Could be better, but not bad

The algorithm is too predictable. You can always tell if it’s going to let you win or if the computer will win. With that, it also doesn’t really give a good, random shuffle. When it’s not going to have you win, your hand will be loaded with melds. It just needs to be less programmed and more random. I also wish the scoring was based on the points you lay down, not the points left in your opponent’s hand because it’s then less about strategy and all about going out first, which is boring.

Too many ads!
Sat Apr 12 2025 Anonymous72!

Don’t get this app. The volume of ads is ridiculously offensive. Most respectful brands want a good user experience and they put a frequency cap on the number of ads served. This app serves an ad after EVERY HAND. It’s obnoxious and clearly they don’t care about users and are going to the money grab from other apps paying through the nose for advertising. Addition to my original review: I work in advertising. I know how ads work. Yes, an X appears to close out the ad. However, it doesn’t appear until 15, 30, or 60 seconds. Not only that, but the click zone is so small that it opens the app store every time and then proceeds to show a static ad for 15-30 seconds. If you are selling your ad space on a CPM basis, are your customers aware of the duplicated reach? If you are selling the space on a CPC basis then I hope the BBB or FTC is aware of your fraud with your click zones. Obviously your clients are not aware of ad fatigue and the negative impact it has on user adoption rates. What kind of b.s. KPIs are you reporting on?!?! As a digital marketer who advises Fortune 50 clients to have ad lengths and frequency caps fit for the user experience, I would never EVER recommend your apps and in fact will be writing a POV at my workplace for client distribution to warn 1000+ brands of the unsavory practices. While I appreciate the revenue stream fueling your back end development, you’ve taken it too far and are an insult to the advertising industry.

Fun, But Definitely Rigged

Ok, so unlike this company’s Solitaire game which is rigged to make it impossible to win at times, this game is fairly balanced win/lose. The funny thing is the number of times I get beat because of “Rummy Bonuses” from my “opponent”. I just hit level 233 and in the time that I have been playing, I have had exactly one Rummy. Today I’ve been beaten by at least 5 rummies (two back-to-back in one game. and it’s often game after game. It’s not a skill thing, even though apparently play becomes more “challenging” the longer you play. That just means the cards are stacked against you so you lose more because as long as you pay attention, this game is luck of the draw. It also means the play becomes much slower because, especially toward the end of the game you’re left with draw after draw after draw before someone wins. I subscribed, so I’m paying for no ads, but I’d urge others to play for awhile before paying. You’ll win lots at first, but keep playing and you’ll see what I’m talking about. It is fun, but extremely frustrating. I’m ok with losing. I’m not ok when it’s the result of a play (rummy) only your opponent has access to.

What happened?

I play this game daily. I wouldn’t mind the ads if it weren’t for the fact that they follow every single round, uggh. And tonight I was winning a lot . An ad came on after a round and next thing I see is a black screen. The game is frozen or who knows what. Not only that. The AI is designed to torment. You will win here and there but it will give you the card you have been waiting for….right after you start discarding one of the high cards in your set. The needed card will show that very next turn after you discard, either from the other player’s throw off or from the draw pile. This card game is not random like it would be when playing with cards in person. I have dumped this game off of my phone twice and am going to do it again. The game is entertaining to a point but really a time waster. Good Luck!!!!! probably not.

Good game, has issues
Tue Jan 20 2026 Afterworld Cafe

It’s a fun, standard, more or less no-frills game. Unfortunately, it has a few issues. It randomly freezes during gameplay. It’s been happening on all of the Mobility Ware games I have (Spades, Crazy Eights, Cribbage, Castle). Sometimes it’s just a hiccup. Other times, it’s longer. The longest was about ten-fifteen seconds. Second, Rummy stopped working when I installed IOS 26. I came here looking for an update. There isn’t one. Probably just end up deleting it.

Rummy does not Always mean Rummy

Rummy is really fun and I enjoy playing, but the scoring seems inconsistent. Sometimes I clearly make Rummy with all valid sets (3 or more cards), but the game doesn’t announce it or award the 25 points. Instead, it randomly makes me “go out” once I’m down to a final card, even when my sets are complete. It doesn’t happen every time, which makes it frustrating and discouraging. I’d rate higher if the app consistently recognized Rummy and awarded the correct bonus points. Fix that bug and it would be 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟!!

You Want HOW MUCH?!?

*Edited in response to dev’s comments: Thanks for pointing out the obvious—that upgrading to an ad-free version is totally optional, and that I can simply put up with [excessive] ads if I want to continue to play for free. Since the dev missed the point, I’ll rephrase: A $25-$60 a year *subscription model* that never ends is an unreasonable ask for a card game app… of which there are dozens on the App Store. This app is OK. But it’s not worth $25-$60/year. Also, making your app nearly unplayable due to an *excessive* amount of ads in an attempt to drive players to the paid subscription version is a bum tactic. It’s not new. I think it’s absolutely crucial to support a dev with my money for the hard work and money they put into making a great app. But the price range has to be (a) affordable—within reach of the average user and (b) be worth the asking price.

DEFINITELY RIGGED!!
Sat Jun 07 2025 IndyJayBaye

Game is definitely rigged. Real players aren’t playing. I play and return days later to the same place in the game. Before I reached a certain level, bots were more yielding. After a certain level, I tested it. Every hand was in the favor of the “opposing player”, only allowing me to “win” after 6-8 hands...if that. Hands were always perfect for the other player. About to delete. What a fun app it would be if fair. Frustrating! TONS of ads, but at least they go by faster than other apps.
