Dragonspear-Ex is a breathtaking return to the side-scrolling action RPG genre, reminiscent of classics like Dragon's Crown but tailored for the mobile experience. The hand-drawn art style is the immediate standout, featuring lush environments and character designs that pop with fluid animations. Every slash and spell feels impactful, thanks to a robust combat system that rewards timing and combo execution rather than just mindless tapping.
The progression loop is deeply satisfying. With six distinct heroes to master—each offering a vastly different playstyle—the replayability is high. Whether you're tanking with the Knight or weaving spells with the Sorceress, the tactical depth remains consistent. The equipment farming and customization systems provide enough 'crunch' for hardcore RPG fans without becoming overwhelming for casual players. It’s a premium-feeling experience that respects the player's time and skill.
Six unique playable hero classes
Gorgeous hand-drawn 2D graphics
Intense real-time boss raids with friends
Deep skill and equipment customization
Challenging abyss and challenge modes
Success in Dragonspear-Ex relies on linking basic attacks with skills. Launch enemies into the air and use mid-air skills to maintain juggles, preventing them from counter-attacking. Watch your mana meter to ensure you have enough for a defensive dash if the boss prepares a heavy hit.
Once you clear the main story chapters, head to the Raid portal. Team up with other players to take down gargantuan bosses. These encounters drop rare materials needed to craft 'Set Items' which provide massive stat boosts and unique set bonuses for your specific class.
No, Dragonspear-Ex is designed for manual play to emphasize the skill-based combat and combo mechanics.
Have over 40n hours in so far and still great. Only five dollars and you get a game with a bunch of expansions. Used to be an IAP game but they took out all the IAP. Great beat em up game reminiscent of golden ax or dragons crown. 6 playable classes. Lots of gear to grind and upgrade. The only downsides: The English is not perfect but it is understandable anyways who plays games like this for the story… It does have pretty thirsty anime graphics. Outfits range from bikinis to pants suits though so you can dress your character modestish. Also usually the screen is exploding and hectic so you barely notice it. No IAP No ads. All currency is earned by helping others in random games. Optional 4 player drop in co-op raids. But come endgame this is the primary form of progression (when you become powerful enough you can try and solo). They go from pretty easy to quite difficult. They are tiered and need to be unlocked. Each fight lasts about 1-3 mins with tougher mobs I’ve gone as long as 7 mins. Really fun fights though. Once you get to endgame I would suggest looking up some of the guides on steam. This is just a starting point and you can figure out a lot of build yourself. Overall this game is an absolute steal at $5 and my favorite of 2022 so far. Lots of endgame builds and items to collect. You are limited to a certain set of phrases you can use to interact with others but for the most part almost the entire playerbase I’ve met have been very polite.
This game is FANTASTIC! It’s an action RPG very similar to Dragon’s Crown and a little bit of Dungeon Fighter. Full on premium game, one time purchase and you can play offline, and farm all gear in game! Awesome Features: + Gorgeous Dragon Crown like graphics. + Awesome real-time combat! + Awesome Character designs! + Great character classes that all play unique! + Town Hub with character interactions/Stores. + iCloud save data support! + Responsive touch controls + Decent music (not Yuzo Koshiro memorable though…) + Replay levels to level grind and farm as much as you want! + Cool unlock-able abyss dungeons for better resources with multiplayer option! + Only 1 bonus dungeon IAP and it’s TOTALLY optional (I got it! 😁) + Switch between playable characters anytime between levels! + Character dialogue cutscenes to advance story. Recommendations: - Option to adjust touch control button sizes! (controls are VERY responsive as long as you touch them directly, would be nice to be able to make bigger…) - IAP restore purchases option (couldn’t seem to get IAP purchase to show on my other devices as it asked me to buy again. DID stay on my initial device purchased on though!) - Ability to build friendships/relationships with other characters (icing on cake, not needed) Overall if you like action RPG’s, especially like Dragon’s Crown, I would HIGHLY recommend Dragons’s Spear EX! 5 Stars!
The game screams Dragons Crown. Has that DFO feeling & also people should be praising the fact it went from freemium gacha to b2p and removed all the gacha mechanics. Endgame is online co-op boss raids. You can use all classes on same account and freely flip between them. For fans of looters that play like beat ‘em ups; definitely worth the price point. Only thing this really needs is mfi support & hopefully more content on the way!
Even tho the game is pretty good, as far as I’ve seen, this was originally launched on Steam four years ago, and the content seems more or less the same, so I doubt we will get anything new (hopefully I’m wrong and the developer won’t just leave it like it). It would be great full controller support, by the way, but then again, we might not see any real updates :/ (please tell me I’m wrong!).
When I just press the attack button, the character will act and keep move forward, thats really weird, I didn't press the direction button, but the action keep moving the character, and it makes me always lose the target, could you make some change?
One time purchase. No ads. Farm all the items by playing. Great characters. Wonderful art. Entertaining gameplay. Giant boss raid coop battles. Just get it if you’re even slightly into this type of game because $5 is really a great price considering how enjoyable it is.
This game screams MFI controls needed. Combat is fun and seems to be pretty polished. The humor too is great, especially with the gunner character when she refuses to save any of the hostages. But alas, MFI controls aren’t quite there yet. When I try to use my xbox controller in game, the thumb stick seems to work fine but none of the buttons or triggers work. Please fix this!
Seems like there's little direction to this game. Should I be focusing on one particular raid over another? No idea. Does a high quality lower level weapon matter more or less than a higher level weapon? No idea. Once you hit max level 50, which takes 2-3 days of casual gameplay, what is your main goal? No idea. Am I focusing on raid equipment, store equipment, or story equipment? No idea.
Controls and combat are incredibly smooth, the game is gorgeous, initial soundtrack is fantastic and it's wonderfully polished. I'm still very...
