This meta-narrative masterpiece explores themes of choice, freedom, and the nature of storytelling itself. With thousands of branching paths and a sarcastic narrator, no two playthroughs are ever the same. The Ultra Deluxe edition adds significant new content, endings, and secrets to uncover.

Our Expert Score

95/100

The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe is more than a game; it's a conversation between the player and the developer. It’s hard to review without spoiling the surprises, but suffice it to say that the 'Ultra Deluxe' content is massive. It doesn't just add more endings; it comments on the very idea of a sequel and the expectations of fans. Kevan Brighting’s narration remains the gold standard for voice acting in games—his delivery is impeccable.

On mobile, the game runs beautifully. The simple interaction model works well with touch, though the real draw is the writing. It will make you laugh, make you think, and occasionally make you question your own sanity. Whether you've played the original or are new to Stanley's world, this is an essential experience that proves games can be both incredibly funny and deeply philosophical.

While it can be surreal and a bit lonely, it is primarily a dark comedy and exploration game, not a horror game.

So I first came in contact with this game while strolling through TikTok a few years ago… thought it was funny and looked to see if they had it on my console. They did so I grabbed it, was like $30-$40 at the time. I spent hours on this game going through the endings and redoing a lot of the ones I already did because they had different dialogue. When I saw this version release I immediately downloaded it. I played the free version of it which is basically the whole game… you get access to the whole thing, but youre limited to a certain number of endings. Once you reach the limit a new ending appears… and it is hilarious. The narrator has you watch a video and then go to… The PayWall… a literal wall with a huge dollar sign on it. Why am I telling yall this? Well, I bought it. I knew right away I would. $15 is usually a lot of money for a mobile game, sure… but for the graphics and how smooth this runs it is worth it. Ive already spent a couple hours on it. Here’s my only issue with it. So I usually have my screen locked so that when I am watching something or playing something it doesnt start flipping the screen around (say I am laying on my side and wanna watch something sideways on my screen). This game lets you play it both ways, but if your screen is locked it forces you to play it upright. If they could possibly fix this, I would definitely increase my rating. If youre unsure about this game… I would definitely play the free trial first. I feel it is worth it and definitely one of the funnest, and funniest, games Ive played in a long while

Great game, mobile port needs improvement

I have played The Stanley Parable since I was younger, it was one of the most best worst games I’ve ever played, but I feel as if this mobile port is missing a few things. For example, if you jump down the catwalk (iykyk) it doesn’t seem to have that narrator line saying “You guys were bragging about how you found this glitch on (social media app), yes good job” or something like that. You guys seem to deliberately remove it as the caption plays for it for a split second. Why? Can you not say (social media blue bird app) or be rude on a mobile game? Another problem, you can’t climb chairs. I don’t know if this is actually a bug or this “bug” is just exclusive to the free trial of The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe. It would really be of upmost importance if you to clarify on that. And, thank you. Not just for your service, but for taking the time to read my review. Also, that fee I have to pay is a real bummer. Please remove it and I will improve my review to 5 stars. Unless it’s new content?

Great game. Less than great mobile port.

Let me start this off by saying that I LOVE The Stanley Parable. I’ve been playing since its original launch on Steam in 2013, and I still play over ten years later. So naturally I was excited when I saw it on the App Store (for free no less). Was a little disappointed when I noticed that it wasn’t the full game, however for a game with a $25 price tag on PC, $15 for the full version of the mobile port isn’t bad at all. Plus, it runs amazingly for a mobile port. Unfortunately, the control scheme is unforgivably bad. Assuming you play in landscape orientation like a normal human, you get forward and backwards movement in the form of two buttons on the left side of the screen. Forwards and backwards only. No strafing. On the right side you get what looks like a joystick for controlling where you’re facing, however, this is not the case, it acts more like a trackpad on a laptop where instead of continuously rotating you, it moves your camera in the direction you drag until you reach the edge of the “joystick” and then you have to lift your finger and do it again. Also, upon touching the right side of the screen in any way, you will interact with whatever is in front of you. I do not know what the controls for jumping in the jump circle look like as I haven’t paid for the full game, and even if I did, I doubt I would have the will to play with this control scheme for long enough to reach it. I think this game would be a great way to kill some time on your phone if it adopted a control setup similar to Minecraft or Roblox or whatever. And also, maybe be upfront about the $15 paywall somewhere more noticeable than the “Information” section at the very bottom of the App Store page.

A mixbag that needs fixes.

Let’s be honest, I am in love with this port but there are glaring issues or things that I want in the future update. Here’s a couple of graphical and visual bugs I found: the bucket ending after unplugging the phone has a problem with the scroll text of the credits, let’s say that they stop in one point or get stuck while the normal ending’s scroll text ends abruptly; when you walk forward and back from the boss’s office door and finally arrived at the escape pod with the bucket there’s a graphical bug that flickers with black boxes on the ground - I have the photo of it but I can’t put in this review. Lastly and this is a preference that I wish for a future update: make an option to choose from performance mode or graphic mode, this means less anti-aliasing and better texture quality across the board; let’s be honest, our phones can handle better graphics, I know that it is possible to make this port look better! Now, I hope this helps with the feedback. Please don’t take it personally, I just want this app to be loved and appreciated more. Thank you and have a gorgeous day.

One of my all time favorites… In mobile form!

FYI: This game has a free trial where you can play a couple endings before you have to face a $15 paywall (or you can pay right away, but then how will you experience that sweet, sweet free-trial-ending new content?). But that’s cheaper than what I spent to get the game on Steam, and definitely cheaper than what my BF spent to order me the Collector’s Edition after a particularly bad day… I’m definitely the target demographic for this game, but I highly recommend playing it for yourself! You can now even get a taste of the actual game itself to decide if it’s right for you first (though the Demo for the 2013 edition has its own little spark too). I completed the entire game on PC besides the 10 year achievement (obviously), and from what I’ve played on this port so far, it seems to hold up. If you want to have your own Stanley Parable on the phone you’re carrying around all the time anyways, this is a great option. Don’t know how I’m gonna spend another Tuesday on this game, though…

From the ashes of depravity rises the pheonix of quality.

How else to describe The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe? Such a revolutionary step forward in the lineage of one of the most beloved video game properties of all time! The additions and changes made to this expansion will surely resonate in the annals of the history of all media ever made. It is perhaps true to say that no mistakes are forever etched in stone for the stone into which The Stanley Parable was carved has itself been transmuted offering a message of hope to those who have ever erred in their judgment. You are not beyond redemption. You may change, and you may become more, so much more than you were before. If there is any message to be taken from The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, it is this… what a fortune, a privilege, a joy it is to have had such an experience. It leaves me hopeful that as a community - as a world, there is time for us to become our greatest selves, as great as we ever could dream of in our wildest, most ambitious visions for a brighter future.

A regrettable decision

I purchased the Stanley parable last year on Nintendo switch only to now realize this year they’ve released the game again on mobile devices and honestly if it weren’t for the fact that this game had a free trial and then you have to pay $15 just to get the full game I would’ve stuck with this instead of getting to switch version. Then again, if people don’t have the money to pay for the full version on iOS or even want to pay for the full version, then you can just get the version on switch for a thrilling alternative that still gives you the full game.. in the end it’s your decision, not mine but for now I got to live with the fact that now I can get the standing parable twice even when I was considering getting it again for Playstation Note: you can also play a version of the Stanley parable off of rec room. Be advised it is a cheap copy and does not have any ultra deluxe content.

So expensive but really good

Devs and every one else read the hole thing please So I think that this is the best game ever it “ends” to soon for me there should be more endings not more platforms for the game to be available it should NOT be 15 bucks on mobile I don’t think there are much mobile game arhat are worth 15 bucks really anyone reading this should just get the full game on console for sure not mobile but whatever if you are a walking money bag then you need to get this game on mobile and console and pc really just get this game anywhere it is a really really really really really really really really… Good game so I would love to get this on mobile but for the money I got this game is not worth it so um I don’t really know what else to say please try this game on mobile for as long as you can and if you can buy it and play it on console and devs maybe if it is possible put this on Apple Arcade or make it less money please
