Fraction War is an educational game designed to help students visualize and compare fractional values in a fast-paced 'War' style format. Fraction War is an excellent educational tool that takes the classic 'War' card game and turns it into a math lesson. As a parent, I love how it visualizes fractions, making it easier for kids to understand why 3/4 is larger than 2/3. It’s simple, effective, and keeps the competitive spirit of the original game.
While the interface is a bit dated, the logic is sound and follows the RightStart Math curriculum approach. It’s a great way to squeeze in some extra practice during car rides or waiting rooms without it feeling like 'homework.'

Tips & Walkthrough
Start with halves, fourths, and eighths. When two cards are revealed, tap the one that represents the larger portion of the whole to collect the cards.

If both cards are equal in value, it's a War! Place three cards face down and one face up to determine who takes the entire pile.

Lower levels work
Sat Aug 02 2025 MTtoINThe Beginner and Easy levels are correct but the Medium level has too many mistakes. The game is fun but with it giving you incorrect answers the player is frustrated or learns wrong information. Hope they fix the problems.
Poor execution = bummed out learners
Fri Feb 19 2021 CjinwaRight Start math curriculum users here. We like playing the physical card games that come with the curriculum and we were excited about the concept of these games on the go. Great in theory, but like *all* the other games by the developer, this one has some major flaws. There is no real score that happens during play, the “points” (if I can assume that is what the number adjusting with each hand is), and it does not seem to reflect actual game play. The biggest reason my kids hate playing this version of the game (which means it is not getting played which makes the purchase worthless) is NO ONE WINS. It is just endless play. What is the point of that? Seriously, if you are going to charge people for these games at least make sure they function properly and follow basic game construction with clear winners/losers, the ability to undo a move (in games where it is applicable like Corners) and the ability to pause and return to a game mid play without losing the game (also a problem with Corners). These should be easy development things to fix but unfortunately, based on the lack of response from the developer to any customer reviews/feedback, they care more about getting a few extra bucks than actually having apps that work well for students, which fit a learning curriculum you’d think would be top priority.

Wed Jan 08 2020 prtyshrtWell honestly the game is terrible. It makes no sense you play fake player and it’s just a VERY bad concept like you can’t make it equal! I would definitely not recommend this for kids. Maybe the worst game I have ever downloaded!!! Didn’t work!!!
