Bugfixes of achievements and scores.
Blätterrauschen (Rustling Leaves) is a digital adaptation of a 'roll and write' board game that perfectly captures the changing of the seasons. The brilliance lies in its simplicity: you roll two dice to determine the area you can mark off, then choose a forest symbol to score. However, each of the four seasons introduces its own unique scoring rules, which completely changes your strategy every few months.
Spring focuses on growth and connection, while Winter requires a more cautious, survivalist approach to points. The game strikes a fine balance between safe, consistent scoring and 'push your luck' mechanics that can yield massive rewards if the dice roll in your favor. It’s a thoughtful, tactical experience with a beautiful naturalistic presentation that feels as crisp as a walk in the woods.
4 seasonal game boards
Tactical 'push your luck' gameplay
Weekly global highscore lists
Three distinct difficulty modes
In Spring, focus on connecting symbols for multipliers. In Winter, prioritize marking off large clusters early, as the scoring rules become much stricter toward the end of the year.
Two dice are thrown to define the dimensions of a rectangle you must draw on the grid. Inside that area, you select a symbol to score based on the specific rules of the current season.
While primarily a solo experience, you can compete globally through highscore lists and achievements.
I’ve tried different roll and write apps, and I think this is my favorite one. It’s visually soothing, and it’s like having four games in one app because each of the four seasons plays differently. It does take a bit to get used to the UI, especially on a phone, but it’s easy once you get used to it. I haven’t experienced any bugs. I do wish the classic (basically solo) mode kept your score, but that’s not a huge deal. The other challenge modes do keep your score. I appreciate that the file size is small and that there are no ads or IAP. This developer always monetizes apps fairly, and I really appreciate that. I highly recommend this game.
