Papa's Paleteria To Go! brings the beloved restaurant management series to the seaside town of San Fresco. After Toby the Sea Lion steals your prize, you're left to run Papa Louie's latest shop! You'll need to master the art of crafting paletas: pouring purees into molds, chilling them in the deep freeze, and decorating them with dips and crumbles. The game features 12 separate holidays to unlock, 40 unique Special Recipes, and 90 colorful stickers to collect. Between shifts, you can even take your own Food Truck out to serve creative ice pop combinations in this deep and delightful simulation.

Our Expert Score

93/100

Papa's Paleteria To Go! is another home run from Flipline Studios. The transition from the classic 'Papas' time-management formula to the world of paletas and ice pops feels incredibly fresh. The new mechanics of filling molds, deep-freezing them, and then adding dips and drizzles are tactile and satisfying. What I've always loved about this series is the 'holiday' progression—as you play, the seasons in San Fresco change, and you get access to themed ingredients that keep the gameplay loop from ever feeling stale.

The inclusion of the Food Truck mode is a brilliant addition, allowing you to get creative and experiment with 'free play' combinations between days. The character customization is deeper than ever, and the 'Sticker' system provides a great secondary goal that rewards you with new outfits for your favorite customers. It’s a polished, relaxing, and surprisingly challenging game that handles multi-tasking perfectly. Whether you're a long-time fan of Papa Louie or a newcomer to the Paleteria, this is mobile gaming at its most charming and addictive.

Fun game and it’s easy

I say this one is one of my favs cause you get to make and popsicles. I know I read the reviews for people saying things about the topping section, but I think it’s just fine. When I aim for getting a perfect score on the toppings section, I get a point off for it being a “tiny” bit off, but sometimes I don’t even try to get a perfect score and they give me a perfect score anyway. It’s also kinda pointless to look at the score details if you get a 99 on the build cause it’s gonna say the same things: (topping(s)) was an angle off but I’m fully aware of why I got a 99 on the build but I’m ok with it cause I get a lot of perfects as well. I highly recommend this game if you love papa’s game and love popsicles 🍦🩷 Edit: the reason why the topping section is so strict about the angling is because this game is very simple and only features a few steps and the creators have to put the challenge somewhere or the only thing you'll be getting is 100% all the time. I mean it makes sense cause I expect all these games to have a challenge somewhere whether it be the build/topping stations (Paleteria, Pastaria, bakeria, etc.) or in the waiting (all the ones with bad graphics taco mia, freezeria, hot dog, and the cupcake one) I don’t expect to get 100% all the time on my orders but I expect the customers to be satisfied with their order.

Great Innovation!

It’s nice to see the Papa’s games continue to evolve with new ideas while still keeping the lovable gameplay loop. I will say the Paletta building is a little odd with how there’s not much room to multitask in what feels like a meaningful way, but it’s still fun! And while the free play isn’t something I mess with too much, I’m really happy the feature exists, especially to allow mixing and matching of different holiday ingridients. I think that something both the future games and future ports could benefit from is a challenge mode, maybe an endless mode of sorts, where you have to keep on playing until you get a bad score, being balanced with a closer every 7th guest. It could also allow for multiple if not all of the specials being in play, as they are fairly clear what is on them and that visual clarity means juggling multiple could be possible. I also think that the cast of customers could benefit from some disability rep. It would be really neat to a character in a wheelchair, prosthetic limbs, or even a walking cane.

Wonderful! (with a minor issue)

I love basically all Papa’s cooking games. They have become a core part of my personality. Papa’s Paleteria offers the same charm and feel as all others, but the newest features added (namely the food truck) along with the much smoother graphics and gameplay make this one of the best mobile cooking games on the market. That said, in the context of other Papa’s games, the Paleteria gets a bit lost in the sauce. I’ve noticed as the quality of the newest games increase, so too does the difficulty (especially my personal favorite, Papa’s Mocharia), with time management playing a big role in perfecting each order. In this game, however, there seems to be an abundance of time. Half of each game day is spent holding down the booster button. Because the game is so simple, it can be become really easy, really fast. Decreasing the amount of time between orders would greatly improve the experience, as instead of holding down a booster half the time, I could have more to do in a shorter amount of time—this keeps me interested! i realize i am above the age demographic for Papa’s cooking games now (I am a 19 year old college student), but all other Papa’s games have held my interest since elementary school. Paleteria would be no different as long as the pacing was tweaked. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope this helpful in some way. TLDR: great game, pacing issues

I Absolutely Love It! Thank You!

Thank you Matt and Tony for another amazing game, thank you for all the time, effort, money, and hard work you put into this. I greatly appreciate this game and all of the other games you guys have worked so hard to put out. You guys are truly my favorite mobile game franchise and I have loved these games since my childhood. I can’t thank you enough for keeping them going, for continuing to make new games and converting the old ones, they truly mean the world to me. No matter where it’s put out, I will always support you and these games to the best of my ability. You truly know how to make a game full of heart and comfort and I appreciate that more than I could ever really out into words. I hope there are more games for many years to come, but I will always have my patience as I know it takes time for you to make these fantastic games. So thank you so much, I hope you’re able to see this review/thank you letter.

I just realized this is the newest papa game, and I like trying out the papas games when they are released. So, i downloaded it. And yes, this is my (probably top 3) favorite papa game! I downloaded it today and I’m already at rank 4 and OBSESSED! Very fun and I really like how you get to tilt the popsicles to put frosting or drizzles on it. The different shapes are really cool too! I do love how you have food truck free play in here too, so you can just do it for fun and experiment with different types of popsicles. I love how in free play the timer goes SUPER fast so you don’t have to wait forever for your custom popsicle like you do in the actual game! Anyways i do strongly recommend for you to get this app, thanks for reading my review and i hope you have an awesome day! Byeeee 💫 - from a dear papa game reviewer/fan, thanks so much for your hard work flipline developers ❤️

Topping Angles
Thu Mar 28 2024 loonanottheworld

I for one can say I genuinely enjoy this game but, there is one very irritating thing about the game, toppings. When we have to had toppings it must be done at a very particular angle, which would be fine if the game wasn’t so strict about it. By this I mean that when I look at the customer reasons for why I’m not getting 100% on the toppings the reason is “The angle was a tiny bit off”. This is a bit odd considering the fact that I had to pay $200 of in game tips to get the topping guide but it doesn’t even work. I genuinely think that if it doesn’t work it shouldn’t even be a choice to buy it. I also think that it makes the game unnecessarily difficult and is something that should be looked into. Another reason that this is a concern of mine is that sometimes the angles I use work and sometimes they don’t. Basically the grading system is very inconsistent. This also makes the game a bit frustrating to play. I wish this would be worked on in the future because once that gets fixed I believe the game will be perfect.

Super fun, as all Papa’s games are! Just one little issue

I’ve been having a blast playing so far. Filling and freezing the paletas is so satisfying, and I love the free play food truck element. One thing that I do think they need to work on though is the toppings station. They have you dip the paletas in toppings at EXTREMELY particular angles, and if you’re even the slightest bit off, you lose points. You also don’t even get a guide for the angles unless you spend $200 in tips for one in the in-game shop, and even then it doesn’t really help. Every time I strategically line up the paleta perfectly with the line on the guide, I still somehow manage to get 99% on the toppings section because my rainbow sprinkles happened to be .02 centimeters off the mark. I’m really hoping they adjust this in a future update so the game isn’t as sensitive about the topping angles. That’s my only issue though! I’d definitely still recommend buying.

Love everything, but...

There could be some more additions! I love this game just as much as any of the papas games, the graphics are amazing, I love the new characters and returning ones, and the new flavors are great too :) though, I wish there were more upgrades and the upgrades in the shop were better. I didn't know what the topping guide was for 3-4 games until I noticed the lines on it, I wish it was more like the sushiria slicing guide where it actually showed you where to put the knife or snaps in place, I feel like it would be more helpful that way because even with the topping guide I don't always make a 100% I also wish there was more upgrades in general like one in sushiria and pancakeria where it would perfectly stop the drink syrup in the middle for a perfect score. either way, I still love this game! I just wish there was a little bit more when it comes to in-game store aspects
