Steppy Pants is a physics-based walking simulator that challenges players to walk as far as possible without stepping on sidewalk cracks or falling over. With simple one-touch controls, you determine the length of each step. The game features various environments like busy city streets, snowy paths, and even obstacle courses. Unlockable characters and hats add a layer of customization to the hilarious ragdoll physics.

Our Expert Score

82/100

Steppy Pants is the 'QWOP' of walking games, and it is glorious. It takes the most basic human function—walking down a sidewalk—and turns it into a high-stakes comedy of errors. The physics are intentionally clumsy, making every step a gamble. You’ll find yourself holding your breath as you try to avoid a crack in the pavement, only to explode in a ragdoll mess because you overextended your stride.

The art style is 'Crossy Road' adjacent but with a bit more grit and humor. The monetization is light, focusing on fun cosmetic hats and characters rather than blocking progress. It’s the perfect 'one more try' game that is equally fun to play and to watch someone else fail at.

Something weird just happened..
Mon Oct 18 2021 Guy Or Something

This game is pretty good, easy-ish, fun and slightly addictive however there are things I don’t like for one, when you roll the slot machine for accessory’s and you get a duplicate it doesn’t give you coins back a lot of the time, not sure if this is either purposefully or a glitch in the system but it’s not good either way since I mean it has a coin icon on it yet has nothing to do with coins, that’s really my only problem..but the strange thing that happened today was that when I went to play this morning I quickly noticed that the menu screen changed to the Steppy pants poster boy holding a phone on a couch with some Chinese or Japanese language in it (I can’t read other languages honestly) it also had a button prompt that said “start” so I pressed it and then it took me to this weird foreign language thing with what looked like a sign in of some sort with that whole email and password type thing, this is incredibly strange because one, I never switched my language and two, my region has always stayed the same..I wonder if I got hacked but either way it’s still strange I will be looking forward to a developers response anytime soon..

Great but a few problems.

To be honest, it’s a great game. Not TOO many ads to annoy me. The only problem is that a few things have been happening to me, Whenever I try and buy a prize with my 100 coins, my character stays stuck in the blue and purple screen, so I end up wasting coins for honestly no reason. Then again, I highly doubt that it’s my internet. Overall great game! :) Update: Okay, now I’m beginning to get annoyed with the game. I’m not sure if it’s only happening to me, but the game continues to make me waste my coins for no reason; the first two times that it happened I was patient, thinking it was a glitch with the game. But now it’s freezing on a different screen. When I buy something it flings me (supposedly what I’m supposed to get) but it ends up barely ‘flinging’ me and I just end up on the side walk and that’s where the game freezes. Other than that, the game is really laggy. 60% of the reason I die is because I’m trash and the other 40% is from Lag. I didn’t mind the Lag and the game freezing at first but now it’s annoying. If you don’t have patience I don’t recommend this game (especially if you get triggered by lag and things similar)but it is a fun game to play when you’re bored and have nothing to do. I can also tell, from reading other reviews, that I am not the only person who has had problems with lag. Maybe it’s just me with the game freezing up 🤷‍♀️

Amazingly Fun, But With Some Issues

To start off this game throws you on the sidewalk, dodging cracks and tnt as you try to stumble your way to the next checkpoint. This game has a very similar progression style of crossy road, collect 100 coins get a loot box. Now while i do have my problems with how this system is set up, like how it can sometimes rely on you watching ads for the last 20 coins you need (which of course is optional) a good thing this game does different is it has challenges to earn more coins and every checkpoint you get to (about 15-25 steps) gives you coins. This game has multiple levels, the first being very bland and almost like a tutorial, the second (my favorite) is a don’t touch the lava type level which is much more challenging and i think it should’ve been the first level players got introduced to, it’s challenge with the volcanos and making you step on very small objects (like chairs for instance) make getting to the checkpoint feel like an accomplishment and a relief. I would like to talk about the other levels but I’d like for you to experience them on your own as they are just as good as the second (with some even being more challenging). The downside of this game is for the first couple tries the game can be so laggy you have nothing to do but fail, over and over and over until the game decides it’s the right time to load in. Also your foot can land on the edge of an object and be on it, but when you go to take the next step, you die (you can see this by looking at the red square below your foot when this happens) the worst thing about these problems is that they’re insanely common, but other than that, this game is a blast and i pray they make a sequel with more levels and progression (like menu challenges for coins and a leveling system). Other than that this game is great fun for all ages!

I love this game but...

I love playing this game but there’s 3 problems that I would like to be fixed. The first one is the fact that you have to tap the record button every single time that you want to record which for me is every time I play. I would like it if once you tapped on it that it would stay turned on or if there was an option to enable it within the settings of the game. The second problem is when the game plays certain ads the music and sound fx stop playing after the ad is over but the ads music still plays when another one comes up and the only way to fix it is to restart the app. And finally I would like it if there was a way to make a one time payment so that you don’t have ads anymore for the people that cant afford the weekly payments and it doesn’t mean that the weekly payment have to be thrown out all together because you could make it so that the one time payment JUST gets rid of the ads and not the premium features.

Great game, but suuuuper glitchy.

This game is so fun and addicting. It has a couple problems though. So when you first start the game, Mr. Steppy is missing from the screen, as are the objects you need to step on. Then, you can only see his legs. The first couple rounds, it lags and won’t load your tap in time and you end up dying and starting over. Once you get to the first ad, it stops doing it. Speaking of ads, you have to put your ringer on silent during the ads or else it’ll make all the music and sound effects stop working in the game. The ads will be normal, though. Sometimes, the ad will freeze on the screen and you have to restart the game. Oh and sometimes Mr. Steppy will glitch like crazy and he’ll start flailing around for no reason, looking like on of those inflatable dance people things at car dealerships. I tried to reach out using App Support, but it takes me to some website about gambling in China. If these glitches were fixed, I would absolutely rate it 5 stars though because I love this game a little more than I should.

Very refreshing and fun game!

I downloaded this game back 2 days ago without playing for a year, and oh man has it changed. And for the absolute better. I love how silly the characters look, the fun level design and concept, and... what? There’s an online 1v1 mode for WALKING DOWN THE STREET? Genius. Pure Genius. It’s also great that it has so many game modes, not intended for you to play all of them. I like Steppy streets and floor is lava, and I hate checkpoint thing, but that’s just my opinion. I am currently at 1.8k and my high score is 99 (so sad), and I can take the lag, it’s not even annoying. The ONLY thing this game needs to improve on, is handling a lot of stuff on the screen. If a car passes by the screen in steppy streets, I lose. If a holiday pack is on screen, I have a hard time moving. Maybe make them invulnerable to the player so they don’t make you lag as much. Otherwise this is an absolutely fantastic game that I will continue playing for a long time to come!

Brings back nostalgia but frustratingly unplayable
Tue Sep 18 2018 Sichaaaaa

I love the simplicity of the game and the whole theme! The song bring back nostalgic feelings of the kinds of music I heard playing Spyro in my ps1 and the whole premise of not stepping on cracks game brings a funny and positive light to a frustrating habit of mine that I can’t shake. But there’s one big problem: the lag. Some times I’ll tap twice with the same about of time but because of the lag it’ll end up stoping to short or too long and step on a crack. Sometimes it’ll lag so bad it pauses in the middle of a step and I have to keep my finger on the screen until it stops lagging only to find out that the game registered that I kept my finger on for too long and basically loses the game for me by giving my guy the splits. Sometimes it’ll lag right before I start a game and it’ll just instantly step down on the crack right in front of me and cost me a round. It gets worse the farther you go too! It was manageable at 800m, but now I’m at 1.5k and it lags nearly the whole time I play. Sometimes it even crashes.

Sound Problems

I really like this game, I’ve found this game since I was younger and playing it now gives me great memories. Although the ads (there is a fair amount, not too annoying) sometimes mess up the sound effects for the actual game itself. When an ad would be done playing, the sounds that are supposed to be coming from the game aren’t going in. Like the noise for when my character makes another step on the floor and the background music won’t play. It’s kind of bothersome because I like to hear the things play, it gives me more of a rhythm when I continuously step without breaking the sequence. To fix this, i’d have to close the game from my iPhone and relaunch it again. It’s annoying for me to have to do that every time. Please fix this developers! Thank you!
