have their own story behind them. Genshin hosts different events from time to time, so make sure to check them out in the event menu! You can unlock more things through adventure ranks, otherwise known as, game level. Also, the graphics are 🔥✨AMAZING✨🔥 if you have lots of space in your device, otherwise you might wanna turn the graphics down a little so you don’t get too laggy! The characters are actually really cool and pretty! So don’t worry about them being uglier than advertised! So yeah these are the basics, and you might learn more stuff along the way. Have a fun time playing! :D

Amazing game with room for improvement

I love genshin with all my heart, and its characters, music, world, and story are so so amazing. However, as a free to play (F2P) player, who doesn’t spend money to obtain characters/Primogems, it can be really really difficult to guarantee a character. Not only with characters though, I feel like the game itself is quite unfriendly to F2P players, or new players in general. There’s always new content, which consists of events, new areas to explore, etc. However, I’ve had a problem where I’m behind on story or archon quests which are necessary to take part in such events or to unlock new ares or bosses, and there’s always new things coming out. Also I’m not sure if this is just me, but it seems like there are also some quests that are actually really important to the overall story and the experience you have in the game that were only available for a limited time. I am aware that I am probably not spending as much time as I could be playing the game, but there are a few things that cause me to procrastinate/think of it as a drag. If you are someone who is thinking of downloading the game, it is a beautiful gacha game with some downsides (but there’s always those), interesting and gorgeously designed characters, tons of possibilites to explore and fight cool creatures, and just overall fun :D This is just my personal experience with the game, but of course everyone does things at their own pace and in their own way. So overall, amazing game with room for improvement.

Awesome game but very glitchy for me
Sun Aug 21 2022 chicken 🥰🥰😩😩😏😏😏😏😏😏

Hey genshin, i love your game and it’s truly amazing. I would rate it 5 stars but im rating it 3. Here is why: It it pretty glitchy for me and i was hoping you guys would be able to fix the quality and graphics for the 9.7 inch iPad pro. Quality and graphics play a major part in genshin. Sometimes when ive been playing the game for a little bit, (about 20 mins) imight wanna go to maybe change my characters build. But when i tap the place to go there, it just kicks my out of the game. Also sometimes randomly, it just kicks my out while im just playing the game normally. It make me pretty frustrated. Also, since my quality is pretty bad, my builds for my characters are bad too. its because whenever i go into a domain to get some artifacts, when im ready to go in i obviously tap the ready button, but you know what happens? It kicks my out of the game. Another thing i wanna say about quality is that its just REALLY glitchy for me. Whenever i go into battle i dont know what happening because the screen just freezes. Same with the cutscenes. The cutscenes just freeze too. Now ill go to talk about the graphics. for me, the graphics are pretty bad. i cant have good graphics without it being overclocked. So basically i cant have good graphics and i want you guys to fix it. Same with the quality. Over all that, I LOVE YOUR GAMEEEEEEEEEEE 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍😍💀😍😍🌹🌹🌹😜😜😜😜😜🌹🌹😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍🤤🤤😩🤤🤤😩🥰💅🥰🤤🥰💅💅😩💅💅💅🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🐱.
