Birk's Adventure is a delightful throwback to the 8-bit era of action platformers. It captures that 'Game Boy Color' aesthetic perfectly with its chunky pixels and vibrant, limited color palette. The gameplay is straightforward but challenging, requiring precise jumps and well-timed attacks against a variety of charming enemies.
What I appreciated most was the tight level design. It doesn't rely on endless scrolling; instead, each screen feels like a carefully constructed challenge. The chiptune soundtrack is also a highlight, providing a catchy backdrop to the adventure. It’s a polished, nostalgic trip that doesn't overcomplicate things, making it a perfect pick for platformer purists.
Authentic 8-bit pixel art style
Challenging retro platforming
Vibrant chiptune music
Simple and responsive controls
Birk's jump height is pressure-sensitive. A light tap gives you a short hop, which is crucial for avoiding low-flying enemies without hitting ceiling spikes.
Most bosses follow a three-step pattern. Observe their movement for two cycles before attacking; usually, they are vulnerable for a few seconds after their 'big' move.
It features several worlds and is designed for a focused 2-3 hour experience, perfect for a single sitting or a flight.
Awesome rogue like game. Remind me of a rouge Zelda. You can tell hard work was put into the game. Very happy with purchase. Thanks to the Developers for this. Super fun game. I highly recommend anyone to buy it. If you haven’t better do it on sale to get it at a nice price. Even without a discount the game is worth a easy $7-$8. If you don’t own it in your game library on IOS you will definitely be happy. Thanks again to the developers.
Not beat it yet, but already impressed and really enjoying it. I wish there were more quality games like this. You can play at a slower pace and are free to explore. there are npcs to give hints or buy items. Nice setting and music. Minor quibble: no controller support. Though the touch controls do work pretty darn well.
If you want to play something like treasure adventure world or side scrolling Zelda of sorts, look no further. I completed this game in 4 hours, had quite a fun time. An open world with some dungeons to explore. Boss fights are way too easy and predictable. But overall, an awesome game.
I think I found this game by searching to see if a version of Zelda available. This is a pretty good action-adventure game that is at least good for one run-through, and probably many more.
Best money you’ll ever spend on a game . It’s easy to play and takes a long time to finish . Literally one of the best games I’ve ever bought. To the developer , it’s a shame there’s not sequels .
It is a small but great game. It is quite like Donut Games' another product, Traps n Gemstones. Actually I got nostalgic when replaying T n G. So the first time I played Birk's Adventure, I was thinking "it is highly likely I am going to miss this moment". Indeed, the game led me to endless aftertastes. The last key is so hard to find. I traced all possibilities until finding clues. I love Donut Games. Thanks for launching games continuously.
Love Donut Games! But I'm a bit frustrated here: just beat the game but didn't unlock 100%. There is no way to go back unless you reset all your progress :/ So don't use all the tablets until you have collected everything!
This game reminds me of the Wonder Boy and Monster Boy games. If you like puzzle-based action adventure platforming, then this might be something you'll like. Have a great day.

Donut Games is legendary around these parts, but they haven't been as active in releasing new games for the past several years.
