Cahoots is a rare gem in the world of digital card games: a truly cooperative experience that relies on collective intelligence rather than individual greed. The digital port by Digidiced is excellent, capturing the colorful, vibrant aesthetic of the physical game while automating the rule-checking that can sometimes slow down the tabletop version.
The beauty of Cahoots is its simplicity—matching colors and numbers to meet specific goals—but the 'limited communication' aspect creates a wonderful tension. You find yourself trying to 'read' your teammates' intentions through their discards. It’s a short, punchy game that is perfect for a quick mental workout with friends or strangers online. It’s wholesome, clever, and highly addictive.

Focus on goals that require specific sums (like 'All cards sum to 15') first. These are harder to hit as the deck thins out. Simpler color-matching goals can usually be finished as a secondary action.
Watch what your teammates are hovering over. If a player repeatedly checks a specific pile but doesn't play, they likely have a card that completes a goal but are waiting for a color change.
Yes, Cahoots features a robust solo mode where you manage the hand and goals against a timer.
At first I thought there were a couple bugs with cards not clearing, but it was just me not being clear on the rules of why/when certain cards clear. I haven’t had any issues with that anymore. This is an excellent brain-teaser game. I like that there are three levels you can choose from depending on how challenging you want it to be. The expert level is indeed difficult. The only reason I docked a star is that it needs battery optimization. It drains faster than a card game should. My phone gets a tad warm if I play too many games in a row. It’s tolerable, but that issue does affect how long I choose to play. I do appreciate the fair price with no ads or IAP. I recommend this solo game if you want something that can be relaxing but still challenging.
