English version released!
Knights of Grayfang is a love letter to the classic KEMCO-style JRPGs that many of us grew up with. It strikes a fantastic balance between nostalgia and modern mobile convenience. The core mechanic involves a unique 'Vampiric' twist where characters can utilize blood-based skills, adding a layer of risk-reward to the turn-based combat. You have to manage your resources carefully, deciding when to expend HP for a devastating attack.
The 2D pixel art is charming and evocative of the 16-bit era, but the character portraits and UI are crisp and modern. The story is a standard but engaging fantasy tale of rebellion and ancient lineages. What I really appreciated was the lack of forced grinding; the game respects your time while still offering enough depth in its equipment and skill systems to satisfy veterans. It’s a solid, high-quality RPG that proves there’s still plenty of life in traditional turn-based adventures.
Unique tactical Blood Skill battle system
Charming 16-bit retro pixel art
Engaging 20+ hour story campaign
Deep character customization and skill trees
Use Blood Skills sparingly during trash mobs. Save your HP for boss battles where you'll need the high-damage output to clear phases before the boss can heal.
Always keep a dedicated healer in your active party to counteract the HP-drain from your attackers' Blood Skills. Position your tank in the front row to draw aggression.
Yes, after the initial download, the entire campaign can be played without an internet connection.
Love the addition of the mini puzzles to the dungeons!!
