We've been working hard to enhance your experience!
Our latest update includes bug fixes and updates to improve performance. We've made significant improvements to speed up load times and fix glitches or crashes you might have experienced.
We're constantly striving to improve Yahtzee® with Buddies, and we hope you enjoy the latest changes.
Yahtzee with Buddies takes the classic dice game we all know and turns it into a high-energy social experience. It’s exactly what you'd expect from a modern 'with buddies' game: lots of colorful menus, daily challenges, and a persistent sense of progression. The core gameplay is as solid as ever—rolling for full houses and large straights is still satisfying—but the addition of 'Dice Masters' and themed tournaments adds a nice layer of variety for solo players.
The social features are the real draw here. Playing against friends or random opponents is seamless, and the 'Yahtzee Survivor' mode, where you compete in real-time against hundreds of others, is a genuine thrill. While the game does lean heavily into 'freemium' elements like bonus rolls and custom dice skins, the basic experience remains fair and fun. It’s the kind of game that’s easy to pick up for five minutes but has enough hooks to keep you coming back for months. It’s bright, loud, and social—the definitive way to play Yahtzee on your phone.
Official Hasbro Yahtzee license
Multiplayer matches and real-time tournaments
Solo 'Dice Masters' adventure mode
Social chat and buddies system
Extensive customization with themed dice and boards
When facing Dice Masters, use your 'Bonus Rolls' strategically. If you're one die away from a Yahtzee, it’s worth the roll to get the massive score boost needed to beat the higher-level AI opponents.
Roll five dice up to three times to make specific combinations like 3-of-a-kind, Full House, or the elusive Yahtzee. Strategically place your scores in the scorecard to maximize your total and outscore your opponent.
Yes, beyond classic Yahtzee, you can play variants like Solitaire, Bingo, and Stars for a unique challenge.
The game is truly lots of fun. Nevertheless, I joined a Family in this game and 1 of the major reason why I am still playing is them. Our family, and myself, are really fed up with the constant changes, receiving less bonus rolls, and the feeling that one „has to buy“ dice, packs, etc…to move forward. The treasure hunt is fun to play; yet more than 1/2 of my family stopped playing, because even though one can earn bonus rolls, etc…after most steps and stages; these will be lost far quicker than earning them. When some of my family members and myself made it to the „Infinity“ stage we were so excited to reach „the end“, which is not. We thought we would earn a big reward to be able to reach this stage and that the rewards after each 5 steps would be better than the regular stages, but they are not!! Also, I have lost so many bonus rolls and even other gifts that I either purchased or won, but yet lost because the game „froze“. This happens not only to me and far too often. When I do contact customer support it takes far too long to get a reply and most replies are standard, like automated…meaning that there is no personal/individual support. I sincerely do not feel valued as a „customer“…It just seems Scopely main focus is to earn lots and lots of money and lost their gamers connection, if there ever was one. Businesses can make money without dismissing their customer/players need and required support. Unfortunately, we lost 30% of our family members, because they switched to another game and away from Scopely. Why? Because of the reasons I shared above.
I have been playing Yahtzee for years now and I absolutely love it. The new Yahtzee has a lot of extras that make it even more fun, with new dice & frames and the speed of the games are really great. However the different towers, showdowns or even tournaments are so difficult now. They used to be my favorite thing to play and now I don’t even try that much because I know that no matter how good my score is it won’t be enough. If you’re playing against a tower and you are down to your last couple of turns and still haven’t achieved the score to earn your bonus 35 points, you will not get it. There have been times when I’ve rolled 4 times to try to achieve the points needed to get the bonus points and the dice rolled exactly the same thing all 4 times. I couldn’t do that in real life dice rolling if my life depended on it! Also the weekly points used to be a goal for me, and it was fun to make it to the top. But now I don’t even care about it, because they’ve set the total so high you can’t achieve it (and let me add I play ALL the TIME), that coupled with its very difficult to win other towers or showdowns, it’s crazy hard to achieve the total points goal of 32,000 points. I have over 100 dice and all kinds of frames, so clearly I love playing this game, and the new version is really interactive and fun. You’ve just made it too difficult for the extras and therefore I loose interest in those parts and those used to be the best. Avid Yahtzee player!
Very fun, wide variety of games in this game besides Yahtzee. No ads unless you choose to watch one for extra dice. This is a really fun game, I really like it and spend more time than I should playing it, none of these issues are worth uninstalling the game for me, I am reporting things that could be improved for the developers. A couple suggestions, as I never pay for games so don’t want to say complaints: (1) when playing against a friend it does not update as the other person plays, requiring you to back out of the round and refresh and rejoin the round to see if they played yet (2) when introducing a new game it sometimes freezes before you get to try with the free try, so you have to force stop the game and when you open the game it acts like you already spent your free try so if you don’t have enough points you don’t get to check out the game because some of the games use different points to play. (3) I would include some way to “poke” or say “hey, I took my turn, did you want to continue this game or start over or should I move on” without having to message the person. I don’t really want to be messaging strangers but I think especially without the game automatically updating that the opponent has taken their turn if isn’t apparent that your opponent is still playing (see #1) (4) the game shows as some people being online when they actually aren’t, I know because I played with someone I know and they were not actually actively playing the game. So when you challenge someone they’re not actually playing so you have 10 games cued up and no one you’ve challenged is even playing. Thanks! Great game over all.
I am a solo player and wish there were more ways for solo players to earn rewards. I pay $8 per month to get rid of the ads and while I thought that was a bit much at first it’s my choice to spend the money so no major complaints there. However, even with paying that I still have yet to get all the rewards from prize pass gold. I never have made it to the end. I can never earn enough diamonds. Same with Adventure. I never earn enough coins to get the frame or dice so I quit selecting those. Survivor is fun but impossible to win unless you spend extra money to buy hundreds of dice for bonus rolls to stay in the game. I have made it to the final round a handful of times and never won. Closest I came was 2nd place in the 300 player game and you know what I got? 10 measly dice. The winner gets over 100 dice. Could they give a little more for the 2nd and 3rd place winners at least in the 300 player survivor????. I like prize climb because solo players can earn rewards there. Prize climb bowling, however, needs to be changed. I get making it it more challenging as you get closer to the end but I literally had a game where my score was ZERO. And that was using bonus rolls on every turn and I still couldnt even roll a simple 3 of a kind or two pair. I had gutter balls on every roll! Cmon Yahtzee! They really need to make some changes if they want people to continue to play and make it a little easier for solo players to earn rewards!
This is my second review. I love the game because it is the closest one to the real thing. Only have a few issues. I’ve been playing for a long time and I usually play against many players. First peeve, I don’t like having to start the league play over from the beginning! Some people play for fun, but also like to advance also! Why don’t you let us add on to our league points so we can eventually move up? I have come close many times, but I also have a life, as I’m sure others do too! Second peeve, you offer free family games, yet sometimes I go there and they aren’t free, I either have to use a few bonus rolls or something else, and those bonus rolls are hard to come by! I know, they seem petty, but to a hardcore player who loves the game, sometimes all the extra stuff does get in the way! But I will keep playing, because the game is fun and the players are too! If you could just tweak the game a little, I think it would be better! Still absolutely LOVE Yahtzee but absolutely HATE the new format! I am now playing the same person 12 times because so hard to find players I am playing and new players! Don’t understand why you just can’t have a simple format that is easy to understand without all the bells and whistles…it’s a simple game, leave it at that!
This is a fun spin on a classic game. It’s rigged to some point because some levels can be harder than others also, they do give you a chance to roll more than the classic 3 rolls by winning or buying extra rolls- this tells you that to some degree, it’s not true chance. Also, there are a lot of glitches in the game. Prize notifications are not correct. ( I’ve been playing this at least a month and rarely are they correct. It will say you have a certain amount of coins or whatever and you really won’t. The game will tell you you won something but the total is not updated so essentially, you lost what you just won. The main complaint I have about the structure of the game is more often than not you are earning experience points for a prize of -more experience points-??? It’s just stupid. Also, when a prize like a scratch ticket tells you that you can win up to 50 bonus rolls, why make 200 bonus rolls even an option on the ticket. (But more often than not you will just win more experience points…) The amount of ads has increased since I started playing. The worst part is that you’ll roll once and before you can select your dice, bam! Ad pops up, and if you don’t pay attention, you hit the roll button after the ad, losing a roll. Ads are glitchy and long. Sometimes the game freezes up during an ad and you have to restart the ap. On a positive note, the game does save progress so you can go back in and play from where you left off. All in all the game is fun. Lots of people play and even though there is a chat feature for those who like to chat, most players are not offended if you don’t use it.
With this app, you have two options for gameplay. You can play one turn at a time with strangers, which can be a very time-consuming endeavor. If you want to play a game by yourself (against the computer) you have the second option of engaging in the adventure modes. This is the typical profitable app model that uses timer countdown limits (e.g. once you play one game, you must wait three hours until you can play again) that encourage the user to utilize in-app purchases to buy local currencies. While I’m not the biggest fan of this model, I understand that it’s very prevalent and I’ve become accustomed to being patient and looking forward to it. What is the biggest disappointment is that many of the games are clearly fixed (in order to gain any significant advantage you would likely need to utilize further in-app purchases). I am obtaining my master’s degree in statistics and the probability of some of these outcomes happening repeatedly and as constantly as they do is so remote that it has just become so discouraging. If you’re looking to play Yahtzee, don’t get this app. The design is nice and the gameplay is superb, but unless you’re looking for an app that you mindlessly check on every few hours or if you don’t mind spending your actual money on this game, then go ahead and try it. I had been really underwhelmed with the game that I had deleted it. After having recently re-downloaded it, I will soon be deleting it again.
I agree with previous review about the remote chances of outcomes. You can be winning against the computer the entire game and almost every time the computer will have a Yahtzee within the last 3 rolls. I too have played this game on and off throughout the years and rarely get Yahtzee’s much less multiple ones per game!! I have become very frustrated with the newer app updates...the app frequently freezes and the only way to unlock it is to reboot your phone. Having 30-40 games going at any given time, it’s a real pain to have to power your phone off sometimes 2-3 times in a short time frame!! Forget beating the computer on the Showdowns! It’s very rare!!! Then if you don’t use something you will likely lose it!! This was the first upsetting thing with the newer updates! I had saved my coins (that are very tough to win to begin with) to purchase dice because I didn’t like the ones currently offered (which was the different countries, but I never saw the USA flag). They brought out women’s shoe dice next as “shoe dazzle” which I wasn’t thrilled about either, but upon looking to possibly buy one when they came out my coins were back to zero, wiped out!! That sucked. Of course like the previous reviewer mentioned if I wanted to pay real cash on in app purchases I could buy more coins, no thanks! The old version used to let you “pick” your dice from a selection with your coins which I liked much better than the randomness. App needs better updates to address these issues!
