Dinsun Expert Review

Our Expert Score

75/100

PCH Wordmania successfully blends the addictive nature of word-scramble puzzles with the high-stakes thrill of Publishers Clearing House sweepstakes. The gameplay is familiar—connecting letters to find words in a grid—but the meta-layer of earning tokens for real-world prize drawings adds a unique layer of motivation.

While the presentation is standard for the genre, the frequent speed rounds and daily challenges keep the pace lively. It’s a great choice for players who already enjoy word games but want the added excitement of potentially winning cash, gift cards, or even a new car. The interface is clean, though you should expect a fair amount of PCH branding throughout.

PLEASE STOP THE TRASHY ADS!!!
Tue Apr 23 2024 Coston Capital

PCH Wordmania is a really great app! BUT the entire experience gets ruined by all the trashy ads that come through. I don’t mind watching ads. Especially ones from legitimate retailers. I’ve come across tons of things that I’ve purchased or added to lists for future purchases that I wouldn’t have thought of if it weren’t for the (legitimate) ads. For some reason, 90% of the ads that come through are the scammy ones. I’ve actually seen one that showed a person (holding a baby for a nice effect I might ad) claiming “I couldn’t pay my rent so I downloaded this bingo app, played for 10 minutes, and I made over $12,000 dollars”. Seriously? I’ve faced not being able to pay my rent at times so this blatant deceit is simply disgusting to me. And there are hundreds more ads just like that one. The PCH+ app is saturated with these sickening ads and I worry they will associate the PCH brand with this garbage. PCH+, PCH Lotto, PCH Wordmania, PCH Treasure Match, and PCH Slots are all truly great apps and I really do enjoy playing them. I trust and believe that I have a chance of winning actual prizes from PCH. So once more, please stop associating with these lousy ads. It’s ruining the PCH suite of apps and the enjoyment of playing. Thanks so much! (I tried breaking this review into paragraphs but my iPad or the App Store return key is not registering the breaks, sorry!)

Coolest word game I have ever seen or played

I love Mr Harvyboy I always adore him on Family feud and his own talk shows. But in this game it’s fun to watch him in animation and his funny great smile. Anyhow I call Steve Harvy Smedley all of the time. But don’t worry. This just means he is more than studly. But as I had grown up I called a ton of comedians Smedley all the time. Wether I taped them in movies or tv series or documentaries of some kind. I never mean that nickname to be insult I’ve at all. I mean it because of funny and outgoing. The most common three are Gene Rayburn of Match Game and Drew Carrey of Price is Right and of course Steve Harvey of Family Feud and I do watch tons of gameshows and on Netflex we often see the floor is lava. But the most common thing I’ll say to my family is Smedley is so funny. But that is usually mean the host is all around funny studly and great. So if I ever say that about Steve Harvyboy I know by far he is a great guy. And I’ll stake my useless reputation on that. Another one is Jerry Springer and Iron Jay Leno. And I always liked that as a nickname. First of all I liked elephants since I was three. But Smedley was this cartoon icon once for Captain Crunch’s Peanut Butter Crunch cereal. And the elephants were by far my favorite animal. So as a kid my brother’s both called me Smedley after the elephant on peanut butter crunch cereal. But if I call any man this nickname, all it means is that particular man is a very handsome studly and very funny guy. And I love love and love him. He is by far my very best joker or comedian and host or master of ceremonies in Family Feud. So anyhow I loved what you guys have done to the game and as Nimoy would always say Live Long and prosper Jannyboy Stephens. P S I love your animation with Smedleyboy. Steve Harvyboy that is. I love it I love it I love it. Way to go guys🖖🤣

Best app experience possible??
Fri Jun 11 2021 GeekaSeltzer

Version 1.2.7 as with all prior releases arrived intending “… to make sure you get the best app experience possible!” which turns out to include a greatly increased volume of forced ads, the majority of which are 30 seconds or more, and even worse frequently divided into three 10 second ads thus requiring more attentiveness to progress, and more physical energy in the form of tapping. Speaking of tapping, the ads’ close buttons show up in various forms and inflict varying degrees of frustration - either they are not clearly obvious or visible, and/or consist of tiny X’s that are arduous to isolate and activate with anything but a precision-guided tap from a sober brain in full-concentration mode. Folks with tablets may not suffer as much as those of use who use m our phones, but certainly the developers should revisit every user-related aspect of this app, and the decision makers in the PCH conference rooms should think more carefully about how their marketing/monetary decisions impact the users upon whom they depend to generate all that precious ad revenue. As I see it, terming what has been done to this app a “better ad experience“ is about as ridiculous as I would be if I were to continue playing it given the time it now robs. No more ladies and gentlemen, no more PCH app gameplay for this loyal PCH fan. And please look for this same review for the other PCH apps - for the reasons I’ve stated above none are acceptable to me any longer.

Scam, Fake

Hi everyone. First, let me just say that all of the PCH games are good games. My problem and question is, does everyone have the same chances at winning??? I have been playing this game since I was 18 years old and I’m 47 now. I’d wake up early every morning to play and would play and enter on every platform, every day for months at the time, yet I’ve never won a gift card, a $1, nothing. Also I noticed when I play I get little slick messages in the apps ads letting me know that I’m just wasting my time because I will never win cash and that I will only win tokens. This game is a scam. Trust and believe, it has it’s picks of people that they want to win. I have over 500,000,000 tokens and has never won anything and was playing consistently. I think it’s because I’m black. They certainly have their favorites. It’s the elderly white people that they want to save in society after they’ve beat the economy down. They’re making it impossible to live unless you’re wealthy so they are saving their people through their PCH. Every now and then they’ll let a black person win a small fortune so they won’t seem racist, but really PCH is a racist organization with their picks of who they’re going to give their fortunes to. It’s all government affiliated.

I started playing PCH Word mania about 1 month ago till today, and every week there’s a prize announcement 7 days ahead of its time, and weekly, they announce the winner right after 12:00am midnight at the end of the six day period! Unfortunately, my confidence and courage in PCH word mania, is starting to waver mainly due to the fact that it’s been three weeks in a row and the prize winner is still not announced, and the app just says, “stay tuned for prize winner announcement “ I called customer service in hopes that she would tell me what was going on, but she just said,” If it says wait, then you just wait” but that was after I told her that it’s been three weeks in a row of stating a weekly prize, then at the end of the week fail to choose a winner in the time advertised, as usually done after the 7 day period. I am still devoted to PCH word mania but if their promises are not being met at the time supposedly they are to be met, then I must tell it how I see it. The one star rating is only due to the failure of living up to what was advertised, about the weekly prizes, and the failure to provide answers at the time of searching, when asked by me! However the rest of the app is great and the games are truly, exiting, and fun. I will update my rating, after this their promise have been met, but until then I refuse to be naive and to withhold an opinion that appears to be of uttermost importance, to every current and future, devoted players of PCH word mania. I also posted this here in hopes that whoever is in charge of the app may see and read this message and fix whatever the issue that’s causing, the lag in the process of the weekly prize winner, nomination, and announcement!

PCH is extraordinary!

The artistic design and creative details that’s put into making the app itself is overwhelmingly inspirational! It makes playing the games so worthwhile. I get lost in all the hopefulness of it all! It’s what dreams are made of. Thanks! PCH for still being around. Especially, for converting everything from the old school mail-in sticker/stamps to a phenomenal online app. PCH is amazing! Creating opportunities & confidence. Giving hope, inspiration & encouragement; all while having FUN!. Once people download the app PCH reminds us that… all ‘things and dreams’ are possible, if you only relax, enjoy and believe. I’ve been playing these games for a long time. Now is the time I could really use a great win. Primarily to save my home of 20 years from foreclosure and payoff an outstanding outrageously high electric bill! I wish me luck!🍀

I love playing Wordmania. I first started playing it in May of 2022, and I realized that it had a calming effect on me—plus, my brain was also actively involved. I love the ancient music they play with it as well. It takes me into another dimension. Best of all, my ability to see words in groups of letters has greatly increased. I’m becoming a word whiz. I also enjoy playing Vita Mahjong & Solitaire. Thanks to all who make playing PCH games possible. They are on my iPhone and playing them is free. It is definitely obvious that my brain is getting better and better. PCH rocks—& it has since the early 1950s!!!!

Should be tossed out of App Store! ⚠️🤔👎🏼

Update: After finally getting it to load and playing for a day or so I decided it’s not worth my bother after all especially after I realized something seemed sketchy/scammy with my personal info as well as the constant technical issues/crashing like I’ve definitely never seen before. Checked out the privacy policy within game tried to opt out of advertisements switched it to on and immediately got a error message telling me it couldn’t be turned on unless I go through my browser! 🤬 It switched back to off after that pop up. #2 I then went to opt out of sharing my personal info and low and behold that didn’t work either link obviously broken and wouldn’t let me submit it every time I pressed submit it did NOTHING either! I then contacted customer service by phone to request said issues as requesting in game is a nightmare. I was told she was going to send me an email to confirm and the problem should be resolved. That turned out to be just as bad as their busted links in game I tried. Got the email replied with confirmation to delete everything said and received another email confirming the account was permanently deleted but opting out of advertisements and third party sharing was to be requested through two other separate links of which I tried but didn’t work no matter what I did I kept getting errors making it impossible to submit. It makes no sense to be told they are capable of permanently deleting some of my info but not all is the craziest thing ever! At this point I’m really disturbed about how my personal info can be collected so easily but total He!! to delete entirely obviously because this is disguised as a game but it’s really a scam to get your personal info then make it impossible to remove it thru the busted links that does absolutely nothing probably on purpose just to harbor your personal info and do as they feel with it when you want no parts of the game or it’s affiliates! Nothing I tried worked therefore if anymore of my info is shared or worst stolen I will go forward as far as I need to address this issue to the fullest. DELETE/OPT ME OUT OF ADS & THIRD PARTY SHARING AS WELL NOW!!!! 🤬🤬🤬😡⚠️🗑️😱🏴‍☠️🦵‼️🥴🛑👎🏼📝
