A Good Snowman Is Hard To Build is an adorable puzzle game about being a monster and building snowmen. In a series of beautiful, minimalist gardens, you must roll snowballs to create three-tiered snowmen. The catch? A snowball grows in size every time it rolls over a snowy tile. You must carefully plan your route to ensure you have a small, medium, and large snowball that can be stacked on top of each other. With its charming art style, relaxing soundtrack, and clever 'undo' mechanic, it’s a challenging but stress-free experience for puzzle lovers.

A Good Snowman is a masterclass in puzzle design. The premise is so simple—roll three balls of snow together to make a snowman—but the execution is brilliant. Because the snowballs grow as you roll them over snowy ground, every move you make changes the state of the board in a way that can both help and hinder you.
The atmosphere is incredibly cozy and heartwarming. Hugging the snowmen you've built is a lovely touch that makes the game feel personal. It starts out easy, but some of the later puzzles require some serious lateral thinking. It’s a quiet, beautiful, and deeply satisfying puzzle game that I recommend to everyone.

Tips & Walkthrough
Once you roll a snowball over a tile, the snow is gone. This is a vital mechanic—use 'cleared' tiles to move large snowballs without them growing any bigger. Strategic snow removal is just as important as the building itself.
Gameplays
Swipe to move your monster. Push snowballs to move them. If you push a smaller snowball onto a larger one, they stack. Build a snowman by stacking small on medium on large to clear the garden.

One of the best sokoban-style puzzle games
Fri Jul 17 2026 chessgodzillaThis game is from Draknek and friends, the group that did Sokobond and A Monster’s Expedition. Draknek games are pure puzzles (no coordination required, no time pressure), and this game in particular seems designed to provide an incredibly chill experience. This game’s mechanics are almost absurdly simple: you roll snowballs in order to build one or two snowmen per level. But “simple” doesn’t mean “easy”; some of the later levels are fiendishly tricky! There is something amazingly satisfying about creating a snowman which goes beyond the satisfaction you usually get in block-pushing games of this sort. Once you’ve finished the main campaign, there is an additional “dream-world” set of levels. My one criticism is that it’s easy to get lost trying to understand what you have to do in the dream levels. Basically, every snowman you made before becomes a single snowball in the dream levels, and you have to position three of these snowballs close to each other to create a new snowman. Now, when you move the snowball, it shrinks instead of expands. You also often have to redo the original levels of the non-dream world to position the snowmen closer to each other. If you get stuck, watch an online video to show you how everything works. This criticism aside, this is a beautiful game and a great introduction to the genre of sokoban-style block pushing games.

I didn’t even realize there were more “achievements” besides building all of the snowmen when I played this last year. I enjoyed the problem-solving brainwork involved with the initial level. Then to start again to build without leaving the “room”… Uff, I could almost hear the gears grinding. But then… to build the snowmen for the “dreamt” achievement… now THAT was a huge challenge. This has been a great five days of fun.
An exceptional Sokoban-style puzzler

Such a clever idea, I’ve rarely played puzzle games that feel like they have so many layers to them. It also manages to feel open-ended without being so open as to seem impossible (e.g. Corrypt).[/SPOILER] The perfect phone puzzler. One of thing I’ve noticed is that I have no sound or music. I would have muted it anyway, so no big deal for me, but it may be some kind of bug.

Sat Feb 25 2017 Me. Bilbo BagginsThe game involves every feature you can think of. The design is beautiful!! Also this is a great game to sit down and relax during the night. If you don't like very big puzzle games I would not recommend this gamers you, but if you love puzzles that are simple yet complex than this is perfect for you. I'm surprised this is actually this cheap being the game has numbers and numbers of puzzles! Now that I have completed the game I would so recommend this to anyone!!

I just gifted it to my bro as well. Ever thought of incorporating a level builder? It would be easy to implement, and would initiate organic sharing between your customers. Maybe then even add in a daily user created puzzle, to keep people coming back?
Beautiful Puzzle App
Sun Dec 18 2016 PeopleKnowThis is a beautiful puzzle app that is enjoyable to play. There are 5 achievements including a metapuzzle at the end that made the game doubly enjoyable. One complaint is that I wish the achievements were less cryptic. Overall, this game is definitely a recommend for those who enjoy puzzle apps.

Mon Feb 13 2017 AwesomecharleneThe game appears to be a really good game with all the good ratings. Decided to give it a go. Graphics are nice but does not balance out the gameplay. The controls are hard to get used to and I love puzzle games but I lost it on the second puzzle. A little boring. Reviews must have been made by developers themselves or something, because it's definitely not worth the five dollars I've paid. Was originally going to put 2 stars, but that's only if this game was free. (Good bye.. five dollars..)
