Zen Match is the most polished 'tile-matching' game on the market, successfully blending the logic of Mahjong with a modern, home-decorating twist. The central mechanic of moving tiles to a tray of seven is deceptively simple; it requires genuine foresight to ensure you don't fill your tray with unmatched items, which leads to an immediate loss. It’s a game of patience and spatial awareness.
What sets it apart from other match-3 titles is the atmosphere. The travel-themed backgrounds and the goal of decorating your own 'Zen Room' provide a consistent sense of progress. It manages to be challenging without being stressful, a difficult balance to strike. The daily puzzles and seasonal events keep the gameplay from feeling repetitive, making it an essential download for puzzle fans who want a more meditative experience.
Addictive Mahjong-inspired matching
Stunning 3D home decoration system
Calm and immersive ambient music
Daily brain training challenges
Never take a tile unless it results in a match or exposes a tile you need. Keeping at least three empty slots in your tray at all times is the most effective way to avoid a game-over during the complex mid-game layers.
Focus on completing a room set before starting the next. Finished rooms grant permanent 'Hint' and 'Undo' boosters that recharge every 24 hours, making the tougher levels much more manageable.
If you fill all 7 slots in your tray without making a match of three, you lose the level.
You know how you download like gardenscapes or something and it gives you an ad for an even dumber app and youre like “yeah i think im at a point in my life now where i Will download Fashion Run Hospital Burger Tycoon Lite” and then in 2 weeks youre like “what in gods name is this doing on my phone” well. Such was my situation some months ago and such were my expectations upon downloading this app but as god is my witness i will be playing Zen Match as my casket is lowered into the ground eighty years hence. This app was forged by the gods and delivered unto us as fire from prometheus himself if you are the type of person who routinely finds themselves shackled to a solitaire addiction as a means of escape then be prepared because you are never getting clean from this game every time you start it up it says something reminiscent of “i am good enough i am smart enough and doggone it people like me” and then the plinky plunky music starts up and from that point on there are no thoughts. All the universe is head empty. There is only the plinky plunky music and little sets of three ladybugs. And when you finish a puzzle it gives you these lotus things that you use to decorate these rooms and here is the genius of it: decorating the rooms is only like sorta fun, so you never get frustrated at your lack of lotus currency, but you still get excited when earning it. Honestly the apocalypse could happen and i would not even notice if i were playing zen match. I have never felt less. I celebrate zen match and sing zen match, and what it assumes you shall assume, for every atom belonging to it as good belongs to you
Not that I feel the developers will see or care, but… Okay, I get it, you create a game to make money. I don’t mind supporting that at all. I paid to have the ads removed. So far so good. I purchased coins and would purchase the bank as well on occasion. Again, fine. I enjoy the graphics. I didn’t suffer some of the crashes others experienced. The levels could be very hard at times but most were doable with maybe shuffling once, twice. Some levels required more. It was fine because the Fortune Path would increase every 3 levels and so by the time i got to level 12 on the Fortune Path, i was earning 120 coins. All was well until I finally made it to level 1000 and suddenly the Fortune Path is now going no higher than 20 COINS!! What the crap? The levels become more challenging and you answer that by decreasing rewards??? I’m shuffling 3 times a level sometimes, maybe more. My coins are dwindling fast. I’m at level 15 on the path and it hasn’t changed from 20 coins. Instead of increments of 20, 45, 90, 120, it’s 10, 15, and 20 only. I hope this is a glitch because honestly this is a huge dealbreaker. I don’t mind supporting the game, but don’t start screwing over people. I believe the payment to remove ads is yearly and I assure you, I’ve enjoyed the game so far but I will not subscribe to another year or throw another dime into this game if this is how it’s going to be. I will remove it. Frustrating. 5 stars for the graphics and entertainment- minus 2 for money hogging.
First off, the word Marvelous is spelled wrong in your app. You might want to fix that. It’s disturbing to see it pop up at the end of a very hard level and see it spelled as “Marvellous”. Second, I too am frustrated at downloading apps based on the ad that then is NOTHING like the ad when you get to the game (I have seen other reviews mention this on this game and other games). I realize that you might have to get through a few levels in some games to get to the part where the game is like the ad that you saw that made you want to download it, but I have been working on this game for several months now and I’m on level 275 and still no where NEAR the ad that I followed to get this game. However, I am still enjoying the game even though I was completely misled into downloading it. No, I have not spent any money. If I can not complete a level without using the ridiculous amount of gold required for a redo or to get another chance, then I lose the life and wait for it to respawn. I’m not that impatient to play the game that I am going to spend money on it. That being said, I do wish lives did not take so long to refresh. It is the developers way of trying to get you to spend money. You only have 5 lives and the levels are incredibly hard to win without using any of the “help” that costs gold. I challenge myself to never use the gold so I’m constantly waiting for my lives to come back as it takes me forever to finish a level. If you offered more than 10 gold pieces to finish a level or even brought back the option to watch an ad to get 30 gold pieces, that would have bumped you up to 5 starts.
TL/DR: Game is fun at lower levels, but the upper ones are in winnable and a waste of time playing. Lazy programming with too many tiles so matching 3 on some tries is impossible in the first moves. Find a game where success is at least possible without help. This game was fun for about the first 2000 levels. At the beginning, it is fairly easy but builds quickly. Then at somewhere between level 2000 to 2109, the puzzles are impossible. There is no combination of times you can choose that will allow to win unless you use one or more bonus “cheat” tiles. It just gets frustrating to go through 5 tries at a level in less than 10 minutes only to have to wait 2.5 hours to try again. Also, the amount to play on goes up from 60 to 90 coins which makes it even harder to keep playing. It’s to the point where it’s not worth the time and ads to play anymore. In addition, the ads for this game are misleading in that the puzzle they show in the ad is never available. The “tournament” and other “competitions” in the game are jokes because they have a time limit, but it takes days of play to get through one level let alone the multiple needed to succeed at the tournament. Too many extras that are just not needed. Make the upper levels challenging but winnable with out needing to use a scramble or the extra tile spaces rather than being lazy at putting random tiles of too many varieties in the puzzle.
I would really love if they would let me redesign the rooms I’ve done in the collection sections! I have a lot and sometimes I don’t have many blue things and they get higher in the amount you need per item at the level I’m at. HOWEVER I LOVE THIS GAME. I have made it to level 895. I don’t have money to spend on mobile games I spent 5 dollars when I first downloaded it and since the en just save coins when I’m on a winning streak. I see people saying they’re stuck and just quit, but I have been stuck for a few days and just took a break. Come back to it when it feels relaxing again. You’re not meant to play the game forever you’re supposed to chill and play and if you’re losing stop for a while. I wish the no ad’s wasn’t $6 I’d totally buy it if it was less or went on sale but I’ll just watch the ads at that point. It has helped when I’m feeling anxious and need a distraction sometimes. I wish I could design the rooms for less of the flowers it takes I wish it stayed at 2. It’s harder to beat levels this high and I really like the décor part of the game and I definitely have not been able to enjoy it as much as I would like to and was able to when I first played.
A really fun game at first. Can’t remember what level I deleted the game on but way over the 100th level. At first I enjoyed playing the game I didn’t make any app purchases at first. I simply waited until the live refilled which would take up to 30 minutes a life. I didn’t want to purchase to remove ads so I would exit app refresh and enter game again so I didn’t have to watch the ads. I noticed that once I completed this move the app would remove one of my life’s. I ignored it however I began to purchase coins for life’s. You need 400 coins to replenish 5 life’s. That’s an absurd amount noting the cheapest bundles only gives you about 175 or 200 coins. Once I started making purchases I noticed that the game became more difficult and with out the advantage of the help at bottom of screen shuffle 10 coins, back move 20 coins and remove 3 cards 60 coins, which you have to pay for in coins. This is expensive in coins. So I decided not to spend money on coins anymore which made it more difficult to pass levels. I had my final straw at losing a game and going to the are you sure you want to give up picture on your screen and seeing I had 15 seconds until my next life. So I exit that game just to get to the Home Screen and the app took my only life after the clock ended in 5 seconds. I don’t know if it was a glitch but I’m done. I deleted the app this game is not fun once you start making money purchases. It’s money trap.
I’m gonna be honest, this game is actually enjoyable and addicting-half the time. There are many, many flaws. There was another review that hit almost all the nails but missed a few. Firstly, the game is loaded with ads, which you have an option to pay $5.99 to get rid of for 6 months, not even permanently. Then with the coins; everything is dependent on coins. You want to go back a step? 20 coins. You want to keep playing a game you lost? 60 coins the first time, 90 coins the second, and so on. You only get 10 coins per game, and there’s an option to watch an ad to get an additional 20 coins, which eventually goes away after a certain level, I believe level 100. Then with the lives, and this is the flaw that irritates me the most: you have 5 lives when you start the game. If you want to start a level you automatically lose a life. Then if you lose that level you can either pay 60 coins and take a chance at losing the level again, or you can lose a life. It’s very easy to lose all your lives within the span of 1 hr (that’s how long it takes for them to refill to 5) because the game is randomly generated, so there are some levels that are simply impossible to beat. If the creators got rid of the lives concept this game would be 100% better. Also, theres an option to refill your lives with 200 coins before the 1 hr is up; that means 20 levels worth of coins would be washed down the drain simply because the levels were unsolvable. Just make the game better by tenfold by removing the stupid lives. Or make it so you can watch an ad to refill them, and bring back the 20 extra coin ad option!
This game is very fun and easy to get hooked on at first. But like many of the other reviews have said, you will eventually reach an impossibly-designed level where you can either take a chance and run through your five lives, or you’ll have to pay for extra coins. I don’t even mind taking the risk, but it does take an unusually long time for lives in this game to replenish, and it doesn’t offer any way to earn extra lives aside from mKing a purchase. Most other games have shorter replenish periods AND offer you the chance to watch ads to get more lives; I don’t get why this one doesn’t. As far as the coins go, I agree with others who think it is clear they want you to spend money. They’ve added several new ways to get boosts and extra coins since I started playing but each is a dead-end for those of us on higher levels. For example, you can now earn coins for decorating a room. Cool! Except A.) we can’t retroactively get all the coins we would have earned from rooms we already decorated, and B.) you have to spend lotuses to decorate each element of the room, but you only earn lotuses when you beat a level. So you start running out of lotuses trying to get more coins to beat an impossible level, then you run out of coins too because the level is impossible. It’s just too difficult for no reason after a point.
