Torchlight Infinite is a powerhouse of an ARPG on mobile. It successfully captures the 'loot-driven' soul of the Torchlight franchise while building a system that is incredibly deep for theory-crafters. The standout feature here is the freedom of skill customization; you can modify your core abilities with various 'support' skills to completely change how they function.
Unlike many mobile ARPGs, there is no 'Auto-play' here. You actually have to play the game, dodge boss mechanics, and manage your cooldowns. The seasonal model keeps things fresh with new mechanics and loot to chase. It’s a fast, flashy, and rewarding experience that rivals 'Diablo Immortal' in quality but offers a much more flexible approach to character building. It’s a must-play for fans of the genre.
True ARPG experience—no auto-combat
Infinite character build combinations
High-speed, fluid combat and effects
Robust seasonal content updates
Legendary loot and trade system
Don't just stick to the basics. Use support slots to add elemental damage, increase area of effect, or even trigger other skills automatically. Experimenting with skill combinations is key to clearing high-level content.
Legendary items are game-changers. Many have unique 'affixes' that can fundamentally alter your playstyle. Always check your loot before vendoring; a single rare drop can make a niche build viable.
Yes, Torchlight Infinite features cooperative play for dungeons and challenging endgame content.
Okay so I have played torchlight and torchlight 2 and I enjoyed them, as for this torchlight it's a love-hate relationship because I love the art style, the playstyle, the builds, and the characters but please add controller support and better tutorials because I've played to end game but still not sure on some of the mechanics of the game. I did show my support and bought the season pass but 15$ to 20$ for a season pass is quite steep I loved the game so much tho it was well worth it also please add more side quests and elements to the maps because they just seem a bit bland. I look forward to future updates and hope for controller support also please add some kind of multiplayer play say for like epic bosses but make it an option because I do love playing solo but at times it would have been fun to play with another player. I give 4 out of 5 because I know this is a new game that just came out, keep up the good work! As for the hate part, I hate that I got to end the game pretty quick because I didn't want the ride to the end and end gameplay is quite limited to playing since it has a like stamina feature please don't limit us to playing!
I’m more used to playing PC games I played the first and second Torchlight those were really good especially since there was a bit of a vacuum in the genre D3 was pretty bad initially. It took some getting used to playing a mobile game but after about I’d say a couple of hours it’s been pretty intuitive. I do think that there is a too much going on. I think I’m just a simple person. I guess I just like the original style of a ARPG’s having very few quests and just a basic talent tree maybe some points to put into stats. But this game they really automated a lot of that process and they allowed the option to skip cut scenes or explanations of things that I really just don’t care about. It would be nice if there was a basic fee for the game so that maybe some more funding could have gone to dialogue and quests. I’d rather have fewer cut scenes much fewer quests-just a short very well written story. The overall gameplay the pace. Combat and the ability to clear the stash without having to go back to town is about about as perfect as it can get in my opinion the characters are cool abilities and their animations are cool. I can’t believe it’s free to play I feel guilty I will buy something from the store just to support the game. I do see the point in making the game free. For someone like me who really hasn’t played mobile games it was pretty off putting for the initial hour that I played, it, took some getting used to but I’m glad I gave it a shot.
So I’m level 30 (out of 80 I think) on 3 different characters. I really enjoy the gameplay, the looks, the story. I enjoy them a lot. That being said, let me talk more about the negatives (and realize that I still gave it 4 stars so these aren’t game ruining). First of all, a lot of stuff isn’t explained well so I’m having to internet research and really figure a lot of stuff out on my own. Like what stats or gear a character should be wearing. How some things work together. Etc. Really there needs to be more comprehensive explanations of things. Second, I don’t like how the only gear that effects your appearance is your weapon/shield unless you purchase total appearance costumes. Gear should change how you look. My final complaint is that (I’m playing in English) the language feels a bit clunky. I have 3 kids and play with sound off so I read the dialogue and it feels like it was written by a non English speaker. Not enough to ruin it, just feels weird to me. Other than those things, I really like it and plan to keep playing for sure.
8/10 the progression system feels really good and this feels very similar to the games on console with its taste of massive multiplayer in it too. I think the world could use more work for immersion as every conversation starts and ends quickly and I don’t know much if anything about any characters in the game. However the boss fights are engaging for what it’s worth and I’m eager to see what else could come from the main installment of story and quests in the game. From my understanding the events are pretty straightforward, I think you guys should try to be more liberal with them and try engaging in cross over events like other app games do. Even if you’re crossing with something like Bravery Default they have a legacy and have been a phone game for a while and could lead to stronger avenues and cross overs in the future. It would also make me feel like spending real money on the game if the events held a little more weight/sparkle if you know what I mean. It shouldn’t make us stronger but it could be a lot cooler.
Forget D4. This game has a lot more to offer. If you have played PoE, then you can find many aspects of it in this game, only with stellar quality of life. The only Gacha in the game is the pets, and the ones that you get for FREE are actually extremely good. You can do all content easily wothout spending a dime, including STASH TABS. Yes you unlock stash tabs fairly easily in this game imo and for free as well. PoE is one if my favorite ARPG’s of all time, but to be honest, after all of the QoL that this game has, I’ve not played PoE in awhile because I’m too busy enjoying this one. The crafting in this game is also a lot more deterministic. It use to be kind of too easy to craft, but the new system they have in place is a lot better imo. If you don’t check out this free gameplay, then you are missing out on 100’s of hours of one of the best arpgs ever. I’ve played D2, D2R, D3, LE, PoE, D4 Beta, Titan Quest, Grim Dawn, etc. This is probably one of the best I’ve played tbh. God Bless Brevik boys, and God Bless the USA.
Resistances capped at 60%, was 100+ last season. Many defensive skills gone or super nerfed, many items nerfed, collection cards nerfed to useless & loss 45 cards from last season & no compensation. They won’t let you play your way, my favorite frostbite chain lighting nerfed into the ground lvl 95 worthless now. They want you to purchase their new seasonal toon. To craft a medium item cost 100FE (Flame Elemenium) top currency in game. These drop a lot in T7+ but in larger amounts in T8, but u will need about 10billion Dps & 60% resistance capped. I make about 10FE every 3days if I’m lucky. Started season with 800+ revival tokens down to last 125. Each season gets stupid nerfed making it impossible to see end game, bring back season 1 when it was fun now a dizzying hassle P2W dumpster fire. S5, still bad game; why, u can only see end game by going super fast & pay for season pass to get the loot bot cause if u try to play a slow cautious style u get mobbed & crushed. Top game currency drop rate is a joke again. Best stuff drops at T8 endgame, to survive it u need at least 25B Dps +60 resistances, the auction house items u need for your toon avg 2k FE. Each season gets worst.. have 50+ revival tokens left. If u don’t have any u loose about 5-12% progress…
If you like games like Path of Exile and Diablo 3 you will like this game. It is very similar to them, and also is very reminiscent of the borderland games in vibe and style. To boot it is also free to play and accessible on both mobile and computer To address anyone that may be wondering how the monetization is - it’s of my objective opinion very fair. I’ve not felt the need to buy anything, and have not been overly prodded to buy something while playing, this is with me approaching end game on my first character (T7 and level 88ish). All pets I have, have been purchased with free currency and to be honest have not made a huge notable different in game play. I will say I spent as good amount of money getting the cosemetics I wanted for my berserker (the costume specifically) as it’s on a chance system to get specific items which kind of bummed me out - would rather have paid 15 bucks the. Have to blow 50 to get through the entire “chance” system to get what I wanted but it is what it is, and this in no way impacts the game play. And the developers have to make money to keep giving us more in this game which I am happy to pay a bit in to get more! All in all this game is great and I can’t recommend it enough! If you took the time to read this far, thank you for giving my review a read!
Sadly, I like this game but have reached the point where I am fed up with one little thing. Well, it turned out not to be so little after all. The lack of controller support just kills this game or to put it more accurately gets you killed. Over and over again. My finger either slips or the iPad stops sensing my finger just long enough for that boss to kill me, while I cannot move. Even Diablo Immortal, your direct competition and worse rated game of all time, has controller support. Even they could realize how important it would be for a game like this and the simple fact, people do not like dying in games due to circumstances beyond their control. In this game you have no real control, when it is really needed. Thus, as much as I like the game, I will not be around long enough to support it because I am simply tired of dying due to a lack of control. If I ever find out you actually add controller support, I would come back and likely spend money. The real problem is, I probably will never find out. Good luck with your game!
