Repulze is a blistering anti-gravity racer that feels like a spiritual successor to Wipeout or F-Zero. In a genre that often struggles with speed on mobile, Repulze delivers a sense of velocity that is genuinely thrilling. The game revolves around 'polarity' gates—red and green—where you must match your craft's color to the gate to gain a speed boost. This mechanic transforms every race into a high-stakes puzzle where a single missed gate can cost you the lead.
Graphically, the game is a standout, featuring sleek futuristic ship designs and neon-soaked tracks that blur past. The career mode is well-structured, pushing you to upgrade your ships to keep up with the increasingly aggressive AI. While the controls can take a moment to master, especially at higher speeds, the payoff of a perfect lap is immense. It’s a technical showcase for what mobile racing can be: fast, loud, and visually arresting.
Console-quality graphics
Innovative polarity boost mechanic
Customizable controls (Tilt/Touch)
Challenging AI and Leaderboards
Keep an eye on the color of your ship's energy. Passing through the matching gate gives you a boost; three in a row triggers 'Repulze' mode for maximum speed.
Prioritize upgrading handling first. As the game gets faster, the ability to weave between obstacles becomes more important than raw top speed.
Repulze focuses on a single-player career and time-trial leaderboards rather than real-time multiplayer.
This is a great game with 60fps gameplay. But in IOS 10 when i try to see achievements or leaderboards the game always crashes. I hope the developers update the game and fix this problem.
When this was first released, I absolutely loved the way it was presented. A time trial racing game with some incredible track designs, mechanics, graphics, and very tight controls. It was all about learning the tracks and besting your own, and your friends, times, while unlocking new vehicles and upgrades. Now, after multiple updates, the game is truley a gem. The first phase was the original base game. While they always said more content was coming, with the AppStore, that doesn't always happen. The second phase added more mechanics and the third added enemies and weapons, all while keeping the core 'beat the fastest time' drive behind it all. While some may have wanted another Wipeout clone but I was very happy that they stuck with the trails type gameplay. Repulze very quickly became (and has stayed) my favorite racer in the AppStore, trials or not, I'd choose it over NFS, over Sonic, over any Asphalt title, Real Racing, CSR... IMO, it is absolutely in the conversation for 'best of the best' racing game on the iOS. Pixelbite is almost always awesome, but they made a real gem here.
Its the closest the Wipeout Ive seen on iOS since AG Drive got pulled. Everything about the game is pretty great, except for one game mechanic: The Red and Green Polarity gates. Its an interesting idea for maybe one or two tracks, but for every track in order to gain boost, its annoying and takes away the point of games like Wipeout or Podracer, and thats to go fast. The polarity mechanic makes it feel more like an obstacle course, and not a course that takes skill and precision to get through. Fun for a few levels, but after a while I want something about speed and precision, and not hitting or avoiding gates.
I want to love this game like I do with this devs other titles but as far as playability on an iPhone 8 Plus on iOS 11, it’s not very good. The resolution is terrible and tapping is not calibrated. I have to tap just below what I actually want to select. Please fix soon!
A lot like racing down deep canal ditches in my old MagBounce 7 back home. But a lot safer, of course.
It needs some upgrading in order to be fully patible with Mac mini please and thank you
Give us controller
I enjoy the game but would love it more if it were online multiplayer
