SP Shikigami Hakuzosu Unbound (VA: Daiki Kobayashi) arrives!
-SP Hakuzosu Unbound chance up with the summon time accumulates
Onmyoji stands as an absolute masterpiece when it comes to tactical team-building and artistic commitment. The world design instantly catches your attention with its mesmerizing Heian-era aesthetic, blending elegant watercolor backdrops with fluidly animated 3D characters. Unlike many standard mobile gacha games that rely on cheap visual hooks, this title dedicates itself entirely to authentic cultural folklore and high-fidelity production values.
From a mechanical perspective, the depth of strategy available through the Soul equipment system is incredibly satisfying. Every single spirit you summon can be engineered into completely different roles depending on the statistical combinations you choose to farm. Combat demands calculated restraint, forcing you to prioritize your orb budget wisely rather than spamming ultimate abilities wildly.
While the endgame loop can devolve into a highly repetitive grind for perfect stat rolls on high-tier souls, the journey through its rich narrative chapters and active cooperative guild mechanics makes it more than worth the investment. It remains a premier choice for any fan seeking a deeply tactical and beautiful Eastern fantasy RPG.
Stunning semi-realistic 3D anime aesthetics inspired by traditional Japanese art styles
An immense roster of summonable legendary Shikigami spirits with distinct personalities and skill sets
Strategic turn-based team mechanics requiring active tactical synergy and skill management
Immersive dual-audio experience featuring legendary professional Japanese voice actors
To progress through the main story chapters and clear high-level dungeons, you need a balanced squad. Focus on building a versatile team that includes a strong primary Area-of-Effect (AoE) damage dealer, a reliable Single-Target finisher, a dedicated healer, and crucial support units that can provide Soul fire or push your action gauge forward.
Combat centers around managing a shared dynamic resource pool called Orbs, which are consumed to execute special attacks. Beyond raw level upgrades, your combat efficiency is dictated by equipping Souls. Souls are strategic item sets that confer passive bonuses—such as life steal, extra turns, or counterattacks—allowing you to customize each Shikigami to fit your tactical archetype.
Players can consistently secure Mystery Amulets by completing daily quests, participating in weekly Guild (寮) activities, unlocking region achievements, and clearing special secret zones.
I absolutely love this game. Everything about it, from the stories to the characters, are beautiful. Ive been playing for about 2/3’s of a year, lvl 48, and i cant see how anyone can quit. Well maybe i can, but thats not the point. The team working on this game are so respectful to the players, and honestly care about them. Some people might say that this game is “unfair”, “pay to win”, and while i can see onmyoji as unfair, its most definitely not pay to win. There are so many ways to win, you dont even need grade 6 shikigami or ssrs (can confirm, had my first g6 at lvl 46, been playing with g5s most of the game). The packs are supposed to support the player and the game. Most of the things you buy are accessories, side stuff, such as loading pictures, frames, skins, etc. So what if you dont have that one awesome looking tamamonomae skin? A lot of other people dont have it too. And besides, theres always at least one event going on, so therell be easier ways to get coins, jade, and amulets. Its your fault you dont have any ssrs, summoning when a chance up event isnt going on, not the games. Onmyoji gives you so many chances to end your lucky streak, get that one ssr, clear stage 10 soul zones. And even now, because the players are annoyed that the events are too far away, theyve been speeding up the ssr releases in the global server. You asked for it, you got what you want so dont complain about not having enough time to save up, you brought this upon yourselves. Im excited to see what ssrs are coming out next, both in the cn and gl servers :)
Been playing this for years. Their unfair treatment and indifference for GL server has always been horrible, yet i can’t stop playing coz i’m already too attached with the characters and old stories. However, this time… they took it to another level!! . Why do gl server get the beta version of Amaterasu events?!!. Some parts are still untranslated, have weird movements, missing cutscenes, missing musics, and some characters are even still in their placeholder voice?!. The supposedly emotional scenes became funny and unserious- the experience became very lacking!. And not to mention the system where we borrow support shikigami from friends were messed up too. Does it not being checked before release? A company as big as you? It’s been days and there’s no notice yet as if there’s no problem.I know we’re not as abundant as in other server, but please appreciate your players in gl server aswell…. I hope you fix the event or at the very least… give us deserving compensation!!. I’ll edit the rate if this is resolved. Edit : kinda fixed quietly it seems, but not entirely.
I have been playing since 2019, I genuinely love this game with all of my heart. Ive reached celebrity, I rank in the leaderboards and everything, basically anything this game has to offer i can at least rank in. But, it took endless hours of grind and money. This game is not friendly to f2p, well it can be but do not expect to do good in anything that isn’t the daily routine (souls, evo materials, etc.). This game heavily relies on incredibly niche SSR/SP units to do a specific challenge that will never be brought up again (but thats only if you care about the ranking and rewards). PVP is also just so insane. The meta shifts so often and with every release of a character and the worst part is that no matter what, it will almost always be speed dependent so good luck trying to outspeed us veterans who have perfected our soul configurations. At a certain point, you will also start to feel that every new content they release (skins, events, etc.) are just more ways to get money from you. ALSO, global server is essentially neglected by the devs because we don’t monetarily compete with the whales in china/japan so they get exclusive content/skins/collabs with major animes etc. Listen, this game is fun and is arguably f2p friendly if you commit hours and years of your life to this. But considering how old this game is, good luck trying to break into the ranks without spending!
In the beginning it is fun as you level up fast but as you progress there just isn’t enough stuff to do that help level up your characters. I do events but half the time my characters are too weak so the only way to level them up is in story or explore mode. Problems with explore mode and possibly others is I finish fighting the boss of a stage and guess what no treasure was found or I get a few sushi back(after spending way more playing that stage) I get that it is chance based but the odds are way too low. Hardly found any souls in explore mode and I play it A lot, one stage I played 5 times in a row trying to get something and kept finding nothing but a small amount of coins once out of five times. On to the souls or getting your team. In the beginning I got a lot of tickets to get new team members but after that it is hard getting a normal ticket so I am stuck with a team that I only like maybe two or three characters. Haven’t been able to play demon parade since the start of the game, they say you can get tickets playing souls or the evo stage but I have yet to get any. Thought about putting money into the game but now I decided against it as it seems the chances for anything good is really low and you Have to grind for hours to get maybe a few good things depending on what you are after. One positive thing a lot of game don’t have though is when it crashed once my game was saved where it was during a story mission so that made me happy. I hope you can evolve people farther than one evolution eventually or not as that is really hard to do.
Like PVE? Better have the nisch team to be a top contender in PVE ranking. Otherwise any ol team will do to just clear. Like PVP? Better have the same team of units but faster. Other than a nice story, lovely graphics and beautiful character design, the gameplay is just a reck. PVE is easy to clear but boring to be good at. You can clear almost anything with any random team but to actually rank high you need to have a very nisch team with as close to the nearly impossible perfect soul set equipped. PVP is even worse anymore. Same 3 units on every team with overloaded kits and the only way to beat it is to use the same team but hope you have faster souls on. How else would you play when you have unblockable crowdcontrol that even the units that “cant be crowd controlled” are susceptible to? Ive walked away from PVP battles for 10+min and came back still in the same duel, still haven’t had a turn. You dont build damage you build speed on the same units as everyone else. In otherwords the only way you can use your favorite unit is if an event comes along and gives a buff to that unit for the event. Otherwise be prepared to run the same team as everybody else and show off your luck in soul stats. The game use to be very fun and offer a bunch of versatility but thats all gone.
I played other popular games of this type and in comparison, this game has better character models, more characters, they are all unique, have their own animations and voices. The anime is top quality. Even though you see a lot of players building the same teams there is still more opportunity in versatility than other games. You can still use common characters for end game content because they each can serve an important role on your team. Yeah there is still repetitive gameplay, modes that do not offer much different and many people still using the same teams and for that I am tempted to give the game 4 stars instead of 5 but then when I compare it to other games, this game does it better so it is as good as this kind of thing is going to get. The flaws are in the nature of this type of game, and they all have them. I would say maybe with a game that seems to have a big budget like this, it could try some story mode that is more interesting than this that feels more like an rpg.
I started this game a few months after it came to global. This game has expanded so much (I’m nearing my 1000th login next month) and I’ve met friends around the world now. Story and game mechanics are well fleshed out. No two teams are the same with the various layers of synergy and composition that makes a single team. The community is lively and helpful. A little grindy? Maybe. But when you have a partner or mentor run with you it’s a lot easier and faster. Pvp is difficult when first start off but get involved with guilds and members that frequently duel and you can slowly learn the ropes. Customer service could be much better but hopefully you won’t need it. It’s completely possible to never spend a dime in the game but know you’ll probably have to grind a little extra to get better drops. If you decide to play talk to other players to help you get started. The beginning is a little overwhelming but easier to get through with the in game mentor system.
While I love this game, the support flow is terrible. It is not optimized whatsoever. Why is every issue completed once a user receive a response from the agent? That should not be the status when a user issue is not resolved. The resolves status should be on the user. However, the forced closure of the original ticket forces the user to resubmit multiple contact for a singular issue. User should be able to have a message box to reply to the agents response so that the conversation is centralized. I’ve messaged them numerous times about the failed injection of S Jade into my account despite having proof of purchase and Apple’s confirmation that the order was successful. Yet the in game agent can only tell me that it didn’t go through so I have to follow up with Apple? Apple takes care of the payment, but the developers should really be the ones to handle the in game injection based on the payment ping that the platform should get notified of. Now if it doesn’t but a customer shows that they did, what is stopping the developers from credited the player? Honestly I’ve been frustrated too many times going back on forth on the support portal.
