Bug fixes
The Construction Game is a digital adaptation of a niche 90s board game that offers a surprisingly deep look into the world of civil engineering and earthwork. It’s not just a 'Monopoly' clone; it’s a detailed business simulation where you bid on jobs and manage heavy machinery like excavators and dozers. For fans of the original physical board game, seeing it lovingly recreated on the iPad is a nostalgic treat.
While the presentation is a bit old-school, the gameplay loop of borrowing money, buying equipment, and trying to become the biggest contractor in the valley is very addictive. Some players might find the dice rolls frustratingly random, but that’s part of the 'high-stakes' nature of the construction business. It's a unique title that stands out by focusing on a specific industry with a lot of heart.
Digital recreation of the 1993 classic board game
Deep business simulation focused on heavy equipment
Bid on jobs and manage dozers, backhoes, and excavators
Challenging AI and strategy-based gameplay
Nostalgic graphics and sound effects
Success in the valley starts with equipment. Use your initial capital to buy essential gear like backhoes or scrapers. Keep an eye on the bidding opportunities—landing the right job at the right time is the difference between going bust and becoming the biggest contractor around.
The gameplay revolves around a Monopoly-style board but with a focus on industrial contracts. You'll navigate the board to land on job sites, manage operational costs, and compete with other players to dominate the local construction market.
Yes! It was developed in collaboration with the inventor of The Farming Game and uses a similar business gaming model adapted for construction.
The game is designed for iPad and iPhone, requiring iOS 5.1.1 or later to run the classic board simulation.
Redownloaded the game but it keeps saying the developer of the app needs to update it for the iOS on my phone, it needs to be updated an kept I shape
The Farming Game and the construction game are my absolute favorite board games. I was excited to find this electronic version and downloaded it immediately. I have enjoyed using it to a point. There is another review that criticizes the randomness of the dice rolls, and I do believe it’s right. I have found myself getting very frustrated when my player will circle the board 3 or 4 times in a row not once landing on a paying square, only to have the next few “income” rolls be a 1 or a 2 while the computer players are consistently landing on paying squares and rolling a 3 or more. This does work to sharpen personal strategy, but once you’ve played a few dozen games it takes all of the enjoyment out of playing anymore. Maybe instead of one random number generator for the whole game it could be rewritten with a random number generator for each player... just a thought.
I am the creator of this app. I've played The Farming Game and The Construction Game board games since I was about 10 years old. When I first got a tablet it was one of the first games I looked for, but I couldn’t find it. When I got started doing apps as an independent developer, I contacted the creators of the game and got permission to do the app for them. This game is a great classic and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Gr8 game that I've always wanted n so convenient on a phone. I only have one complaint to offer about this game and that is the way the computer can consistently roll high job payment numbers while a human player is lucky to roll anything above a 4 and rolling a six is almost nonexistent.
Bought this game for $2 a few minutes ago. The App Store page claims it is compatible with my device, but once it was downloaded my iOS claims that the developer needs to update the app to work with the current operating system version. I wasn’t really expecting much but it’s sad to know I can’t play my favorite ever board game on the road.
This is a fantastic game with tons of hours worth of fun. The only thing that could make it better is being able to play with other players online.
This game is amazing. I found this way of study guides that can take various forms programmer unfortunately it did not even pay attention to it, the way of the relatively poor is another place that in this case graphics eludes
I play the board game with family and play on my phone when I’m alone. But now my phone asked for an update
