Our Expert Score

84/100

Silent Abyss: Fate of Heroes is a deep and rewarding roguelike deck-builder that manages to stand out in a genre dominated by Slay the Spire clones. It introduces a unique 'dual hero' system that fundamentally changes how you think about card synergy. Managing two separate decks and health pools simultaneously adds a layer of tactical complexity that makes every encounter feel like a high-stakes chess match.

The dark fantasy art style is evocative and consistent, creating a somber atmosphere that matches the difficulty of the game. It is a challenging experience, but the meta-progression—unlocking new cards and artifacts for future runs—keeps the 'just one more try' loop feeling productive. For fans of strategic card games, this is a must-download for its innovative mechanics and polished execution.

Yes, it is a roguelike where a single failed run means you start over, but you keep unlocked cards and upgrades for your next attempt.

Highly recommended rogue-like game

As a big big fan of rogue-like games and card games, this game is like a magnetic to me. This game is challenging and fun. At first you might find it hard and couldn’t reach to the end—but this is normal! You are getting familiar with the strategies and leveling up (becoming more powerful) as you try over and over again. At last you will be filled with a sense of fulfillment once you defeat the biggest final boss at the hardest mode using just one hero. Every hero has unlimited potential. Once you understand their styles, you can build a deck that is almost perfect and then slaying monsters and bosses is just a piece of cake—but with a lot of joy!! This game is so underrated. I’m not sure why it can’t go viral like the Full Moon or some other similar games. I haven’t really looked into the issue but it seems that this game uses some pictures from other games (or the other way around; like I said, I haven’t done any research on that) All I know is that I saw some same pictures in another similar game. In two words, highly recommended!!

Excellence!!

In the same vein as Pixel Heroes or Darkest Dungeon, Silent Abyss is a rogue like card collecting team-based RPG. At first, the game seems very familiar with its useful upgrades, and rune system to enhance your action and defense cards, and let’s not forget all that- loot loot & more loot (in card form obviously). But Silent Abyss is clearly not the same as the aforementioned, because of the way it presents the gameplay. Upgrades are earned quickly and never seem to end but this is a much welcomed feature because it is a rogue like. Also, the dungeons are mapped in a way that allows you to choose which way to go..providing more options for strategy which could make or break you when reaching each dungeon’s boss. I highly recommend this game and would love to see more like it! Silent Abyss is a PREMIUM GAME..and only offers playable characters as IAPs. Buy, try it...or wish that you did...

A Stellar Hidden Gem

I took a chance and bought this game because of the raving reviews—and I’m glad that I did. The game is part fantasy card game and deckbuilding, part dungeon crawler and RPG (to those who know of it, it is in the same vein as games like Slay the Spire). So far, the gameplay is challenging but balanced, and there is plenty of depth and creativity in the way that different cards and decks can synergize. Couple this with the various items and modifiers that can be added either to the classes or to the cards themselves and you find yourself with all sorts of different possible playstyles. If you are familiar with these types of card games, then I definitely recommend it. If you are not, understand that it takes a bit to get in the rhythm (also, know that better cards are unlocked as your dungeon runs end and you gain experience). My only criticism, and warning, is that it is clear that the game comes from a foreign developer. The writing is not as well translated/localized as I would like but if you can put that aside as I did then you will find a very enjoyable game. *Note to developers: Consider finding or hiring someone to help with the localization. If there is a way for some of us to contribute, I would certainly consider lending a hand.

This game took me by surprise, synergy between characters is delightfully dynamic. You have two hands each drawing from its own deck and using its own mana pool, balancing attack and defense between enemy movements and the tactical options in your hand. I hope the devs will continue to grow and support this game, it is Gold. My only gripes are with some balancing issues and English Localization: Character back stories feel directly translated, in an entertaining way I’ll add. The names of the minions from the first boss and of the bomb you can summon into the enemy lane have not been localized. Other than that, this game is phenomenal, I am excited to see it grow.

Tiny suggestion

This game is great and i'm enjoying playing it, even when I feel the game is very unfair or hard. And I understand the balancing issues that this would generate, but every time my heroes lvl up I would appreciate an increase on HP, maybe +5 per lvl or something. Getting cards and accessories lvling up is great but I don't feel progression on my character just on me as a player as I become better and figure out which cards I want to use. 10/10 I would recommend please give me +5 hp every time my hero lvls up

Very surprised so far.

I’ve played every battle card game like this in the game store. I’m kind of obsessed with him and was shocked that I missed this one somehow. I’m still waiting for the other shoe to drop but so far it is proven to be one of the most innovative versions of this game Type that I have seen. Unless something changes it has an asked me for money or anything and he’s giving me a great game.

Fantastic remix on TGC games, move over Hearthstone

I rarely write a review, but when I do, it’s for great games. This is a masterful game that clearly demonstrates the crazy graphics or huge open worlds are not requirements for a fantastic game. Built upon a bedrock of creative game design and retro art style, this mobile game has been perfect for short and longer play sessions. I simply can’t recommend it enough, based on my own personal experience and enjoyment of the game.

Reckless effect is bugged

Great game. I’ve played so many hours. The Reckless modifier (purple environment effect) may be bugged. It reads “Whenever any hero play an Attack Card, discard 1 random card”. As written this should make attack cards cost 2 cards to play. The Assassin has a weapon card called Sleeve Arrow that fires an arrow after an attack card is played. This arrow also counts as an attack. Based on the card descriptions, I did not think this would happen.
