Tynker Junior is an exceptional educational tool that manages to teach complex computer science concepts without using a single word of text. For children aged 4-7, it turns logic and sequencing into a vibrant, interactive playground. By using icon-based blocks, kids learn how to move characters, trigger actions, and even create loops, all through intuitive visual cues. It’s essentially a puzzle game that secretly builds the foundation for future STEM success.
What I appreciate most is the 'word-free' design. It removes the barrier of reading, allowing pre-readers to feel a sense of mastery and independence. The adventures, featuring puppies and robots, are genuinely engaging and provide immediate visual feedback, which is crucial for maintaining a young child's attention. The progression is gentle but meaningful, and the voice-overs provide just enough encouragement. It’s a rare example of 'screen time' that feels genuinely productive and high-quality.

Drag the directional arrow icons into the code tray. Press the play button to watch your character follow the commands to reach the target.
In later levels, players use 'repeat' blocks to simplify their code. This introduces the concept of efficiency in programming through visual repetition.
No, the app is designed with a word-free interface specifically for pre-readers.
Hi runs are not a problem at the T I will see if they can come in tomorrow and see you guys and I can take you out for dinner or whatever I can take the boys out for dinner if they can get you out there I will take them to school tomorrow and I can
Cute characters and lovely graphics disguise surprisingly complex coding concepts. Must admit I sat and played through all the levels before the kiddos even got their hands on it! Love that blocks are provided so no guessing or searching. Seems like the perfect level of difficulty for kindergarten ages.
Ciasimmer was the late afternoon for the day to come to my house game I am a bit of fun but it is a fun little bit fun but fun to be around fun to game and I play for fun but it has a bit more to do but it has to run a little more game to run game over the next few
I thought since I signed up for a monthly subscription I would continue to advance through the levels and games once I finished. Instead it told me I had to go to the website and PAY again for further games and lessons. That version won’t even work on my iPhone so what’s the point of keeping it. Glad I tested it first.
This app is a great introduction to coding and getting kids excited about coding! My only frustration is that the Tynker app cannot be accessed through the iPhone, only the junior version. Also, I purchased a lifetime subscription but I had trouble getting into parts of the app and the support has been slow and highly ineffective. You need to work on your customer success approach.
I think it’s really good for little kids and they are not hard
My sister cannot stop playing it
So I can’t delete my project then I need to remove all the blocks so I can start over?
