We've squashed bugs and made behind-the-scenes improvements to bring Netflix members the best possible gameplay experience.
Storyteller is a pure delight that treats the player's intelligence with respect while providing a playground for the imagination. The premise is simple: you are given a title and a cast of characters, and you must arrange them in panels to create a story that matches that title. It feels like playing with a living comic book where the characters react dynamically to the situations you put them in.
What makes it an expert-level puzzle game is the hidden depth. While solving the basic prompt is fun, the real challenge lies in the 'sub-objectives' that require you to create specific, often hilariously dark, alternate outcomes. Seeing a character's reaction change from love to heartbreak just because you moved a gravetone into the previous panel is a testament to the game's intricate logic. It is a short experience, but every second is packed with 'aha!' moments and genuine charm.
Dynamic reactive animations
Wide variety of characters and settings
Charming storybook aesthetic
Challenging secret objectives
Characters in Storyteller remember what happened in previous panels. Use this to your advantage; for example, a character must see a murder in panel one to seek revenge in panel three.
Try creating stories that don't match the title. Many levels have secret stamps that are only awarded for 'wrong' but clever interpretations of the characters' personalities.
Yes! Many puzzles have several valid configurations that fulfill the title's requirement.

hi, it’s me again and I’m AAxel❤️. So basically I really love your game band and so and I really love your game and I know I sent a lot of interviews but I really love it. I always give us five star. It’s so good. I literally like your game is so literally good. I literally scream my mom, if my mom deletes it oh my God, I’m going to scream and cry. I’m literally going to cry if you do this game I will. I’m going to cry. I’m going to wine. Literally going to ask you over and over again to literally get it back because they literally love it I love it. I’m falling in love with it. I love your game, love everything so much and I think you should make it every time when you each a level like completed it gets dustier and dust and dust and dust until you get the last few levels like level 20 and level 30 and so it can be so dusty that’s gonna be very so hard to breathe so I think you should add a brief and a timer so you have to leave the level every time when you’re about to run off air because it’s gonna get too dusty and wrinkly and old and and I really love your game. Please add stuff. I really love your game. It’s so good like just love the graphics. I love it so much thank you if you read this I love you. I love your games that you make. I literally love your games and I literally love big games just you’re going tough on those games. I think you should add all this and I love the games and thank you for adding this. Bye-bye
This game is such a gem! It's a real shame that some reviews are panning this for being a Netflix exclusive game. It's almost impossible for indie developers to make a living creating quality games like this one without publisher support. I honestly can't believe I got to play a game this good for free with my Netflix subscription. This is an incredibly unique game, with excellent production values and solid execution. We've seen plenty of games where the story is sprinkled atop a puzzle core, but the entire game mechanic here is narrative -- solving plot tangles through a chain of story elements. The user chooses situations and characters to put into them over a comic-like panel layout. A prompt is given for what should be the outcome of the story. It invites experimentation seeing all the possible (mis)adventures I can get the characters into with what I'm given, and there are fun outcomes even when the resultant stories are not quite the solution to the puzzle. The feeling you get playing is as if you've been reading a fun, (often spicy) short story or fairy tale, or maybe making up your own. I haven't enjoyed a puzzle game this much in a long time! I don't write reviews often, but this was such a fantastic existence! Thank you for making this, devs, and thanks publishers for supporting them. P.S. to developer: Really minor UX thing was accidentally navigating away from the current story by clicking on corners because of where i hold the phone. But mainly: amazing work!!
Hello Netflix and Storyteller App Team, I hope this message finds you well. I’ve been an avid user of both your platforms and have experienced the magic each brings in their own way. I wanted to share some thoughts that could potentially elevate the storytelling experience for users like me. One aspect I find challenging is the inability to broadcast the Storyteller app content directly to my 85-inch TV via the Netflix app. As much as I enjoy reading Storyteller books on my mobile device, the screen size sometimes makes it difficult to fully immerse myself in the stories. Imagine the possibilities if the Storyteller app were compatible with television screens! The prospect of enjoying these captivating narratives on a larger canvas is not only exciting but also opens up a world of family entertainment. Picture family game nights where storytelling takes center stage on our televisions, sparking creativity and shared experiences. I believe integrating the Storyteller app with television screens through the Netflix platform could revolutionize how families engage with stories. It could enhance accessibility for readers who struggle with smaller screens and introduce an entirely new dimension to the app’s capabilities. The potential to connect storytelling to larger screens aligns with the essence of storytelling itself - sharing narratives in ways that captivate and bring people together. I truly believe this enhancement could amplify user engagement and create a novel way for families to interact with storytelling content. I’m enthusiastic about the idea and would love to see the convergence of Storyteller app content on TV screens through Netflix. It could transform the way we consume stories and create a richer, more immersive experience for users across different age groups. Thank you for considering this suggestion. I eagerly await the possibility of experiencing the magic of Storyteller app content on my television screen. Warm regards
PLEASE update this game and add new puzzles and levels, I’m begging you. This is genuinely one of the best mobile games I’ve ever played. It’s thought provoking and challenging, while also not being stressful or tedious. I recommend it to everyone I know, and I’m sure most people who have played this game do the same. I’m not trying to put pressure on you, but I think this app could really become a big deal! I think focusing on it and updating it with new levels would be beneficial to not only your players, but your company! Even if you have to make the new levels pay-to-play, just come out with new levels. You have some incredibly creative and intelligent people working on your team to design these puzzles, as well as talented artists. All that being said, this game was a lovely experience and I’m desperate for more! Bravo!
I love this game but it could use some different changes, like a free time level of some sort. I completed all of the levels yesterday and I thought about some ways to keep the game going. You could add one with all of the characters and settings in one whole level with the maximum amount of frames. This way all of the stamps and extra trophies could be collected easily. I have completed all of the levels yet not all of the stamps, and I wouldn’t prefer changing any of my previous stages or scrambling to find certain characters or backgrounds to use to collect the stamps. That is one for the freestyle idea, and the other would be a change between devil levels and regular ones, or adding all of the devil levels to regular ones with still changing in between them. Thank you that is all. Great game btw
Unique mechanic, cute style, clever writing (despite there being so little text), puzzles that don’t feel like they’re cheating or expecting you to read the designer’s mind… what’s not to love? More puzzles would be great. That’s not really a complaint–it’s hard to complain that we didn’t get enough value for $0 and a few seconds of download time–just a wish that there was more of this game. (Even being able to play the handful of user-designed levels for the custom-level mod for the Steam version.) The only minor quibble is that navigating around between stories is slow and kind of clunky. That doesn’t come up until after you’ve finished the main game, but it does start to get a little annoying when you’re doing the bonus content.
The game "Storyteller" is truly a hilarious and entertaining experience that will keep you hooked for hours. From its witty characters to its absurd scenarios, it never fails to bring a smile to your face. The game requires a certain level of intelligence and comprehension as it challenges you to come up with creative and unexpected plot twists. It helps improve your storytelling skills and trains your mind to think outside the box. The bookmarked feature allows you to easily pick up where you left off, making it convenient to play during study breaks or whenever you need a good laugh. Overall, "Storyteller" is a game that perfectly balances humor and intelligence, making it a must-play for any high school student looking for an enjoyable and mind-stimulating experience.
