Prizefighters 2 is a love letter to the classic Punch-Out!! era of boxing games, but with a depth that exceeds its inspirations. The retro aesthetic is charming, yet the career mode is where the game truly shines. You aren't just fighting; you're managing a career that spans decades, dealing with the physical decline of your boxer as they age.
The addition of the Boxing Gym Manager and Promoter modes turns this into a full-on sports sim. You can scout talent, book tournaments for up to 64 fighters, and watch your league evolve over virtual years. It’s rare to find a mobile game that offers this much content for a one-time premium purchase. Whether you want to be the champion in the ring or the mastermind behind the scenes, Prizefighters 2 delivers.
Comprehensive Career Mode with aging mechanics
Boxing Gym Manager and Coach modes
Promoter mode with 64-fighter tournaments
Full customization of belts, gyms, and fighters
Between fights, use your time to train specific attributes like Power, Speed, and Stamina. Don't overtrain, as fatigue can lead to injury and faster aging in the long run.
As your fighter gets older, their attributes will naturally begin to decline. You must adapt your fighting style and choose your matches carefully to stay at the top of the rankings.
The Premium Edition removes ads and unlocks all management features.
I’ve played just about every type of game mode in this game and overall it’s great. It’s definitely worth spending time just playing this game. However it does have its flaws. First, it’s incredibly hard to actually make enough money in this game by just winning fights to stay afloat and not have to rest two weeks in a row or pay, with real money, to get more cash in game. I think a cool feature to fix this would be to add a free workout button which doesn’t lose you any attributes but doesn’t improve on any either. If that doesn’t sound any good, raising the purse for each win would be helpful. Secondly, as you progress further in any mode the addition of new young fighters essentially stops and every person in the division is basically 35 or older. It would be great to see new fighters every 3-5 years or so at the top of divisions. Other than those things I think this game is great and a lot of fun
Wow, there’s a lot to unpack here! First of all, I love the fight mechanic. The buttons and controls all operate smoothly and are translated into the game perfectly. The animation in game is nothing less than impeccable, from throwing a swift left hook to the sweat of my opponents face drifting off when they get hit. The game itself is somewhat reminiscent of the classic “Punch Out!!” From the 80’s (I love that game). The mode where you create the path of your own player and have to train, schedule fights, upgrade your gym and improve your ratings is so fun. I would absolutely recommend getting premium. It’s a great deal with a whole lot of stuff to do and for a low price! You get to add multiple custom fighters, change the fighting ring, change the league itself and it’s classes, and much more! This game has NO ads, which is honestly surprising. I’d almost recommend ads be put in the game, just so the developer gets more revenue. The best part is, if you have a bug or suggestion, the developer was kind enough to leave their discord server in the game so you can ask them anything! I had a couple suggestions and they were very kind and pleasant about it. Definitely the best 2D boxing game in the AppStore. It’s updated often, and the developer takes the suggestions to heart in order to make the game better for everyone. Would recommend this game to literally ANYONE.
so i really love this game! its nice to have a boxing game with a retro art style, the gameplay works perfectly with the presentation. i do have some nitpicks that keep me from giving 5 stars. i like the counterpunching and the power move system, but i feel like i the AI always used the same strategy in normal and hard difficulty. some opponents would hit harder than others which made it more challenging, but i would’ve liked if the opponents actually fought according to their archetypes. in my experience, the brawler, outfighter, and boxer puncher types all fought the same. maybe an update could change the AI slightly. also, i would love if the devs added more hair color options such as pink or green. i really feel like that could lead to more creative character creation. last thing, i bought the premium edition and i was really confused by the “be the promoter” mode; i feel like this may need more depth as all i could do was watch events happen without doing any matchmaking or interaction. other than that, i really did enjoy my time playing and i’ll probably end up giving the game 5 stars. thanks for making this game!
I was wondering around playstore to see what good games I could grind out on and saw prizefighter, didn’t think much of it until I started playing, yes it was hard due to how to hold the controls and everything but I figured it out and adapted to it, found out what main control I actually do need to press and how this game works, the dodging isn’t hard, just gotta know when they’re coming, once you got that down, then you could start winning and start playing better. I been playing for only 3 days and I’m doing really good, started my guy out at age 18 and lost 2 fights in my first 8 fights but got use to it and now I’m undefeated (28-2) now I’m age 24. Hold all titles and got my guy maxed out. It’s a really fun game and can’t wait to see what happens when I get past my prime, might keep going till age 100 or retire. Don’t listen to the comment that say, I can’t dodge, it’s too hard, it’s confusing. It’s not, it’s really easy.
Great game overall. Best boxing game for mobile out there. I think the gameplay is amazing, the fighter creation and simulation is very fun. But there are still a few recommendations or requests I have for this game. 1. More shorts customization. I understand this game is supposed to replicate an older style of video game, but if I am able to play in a newer year in the game, I’d want to be able to feel like i’m in that year. Nothing too complicated, but maybe you should be able to put stars on the shorts, or a name, etc. If anything id love if the iconic american shorts were in the game. 2. Different years have different auto generated players. I understand there could only be a certain amount of generated players, but anytime I make a new player it always starts with the same players even if it is in a year 30 years later. If I create a new player I want to go against different players. 3. Be able to choose how long the rounds are from the start. I like to have my games be as real as possible, and it sort of throws off the realism when your first few fights are only 3 rounds. If I could choose how many rounds I could play that would be much better. These are pretty much the only requests I have. Overall amazing game. One last thing i’d like to say, is I purchased the premium edition of the game a few months back around January, and I just re-downloaded the game not long ago, and many of the premium edition abilities were taken away. When I create a player, I cannot change his skill or what he starts as. There are also many other abilities I noticed I was not able to have that the game had taken away that I wish were still there.
The customization is great and the graphics are nice to look at, but the controls are absolutely horrible. The buttons are incredibly hard to push, half the time you miss them completely and the dodges are only based on luck, not timing or skill. If you could actually make it so we could see a jab or hit coming beforehand so that we could have a way to dodge it, that’d be great. But you don’t. Half the time you’re left tapping the dodge button 50 times so that you don’t get hit (but you still do). The stun time is too short as well. Your opponents eyes widen so that you know when to do a big hit, but by the time you process that you need to big hit them, they’ve already dodged it. So you’re better off by just spanning the dodge and jab randomly in hopes of maybe getting a good scorers decision when the match ends. There plenty more about the gameplay that is bad, but I’ve already wasted 10 minutes on this review that no one is going to read. This could be a good game, but the gameplay is easily some of the worst I’ve ever seen.
I have had this game for at least a good year and it’s a fun addictive game and it really brings the experience of you playing an old arcade game. The gameplay and mechanics and customization is on point. The only problem that I have is that it’s not really that hard of a game. Like I sucked at first but once I learned how to play and how to make a undefeated fighter then it was pretty easy and I always play on hard mode to make it more “harder of a game” and yet I don’t feel a real challenge. Here is what I recommend to the developers. Make a impossible mode and make the game a challenge and I would recommend a professional mode for people who want to have an experience that they are fighting the best fighters in the world. Besides all that it’s a really good game in my opinion and definitely deserves the 5 stars.
Really do love this game. I love the career mode. I love everything about it. Also love the gameplay as well. It is really good for a mobile game graphics is amazing. Love how you can go up and down in the weight class as well. That is really a great feature to have love the promotion of the fight in the training, and also I love the customization of you can change on your fighter. only thing I would change is I wish they had more built in each weight class so you can become undisputed then also, I wish they could add more like trunk styles and also have a go ring. Walk will also be good too, and I really would like that but overall it’s a great game I would highly recommend it if you’re looking for a good mobile game or if you’re just a boxing fan in general, this would be great for you!
