1.24: Optimized and updated for iOS 13.
1.24.1: Fixed crash-on-load on some devices.
UPDATE: You have made so many happy. Thank you for updating the BEST iOS game EVER made. Now, I can finally update to iOS 11.4! ————————————————— This is the best game I have ever played and it's preventing me from updating my iOS devices to iOS 11. You should update it for those who have purchased it and still prefer it to TM2. Are you really abandoning us? Update to 64 bit and charge us again if you must. Heck, you can even include new courses if you have a guilty conscience over abandoning your customers. You guys got it right the first time and got many of us hooked. You're also responsible for the pain we're suffering going without. For the love of mankind, help us out and relieve our pain!
Although the game hasn’t been updated in a long while, and some kids may think this “old” game is irrelevant, My Papa used to play this game all the time, he had beaten nearly every level before he passed without a single in-app purchase! Although he played the free version, that being Zero, he still got me into this amazing game, and I had the great honor of notifying him of the second game, which he quickly surpassed me in of course.. I greatly miss him and all the amazing memories I’ve had with him, including the ones where we played these awesome games together, thank you devs for making a great game, and thank you Papa for being who you were! 🩵
This, the original Tower Madness, was not only the best tower defense game I’ve ever played but it was also one of the best mobile games ever and — dare I say it — just one of the best games period. When Limbic let it lapse in favor of the greatly inferior TowerMadness 2, I joined the mass of heartbroken fans who deleted the no longer supported original having already deleted the sequel in disappointment. I just noticed today that Limbic caves in to fan demands and updated this game and I am stoked to download and play it again! I hope it will let me restore all my old map pack purchases and the flamethrower!
Update 2: even more thrilled to find that after I uninstalled & reinstalled the game it works! My 5 star review stands. Update: was thrilled to see Limbic updated the game to run under the new IOS!! I downloaded the upgrade but sadly it still won’t run. The splash pops briefly then the app closes without error. IPhone 7, current IOS. One of my all time favorite games. Can no longer play as it fails to open after the upgrade to IOS 11, so 1 star. Would rate 5 stars if compatibility issue was fixed.
First off, 5 stars because I’ve loved this game for years and I’m so happy it got updated to be playable again. That said, since updating I am unable to start the game without it crashing. The “logging into game center” text appears with the loading wheel, then the screen goes black and it crashes. Game center connects fine on other apps, so I don’t think that’s the issue. I’m on iPhone 5 if it matters, but the app store says there shouldn’t be any compatibility issue.
This game is so much better than tm2. I am so glad they updated. One of the few games that is enjoyable that doesn’t require network connection. I will buy every map you guys put out to support this game. Update for 2019. I would pay for more maps if I could. One of the few great games that doesn’t require and always on connection. Still play it to this day and happy to continue to pay to support.
I got this game back when I first had my iPod touch. So, I've had this game for over 5 years. I play it when I'm waiting at a restaurant or a store. It kills time and it's still fun. I usually just play the standard maps, but every now and then I'll play the more complex ones. I haven't bought any in game things and I'm still enjoying the game. It was like $2.99 I think when I first bought it but it's still worth it.
I love the game play. It’s retro and the graphics are fun as well. The biggest problem I have with this game is that it’s just too hard. I am stuck on “mini” - it seems impossible. I have purchased 2 additional add-ons for 2 bucks each and they don’t do any good. The flame thrower costs 2 dollars but then it costs 300 coins to purchase in the game. Way too much. And the land mines, you can’t even put them in the path of the aliens. You have to use up a limited slot. Why do you have to make the game impossible to beat, even when you pay for add-one?
