Sky: Children of the Light is more than just a game; it’s an emotional journey. Developed by the creators of Journey and Flower, it carries that same poetic, non-verbal storytelling that touches the soul. The visual design is breathtaking, with vast, cloud-filled vistas and a lighting engine that is truly remarkable for a mobile device.
What makes Sky special is its focus on positive social interaction. You don't 'fight' other players; you hold hands, share light, and play music together. The sound design and orchestral score are world-class, making every flight through the clouds feel majestic. It’s a peaceful, communal experience that restores your faith in humanity. It is, quite simply, one of the most beautiful things you can experience on a screen.
Stunning, ever-expanding world
Unique non-verbal communication
Orchestral soundtrack and live instruments
Seasonal events and new stories
Collect 'Winged Light' to upgrade your cape. The more energy your cape has, the higher and longer you can fly. Look for glowing silhouettes in hidden corners of every realm to find them.
To interact with another player, you must first light their candle. Once you've shared light, you can offer a candle to forge a friendship, allowing you to hold hands and fly together through difficult sections.
Yes, it is a 'social' multiplayer game where you will naturally encounter other players as you explore the world.
In my opinion, sky could hardly be better. The graphics are incredible, and the places you can go to are amazing, but I have some suggestions. 1 sky kids could have a place to permanently save outfits somewhere. There could be a special spot in both aviary (sorry if I spelled that wrong) and the original home some people still use. If you changed homes, your outfits that were saved could be transferred to that special place, depending which home you pick. 2 if you save choose to put your outfits in a different place that all sky characters who have completed all 6 worlds could access, they could send you requests to use your outfit for a short amount of time, if they have all of the accessories on it. 3 (this is no longer about outfits) for moths (new players) to have an option to have a tutorial about all the 6 worlds, to prevent them from going around without the basic knowledge or other players spreading misinformation to them. 4 (this is no longer about moths) to have the ability to trade candles and buy hearts, this is because some people who want accessories but don’t have that many friends in the game yet could easily get hearts, or maybe earn them like candles (aside from receiving light) Other than all those suggestions (which I do hope you take into consideration, it has taken me quite a long time to type this) sky truly is a great game, and I would recommend it to anyone. Thank you for taking the time to read this, I know it is long. -ARYA >-[*_* ]-<
I’ve been playing this game since Season of Dreams, which was about three years ago. This game is absolutely wonderful! You make lots of new friends, the fan base isn’t toxic, the scenery is beautiful, and it’s all free! Mostly. We’ll get to that. There are so many options built into the game to interact with other friendly people, like playing instruments together, flying around and doing shenanigans, or prodding the game for glitches and shooting up into the air at supersonic speeds. It’s very fun, but sooner or later you realize that companies unfortunately have to make money in order to continue to produce free content. They really don’t push in-app purchases at you too much, but I will admit that the game is a lot more fulfilling if you spend money on it. After you’ve kind of done everything, you get into the waiting phase where your friends go inactive and you end up grinding for candles all the time. If you want any of the cool items, you have to grind consistently for about 45ish minutes a day for a couple weeks straight without missing any days. I mean, I’m cool with it, but it’s definitely not for everyone. I stick around for the wacky people you meet and the spectacular art reference tool it can be, as you can pose your lil character and dress them with a very well designed wardrobe. All in all? I’d say get it! Experience the game for yourself, then decide if you really wanna stick around. If so, see you in the clouds!
Honestly this is the most smoothest fun gameplay I’ve ever played in my life. It’s so smooth and well made and something about it just makes it my favorite game, it’s peaceful if one day you ever just want to relax after a long day and even if you want to play a musical instrument and make your own songs as long as others songs you can play, and it’s so Have collect candles and give it to spirts to get stuff from it and decorate your home in sky with candles and light. You can also find wing light to fly even higher and stronger. It also fun because there’s a entire community and the creators actually care about the game for the sixth anniversary of sky they went out of there way to do interviews with some of the people there and even little movies, the creators take it so seriously and it’s just so fun and entertaining. There’s multiple little words you can go through wether you want a peaceful one, a rainy, a scary, or a fun world they have it. And if you do say something mean while texting they will give you two warning and after that second warning don’t expect you’ll speak ever again, once again the creators take protecting the players very seriously. And everybody in sky is so nice, if your ever going through a hard time they understand and are willing to do anything to make you feel better, everyone there is just so talented including the creators. I love the game so much and I recommend you playing it to if anyones reading this anyways bye *+- Children Of The Light *+-
As I'm writing this review it's my first day of playing it. First of all it's easy and simple to play, when I first seen this game I thought it was just going to be a game where you learn and watch. I was really wrong, this game is very calm, fun, and you can make friends! This is the first time I've rated a game 5 stars and I personally think that this is one of the best games I had. I met this one person on here and they were really nice and helped me throughout the game, (yes this is my first day playing) people in here seem really nice and I'm happy that you made this game for people to enjoy. The only downside to this game in MY opinion is, actually NOTHING this game is just so great! Each time I make a review I just write a bit, but for this I can write soooo much about it even tho I've only played for less than an hour. I suggest you to try it (who evers reading this) even if you don't think you'll like it. Just give it a chance and this might turn into one of your favorite games out there. One of my favorite things about this game is that it gives us notifications about when our friend is online instead of waiting, another one of my favorite things is that it's not one of those games where it just tells you what to do. You can explore on your own and the art is great! The sounds also give us a great experience for what we're doing in the game. I hope you also enjoy this game like I am!
I have been playing for about a year now and so far I’ve enjoyed the game! I’ve met so many different people from different countries! Sometimes if I’m bored in Sky I go to Daylight Prairie to meet new players or maybe just to hangout with random people. It’s honestly really welcoming to everyone a bit of toxic players here and there. A large amount of people I meet are older than me and I’m fine with it, they’re super fun to hang out with. It’s a good game to play once too. A lot of new players usually hate the ‘ending’ and quit so it’s usually a one played game. Though Sky does have events and seasons. But I recommend not to buy anything! Not until you get the ending cause I promise you, you will not be happy. You would most likely never play again or play for a long time based on my experience. Also please know that the cosmetics/outfits are hard to get D: unless it’s from a season. Most items cost around (in game currency) 5-160 hearts. If it’s from a season you could only buy a limited amount of outfits and if you have the pass you can get all of the stuff. In the season it has it’s own currency and it’s much easier to get but that means more higher prices 16-27 which it’s that bad. And the traveling spirit is really hard. 20-85 candles for the outfits which isn’t bad either but the amount of grinding I would have to do! Anyways, I don’t care much about the cosmetics but if you want friends or a place to clam down to, this game will be available
I love sky to the bottom of my heart, and even when It’s gone, it will always have so many good memories attached to it. However, I would like to address some things. Firstly, PLEASE listen to your fan base! Sky I think would benefit so much from a little acknowledgement, and I know that you have let some players down with the next season. (Season of remembrance) Secondly, I get it that PlayStation needs it’s own little device exclusive items, but honestly I really just feel so sad that the journey cosmetics I cannot get! I know they wouldn’t be that special if everyone could get them, but I really like them and think they’re gorgeous and so beautifully modeled. (I’m a mobile player) And lastly, season of shattering and the shards. And boy do I have a lot to say on this one. Season of shattering felt like such a loss… with this concept in mind I really feel like you could’ve done so much more! But instead we ended up with a season with no emotes, calls, or stances, and a buggy new mechanic. The shards just felt so empty, and don’t even get me started on the confusion with the lore this season brought up! The lore of sky is already vague and confusing, and I’m sure many players would have loved more lore clarity. Besides, the cosmetics were just kinda mid. So do I still love sky? Yes. But do I think it is perfect? No. So overall, I hope that this game gets all the attention it deserves and continues it’s amazing journey. Sincerely, Jocelyn.
In my opinion this was an amazing game. The graphics are aaammmmaaaazinnnggg and the story is really interesting. It might be confusing for some to start with because there is very little instructions but i was ok with it, the little instructions made it so that ho have to figure out the story and so that you must realize what your suppose to be doing, and i like that. One thing that I don’t like about this game is all of the other players, sometimes they can get annoying and I don’t really like playing with other people that I don’t know. I would personally like this game better if either it was a single player game, or maybe you could just invite other players that u actually know to come play with you. But i get that the main purpose of this game is to make friends so i get why it’s multiplayer. Overall this is such an amazing game and it’s defiantly worth your time!! I loooove the frequent updates and events they are all so fun and cool. One thing that i would really enjoy is bringing back past events, i’ve missed a few that i’ve REALLY wanted to do like the one where you could get the umbrella to shelter your friends on the rain with. But that’s just an opinion. Also could you possible make it a little easier to get candles? because between trying to make friends and trying to get new outfits i usually choose friends and then i’m stuck with the same cape and hair for the most part of the game while my friend has the coolest stuff 😂. Thanks for reading 🥰. Thank you devs for such an amazing game!!!!!!
I spend a large majority of my time while online playing this game, and there are so many reasons because of this! It has beautiful graphics, runs smoother than butter (most of the time) and the players are the nicest you can found out there! I have almost no issues with this game, other than the prices. I’ve spent a lot, and I not kid you, a LOT of money on this game. I don’t mind spending on it because I adore it, but maybe drop the prices slightly? Because, I mean I know I get 115 candles with the beta cape, but 30 bucks is semi expensive! A odd suggestion I would like to make is for a new cape if you have anymore upcoming seasons planned. I know you’ve worked on Journey, and though I haven’t played it (yet) it looks fantastic! But a thing that caught my eye is the travelers robe. I love how it covers their hands, and I know that the basic stance in Sky covers your hands too, but when you walk/run/slide, it just ruins the effect. Maybe have one of the spirits for the next season have a cape that covers your entire body? I mean, you already went the extra mile this season giving us players what we have been wanting; an invisible cape (well, it’s a scarf, but when I wear it I forget that’s it’s actually a cape and that I’m not capeless!) I just think this would be a cool idea to take to consideration! Thanks for taking time to read my review, and keep up your amazing work!
